The way the idea for the anthology came to me isn’t all that straightforward, but that’s not how my brain works, so no big surprise there! Lol! Basically I started seeing how many anthologies were out there and how well some of them were doing. I thought my readers would love something like that and wouldn’t it be great for them to find new authors that share my love for The Game? (That’s what I often call hockey, which explains the title!)
Around the same time as I was considering a hockey themed anthology, I came across ‘Hockey Fights Cancer’ and thought it would be awesome if the authors could contribute to the cause. The ebook industry is growing and with the potential amount we could raise from sales—well, the money could do a lot of good.
Now, there were so many different ways to donate the royalties from the anthology, but I didn’t want it to be a small percentage, so I started talking to other authors, our wonderful cover artist, our editor, my own assistant Stacey Price who does amazing with formatting. Everyone was willing to contribute for FREE. Which meant 100% of what the book earns will be contributed by the authors for the next year. Having the opportunity to do that is incredible and humbling and I’m so grateful to everyone who’s been involved.
This will be the first year for the anthology and we’ll be sharing its success with all the readers.

Julie found the original manuscript of Abby in her computer that was typed in present tense before the publisher wanted it changed into past tense for publication, She hopes you enjoy it! It’s not as long or as detailed as the final one but still a rollicky read.
