For many years Clive Ousley painted vast alien landscapes and worlds peopled by strange creatures. He exhibited paintings of these worlds in major exhibitions at The Mall Galleries in London, The Royal Birmingham and a Sotheby’s sponsored exhibition. He became an illustrator and has completed work for The Natural History Museum, Westminster Abbey and Alton Towers.
Now he writes to create these other worlds and loves to read apocalyptic, post-apocalyptic sci-fi and fantasy. He has worked in the printing industry, two horticultural research institutes and has run a car-parts warehouse. He occasionally fiddles with a bit of DIY and walks the Pembrokeshire coastal paths with his wife and dogs.
Clive has written two fantasy/sci-fi novels – Jadde, Books one – The Fragile Sanctuary and book two – The Dark Tide. Another novel, Fountain of Stones, is now available on Kindle. He is currently working on the third novel in the Jadde series – World of Skulls. A fifth space opera / fantasy novel has so far amassed 42,000 words – he’s looking forward to finding the time to finish it.

Olivia and Mark went to doctor after doctor (some listened and some scoffed), psychiatrist, psychologist, therapist, nutritionist, herbalist, massage therapist, chiropractor, and anyone else we could think of who might be able to help.

What they found was that very few physicians and professionals agree!

Naps were good, they were bad.

Sleeping pills were the answer, they were the cause.

One doctor sent Mark to a psychiatrist who prescribed antidepressants for depression, another decided that he needed talk therapy to “explore trauma from his childhood.”

The Sleep Disorder Clinic was happy to have Mark sleep overnight to observe his slumber problems, but when they determined that he didn’t snore or have sleep apnea (and so they couldn’t sell us a CPAP device), they lost interest in our problems.

The one benefit to this procession of physicians and professionals was finally to give a title to one of the conditions my husband suffered from.

Mark was diagnosed with Periodic Limb Movement Disorder (PLMD) and Sleep Onset Insomnia.

The good news was that they knew what to call it!

The bad news is that they realized that we were on our own.

Which ended up being the best thing that could have happened — because Olivia and Mark chose to take control of our medical care.

They decided that if they were going to make a difference in our lives, they would have to make it!

Focaccla

Focaccia is made from a softer, more yeasty dough than pizza and, unlike pizza, is usually served warm or at room temperature. Somewhat of a horror fanatic himself, he now regularly reviews horror novels and completes articles relevant to the genre, as well as film and television, working for website owner Matt Molgaard.

Graham Downs was born in Alberton, in Gauteng, South Africa. He now lives in Germiston with his wife. He is a computer programmer in Rivonia.

For many years Clive Ousley painted vast alien landscapes and worlds peopled by strange creatures. My name is Thomas J. Eggert, I’m 48 years old and live in southern Ohio with my beautiful wife. I wrote Of Little Faith over the course of 24 years. I have no clue where the idea for the story came from or what compelled me to write it. I started the first draft at the age of 24. I stopped writing at chapter 2 because that chapter was overwhelmingly painful and I was much too inexperienced to write it. I went back to college, learned to write, signed up for all classes that would help me with the book, then wrote the full first draft at age 30. My wife at the time read it and then divorced me (yes, the first draft was just that bad ;-). At age 32, over the course of 7 months, I rewrote the 60,000 word first draft into a 130,000 word novel. Over the next 5 years, I rewrote and revised. I published the book in 2006 so I could put a cover on it and give it out to friends and family. It was never promoted so the book just gathered dust for over 7 years–which was fine by me since I just wanted that story out of my head and on paper. I eventually remarried to a wonderful woman. She read and loved the book and urged me to publish it as an eBook. Who am I to argue with my wife? So back to work…. In 2013 / 2014, Over the course of 6 months, I revised, fine-tuned and edited the book. What you have before you is my FINAL vision and story, a story unlike anything you have ever read. Air Command pilot Nova Whiteside is assigned to a remote outpost to guard the construction of a new orbiter, Skyranch Twelve against rebel sabotage. I am a first generation Canadian currently and out of necessity residing on planet Earth (which, in the general and interplanetary scheme of things could REALLY use a catchier name, if you ask me. I mean, imagine heading past Proxima Centauri and someone asks you whence you came and you tell them “dirt”. All theological implications aside, that just won’t do.)

My first full-length work of fiction, Flight To Exile, is a fantasy which, I just realized, takes place on a planet that doesn’t have a name at all and blurs the line between sci-fi and fantasy in ways that are probably illegal.

I then headed out far beyond Proxima Centauri and found a nifty story that soon turned into a Space Opera complete with wormholes and improbable laser guns. What fun. Laws of physics need not apply if you find a way to explain them away.
The series stars Nova Whiteside as a space marine whose pesky humanity keeps getting in the way of her doing her job according to protocol.
Currently, there are five books in the series, with two more planned.

When not finding ways to torture my subjects or entice them with inter-species hanky-panky, I design web sites or write about designing web sites. I enjoy long walks on the beach or, given the local beach shortage, write about beaches far beyond Proxima Centauri.

Although she is unable to help in the conventional sense, and all seems lost for Becker, she offers him a solution no one ever thought possible.
