    I have a Master’s degree in English and have taught Creative Writing, Expository Writing and Technical Writing at Rutgers University.     My second published novel, a young adult novel for teenage girls, was purchased by Crosswinds/Harlequin. A YA novel for girls, CLAIRE’S CURSE, came out in print in 2004 and received excellent reviews as well.

    I was nominated for a Nebula Award for a short story I wrote published in the anthology TOUCHED BY WONDER. One of my YA stories for girls appeared in LISTEN Magazine. A YA short story is in the RUINS TERRA anthology. New Leaders for New SCHOOLS purchased several of my YA stories to use for PASSAGES. Another YA story is in STORIES THAT LIFT, as is a YA story in SEE SPOT RUN.

    I especially enjoy writing for teens. Hope you are interested in perusing my novel. I love all kinds of music, enjoy art and painting landscapes.

A real heroine cannot call on armies to follow her, or pay assassins for special work. She may have children already, so adventure is out of the question, and family must be secure before she can enter the public square where she has no voice.

    Brenda Cheers is a novelist living in Brisbane Australia.
    Raised on a flat and windy farm in rural Victoria, where rain fell 24/7/365 (or so it seemed to her), and where there was no public transport, Brenda soon found that survival from a ‘death by boredom’ lay in books, which she began devouring at a great rate.
