  1. Retarded Girl Raised in Dog Pen -

Retarded-Girl-cover-copyAbout Retarded Girl Raised in Dog Pen:

Baby is every adoptive parent’s nightmare—blind, paralyzed from the waist down, unable to speak, and diagnosed with developmental and intellectual disabilities. For the first 10 years of her life she is raised outside in a dog pen by a cruel adoptive father, a Mississippi deputy sheriff who values his bird dogs more than his daughter.

Retarded Girl Raised in Dog Pen is the story of Baby’s placement in a Mississippi mental institution for individuals with profound retardation after the brutal murder of her father and the arrest of her mother, and her desperate attempt to escape the institution.

Once the mother is convicted of murder and sentenced to death, the story takes a bizarre twist as mental health professions discover that Baby is capable of communication, despite being trapped inside a grotesque body that holds her prisoner.

How much does Baby know? Can she prove her mother’s innocence?

As the mother sits on death row, the clock ticking, a brilliant psychologist has the shock of her life when she discovers that Baby is not who she seems. The question is will the psychologist be able to solve the mystery in time to save the mother’s life?

Similar to One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest in the manner in which it reveals the inner workings of a mental institution, it is, in the end, about the triumph of intellect and passion over indifference and cruelty. It is written in the tradition of The Sound and the Fury and To Kill a Mockingbird, two novels that address the complex issue of intellectual disabilities.

  2. Death Never Sleeps by E. J. Simon -

DNS-COVER-PROOF-copyAbout Death Never Sleeps by E. J. Simon:

The problem with Alex Nicholas is he won’t stay dead. Death Never Sleeps is a unique crime thriller featuring artificial intelligence; a story of two very different brothers, Michael Nicholas, a corporate CEO and, Alex Nicholas, a major NYC illegal gambling figure. When Alex is murdered, the deeper mystery unfolds as Michael struggles to close down his brother’s business, instead becoming enmeshed in it. As he becomes the target of his brother’s killers, he discovers that Alex left a duplicate of himself on a hidden laptop computer. A fast-paced page-turner, the story takes place in interesting locations such as NYC’s Manhattan and Queens, Beverly Hills, Paris, Saint-Tropez, and Rome.

The story precedes yet coincides well with the movie, “Her” and the upcoming “Transcendence” starring Johnny Depp – both of which feature artificial intelligence characters. “Death Never Sleeps” is a psychological, artificial intelligence drama – wrapped inside of a traditional crime thriller. Unlike, “Her” however, it delves deeply into the issues of our mortality and touches seriously on family relationships, the Church, the excesses of the hedge fund fueled business world and, of course, the increasingly intimate and intrusive role of technology in our lives. It also prominently features popular locations around the world – and great restaurants, food and drink – providing a light contrast to the more serious messages and themes in the story. It is only matter of time and word of mouth before this book attracts a much broader audience.

  4. The Proverbs of Hell Explained by Jonathan Charles Doyle -

POH-CoverAbout The Proverbs of Hell Explained by Jonathan Charles Doyle:

Join author Jonathan Doyle, a painter, philosopher, filmmaker, and performance artist, as he guides us through the great William Blake’s “Proverbs of Hell”. This is no dry, pedantic, scholarly journey, but rather a full bodied, red blooded dive into the essence of these proverbs, originally intended by Blake to liberate the mind from the conceptual and attitudinal prisons and preconceptions of his time. In everyday language, without scholarly pretension, Doyle unlocks each proverb. To read his commentary is to allow a pebble of insight to fall into the placid water of the mind, stimulating a ripple effect of reflection that extends outwards to an indefinite, infinite horizon, triggering new thoughts that reflect back on the original point of entry and all relevantly similar situations. And all of it through prosaic examples from everyday life! With Doyle guiding us through Blake’s radical unification of “Good” and “Evil”, the doorway of the commonplace leads into the garden of freedom.

    Jonathan Doyle grew up

    in the North East, deep

in the hills of the New

    Hampshire forest. He is

    famous for dressing up

    as Bigfoot and

    producing short videos

    on Mt. Monadnock. His

    short videos and

    performances were

published in local papers causing a stir

amongst the Cheshire County community. The

    State Park immediately investigated his

activities on the mountain and deemed them a

violation of park regulations and kicked him out

of the park stating “ Mr. Doyle will need a

permit to shoot his Bigfoot videos on the

mountain” Doyle fought back with the help of

the American Civil Liberties Union. Doyle sued

the state for $1 on grounds that his first

amendment right was violated. His case made

it all the way to the New Hampshire Supreme

Court. The world media with publicity from

such juggernauts as FOX NEWS, NPR, BBC

RADIO, NEW YORK TIMES all scrambled to

cover the story. Turns out Doyle was right and

the Supreme Court judges decided in his favor,

making Doyle the first Bigfoot performer to

fight for free speech and win a dollar.

    Author Bio:
Life for me began in Bronx, New York. I spent most of my childhood in New York. When I was about 10 years old, my family moved to Connecticut. Growing up I loved reading. I read anything I could get my hands on. However, I had a great love for books with great adventures and amazing rhymes. My love for reading was shared with my love for sports. I had a passion for soccer and basketball. I would play soccer and basketball as much as I could and watch my favorite teams on T.V. I still enjoy kicking the soccer ball around and shooting some baskets with my free time as well as keeping up with some teams. I attended Hamden High School in Connecticut and graduated in 2010. Throughout high school I received academic awards for writing.

After graduating high school, I started my university journey at the University of Connecticut. There I pursued a degree in pharmacy. Quickly realizing pharmacy and science was not the route for me in life, I decided to change my university experience all together. I changed my major to business as well as transferring to Southern Connecticut State University. Currently at SCSU I am still pursuing a degree in business. However, almost two years ago I came to the realization my true passion was writing.

On my free time I could easily make up quick, short, entertaining stories. I have a notebook full of various, interesting stories. After a while of fooling around with different writing styles, I noticed something. Writing was something I loved to do, something that gave great satisfaction to me. At that point, I knew a writing career was something I wanted to pursue. Writing became more important to me than playing and watching my two favorite sports.

Switching majors a 3rd time would have been a hassle, so I decided to finish with a degree in business. However, I knew for sure I would be spending the rest of my life writing. With my experience in writing, writing children’s books is where I see myself excelling the most. I have miraculous imagination, which I see as a bonus in writing adventurous stories. Dr Seuss and his children stories are the reason why I wrote my first book. I believe Dr Seuss is one of the most talented children’s authors.

In early 2014, I self published my first children’s book, Rainboy Full of Joy. Seeing the way my nieces, nephews, friends, and family enjoy this book, I want everyone around the world to enjoy it as well. I will be writing more creative, adventurous books for children to enjoy at school and home.

  14. Gentile In The Jewish State -

gentileAbout Gentile In The Jewish State:

entile in the state of the Jews is structured as a kind of reservoir beginning in 1961, the year the author was born, until its conclusion in the year 2000. Into this reservoir flows the year 1948 with all its hardships, its battles, its victims, and its results.
Throughout the book the author strikes ahead in recounting his personal narrative and that of all the people, places, and events that he encounters along the way: racism, separatism, the meeting of cultures, customs, and traditions, among Jews and among Arabs.
Ben Adam Universali (Universal Human Being) describes the history of his life as a Bedouin Arab who was born in a state which does not want him and sees him as categorically evil or as a “demographic problem”. Clearly revealed in the book is the true face of Zionism and the state of Israel today, which hides under the cloak of a “democracy” that is both selective and abortive.
The author does not spare his judgment from the shortcomings and the faults of Arab Bedouin society into which he was born: class differences, discrimination against women, the alarmingly inflexible structure of the family, and the embarrassing and futile obsequiousness directed toward the ruling powers.

  15. Worse Things Happen At Sea: A Very Funny Romantic Comedy by Beverley Watts -

Worse-Things-Happen-At-Sea-FinishedAbout Worse Things Happen At Sea: A Very Funny Romantic Comedy by Beverley Watts:

Best described as Bridget Jones in a military establishment, Worse Things Happen At Sea is a quirky lighthearted romantic comedy that will, at the very least, leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy.

Beverley Wilkins promised herself when she started working at Britannia Royal Naval College, the Royal Navy’s premier officer training establishment, that she would eventually become that most envied of creatures – an officer’s wife…

She might be divorced and in her mid 40s, but it doesn’t mean she’s given up on romance – after all, she’s seen ‘An Officer and a Gentleman’!

The only problem is that so far, the only man in her life is her dog Nelson who unfortunately has a mind of his own – not for nothing is he named after Britain’s greatest hero.

But it’s a new term which means new officers… Anything could happen!

A mixture of vulnerable femininity, delinquent dog and an irrepressible sense of fun in a setting of stuffy tradition at one of the world’s most famous naval training establishments.

While reliving the past, events in the present become eerily familiar, leaving him to wonder if the past truly does repeat itself, and how his choices the second time around can change the consequences.

Mixing philosophy and religion in a world of science fiction and mystery, RIGHTS delves into the deeper questions through the thoughts of a man who has lost his very soul.

    Book Two: Just Perfect

Hi, if you’re wondering why I write, it is because I like to express and explore ideas through the medium of writing. Another form of expression for me is music.
In the past, I have written and recorded music under the name of Kozmic Dreamers. The music has a 60′s to 90′s flavor to it and is available online at a number of good music stores. If I could sum myself up in a few lines, it would be this; like any good Kozmic Dreamer I came, I saw, I learnt, I created.
Oh, one more thing. I believe most firmly when we dust off this mortal coil, we will have the opportunity of creating our own reality as we see fit. Either individually or with others who share the same vision. Isn’t that exciting?

Not much is known about Tex’s early years. Many are unsure of how old he is or where exactly he came from. He has been heard on a few occasions telling people his first memory is of awakening in a laboratory in which they were testing a chemical known as TXZ-871. This chemical compound is known to erode the mind and cause delusions of grandeur. After several doses the patient is rendered psychologically insane but left with extreme amounts of creativity. Some test subjects in the trial were even able to project their own mental image of themselves externally, resulting in the morphing of size, shape and form. Tex has been documented as one of the prime examples of this and nobody is really sure what he actually looks like. Due to the damage caused by this drug, Tex believes himself to be a self employed spy and travels the world seeking clues to his own origin. He says that there are secret messages encoded in his literary works and that others that have been exposed to the compound will be able to decode it. His residence, is always changing. His look is never the same, and many say he doesn’t even exist but is merely the apparition of another test subject. Visit his website: WhoIsTex.com

  23. The Gods of Garran -

    GodsOfGarran-smAbout The Gods of Garran:

“The Gods of Garran” by Meredith Skye is a story about a planet besieged by conflict. Long ago the spirit of the planet of Garran bonded with seven of the tribesmen creating spiritual leaders called the Borrai who communed with the earth and wielded their power to maintain the peace between the tribes. Then, the invaders came from the sky.

The Chanden invaders killed the Borrai and used their powerful technology and weapons to take over the planet of Garran. The Garrans natives were forced to give up there ways and follow the Chanden laws and learn their language. One hundred years later, the Garrans, angry at injustices brought on them by this superior race, are stirred up to revolt.

Some of the tribes turn to new and violent gods and call for a bloody war. Others seek out the godstones of old, in the hopes of creating a new Borrai, one that can speak for the world of Garran and fight back against these invaders.

One young man, Moorhen, the son of a tribal chieftain who has chosen to fight is in danger of being banished from the tribe for speaking out against violence. He falls in with a group who is searching for the godstones. There, he meets a mysterious native girl, named Etsel, who is god-touched. The others believe that she can lead them to the godstone. If so, perhaps the coming war can be averted.

But there is more to Etsel than the others realize. Is she truly loyal to their cause? More is at stake here than Moorhen’s own heart.

Once they find the godstone, one of them will have to bond with it and when they do—they might be in danger of losing their own identity. But in the fight for this planet, Moorhen believes it will be worth it.

I live in Arkansas. I have two grown daughters who have grown and left the nest, leaving me with the extra time that has eluded me for years. For years, I have lived with characters and stories dancing in my head, but never really had the time to develop them. Now, with this precious, wonderful time that I have vowed not to take for granted, I have at last been able to let those characters live and breathe. I only pray that readers get to know them and love them as much as I have. I write teen romances, and adult romances. Some days I feel young, and some days I feel older (a little older any way). My books most often have heroines that ride motorcycles, and drive fast cars. There’s a little of the real-life me in there. I hope you enjoy my books. About Firemancer Collection (Books 1-3) (Fated Saga Box Set) by R. H. D’aigle

Summer fun is coming! And other than turning thirteen, twins, Meghan and Colin Jacoby, are looking forward to a typical summer… well, typical for them. Which means their uncle (and guardian) will pull into the Cobbscott Campground and park his travel trailer for three full months.

Normally, they’d never spend more than a couple weeks in any one place, their uncle preferring to move around. But only until summer when they’d be Cobbscott bound.

Why did he do this every summer? Why did he prefer to move around? The twins have never thought to ask.

Their only concern being that their friend Sebastien would be in Cobbscott as well… the one person who also happens to know their secret- that they can read each other’s minds.

Arrival at the campground goes as expected and within hours, Meghan and Colin are already making plans to meet up with Sebastien. But before they do, the campground gets some unexpected visitors.

Visitors with reserved campsites. Sites that have been reserved, but unused, for years.

The twins always wondered who reserved and never used these campsites and now that they have seen the owners, the twins can’t help but get an ominous feeling.

These visitors dress strange and act strange, taking hikes into the woods wearing winged tipped shoes and overcoats, disappearing into things clearly too small to fit so many people, and they never stop peering into the sky as if expecting to see something terrible.

And when unexplainable and frightening events follow their arrival, the twins start to realize that this summer, will be their least typical of all…

It has been forty-one years since the Supreme Court rendered a difficult decision. HUSH is the present-day journey into the lives of two successful people whose only mistake was to fall in love.
When pediatric nurse Ann Ferguson and lawyer Ben Grable fall in love and marry in Minneapolis, it seems a perfect union.
