   Mark was born in Orillia, Ontario (better known as cottage country to anyone living within the golden triangle of southern Ontario). He worked in Toronto for a few years before coming to the realization that big city life was not for him and so he ran off to join the Navy and see the world.    After publishing my first novel less than a year ago, I was astounded to find myself an Amazon bestseller within my categories. I’ve written for as long as I have been able to hold a pencil, always fairly prolifically as a teenager. After attaining a degree in English at Aberystwyth University an age ago in 1991, I strangely left my craft alone for a period and allowed my career to take a number of different routes, including law enforcement. Then came marriage and children and the inevitability of frantic motherhood interspersed by work in education.

   Emigration from England to New Zealand in 2006 brought a life with no family or friends and my writing began again in earnest as I sought to fill those painful gaps. 8 years and 10 novels later and our family has forged an existence for itself in this beautiful land and I am finally at peace here.

   Looking back on my life, I would have to acknowledge that the most interesting place to live has been Market Harborough in Leicestershire, where I found a few things I thought I had lost and rediscovered a keen interest in the supernatural. But my favourite place in the world is at the bottom of our New Zealand paddock, on the river bank listening to the cicadas singing their summer song in the trees, while the resident horse accidentally-on-purpose blows snot down the back of my shirt.

   The bravest thing I ever did was jump out of a plane on a static line parachute, because a friend asked me to and the dumbest thing, was getting on a plane with my husband and four small children with a one way ticket to the other side of the world. The most exciting moment of my life was marrying my husband after having known him only 5 months and meeting his family for the first time on my wedding day.

   My favourite people are my husband, and four beautiful children who are now too big for slapped bottoms but not for kisses. I love hearing from readers who have enjoyed my novels, and surprisingly from those who didn’t, because an author can always learn something from a negative review (after I’ve dried my tears.)
