Penel was born in Yorkshire, England and moved to the north of Scotland in 2007. She never did take heed of the age old advice not to work with animals and children! She has done precisely that for most of her working life. Agricultural college was followed by managing a city farm, working at a working horse visitor centre, taking birds of prey out to schools to meet the children….all quite frantic at times but great fun and full of memorable moments.

Now living at a somewhat easier pace she likes to spend time with her animals. She shares her life with two dogs, two cats, two barn owls and a horse – not forgetting partner Joe! Penel finally has time to follow a life long love of writing and is keen to share her sense of humour and love of animals with readers.

A lot. I asked my dad once why he thought there wasn’t any clear pictures of ghosts. You know what he said? “Maybe ghosts are just blurry, Natty.” My dad said. Then, he cracked up like he’d said the funniest thing ever. That’s my dad, a real comedian. My friends call me Nate. I’m 12 years old and I’m kind of a nerd. I mean, I like science and stuff, and I read a lot of comic books. If you read comic books, you know why science is so cool. Most of the superheroes out there got to be super thanks to science. Take Spiderman for instance. He got bit by this genetically altered spider and woke up with spider powers. How cool would that be? Anyway, the point that I was trying to make about ghosts is, that the reason that no one has been able to capture any really good images yet is because the only people who see them are a group of kids going into a haunted house on a dare. They are probably trying to take a picture while they are running away and screaming. That got me thinking about what I would do if I saw a ghost. I’d like to think that I’d walk right up and try to shake its hand but I guess I won’t know the answer until I actually see one. But that could be sooner than you think…..

When I moved to Japan in 2000, I had only had one girlfriend in my life and I was totally clueless about women and dating. I thought that when I moved to Japan, girls would throw themselves at me. My first year was very…humbling. He suggested we start teaching other guys how to live the kind of awesome dating lives we were living in Asia.

In 2007 we started PickUp Asia’s coaching programs. Since then we’ve taught hundreds of guys in Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul, Shanghai, Beijing, Singapore, Taipei, Bangkok, and Hong Kong.

I’ve helped all sorts of guys in that time. My oldest client was 62, and my youngest was 15. I’ve helped guys who killed it with women in their own country but floundered once they moved to Asia. She’s quite something and they go on a quick but exciting adventure helping people in trouble. There’s even some horror thrown into the mix. Gabby fits nicely in the Supernatural, Romantic Thriller, Paranormal and Time Travel genres. All three books have adventures and thrills, are fast paces and even some hilarious moments. The Jack Canon series will eventually be about 7 books, book three is tentatively titled, Jack Canon’s Ghost Operative, it’s a Presidential Agent Thriller and deals heavily in the shady dealings of the CIA, Global Terrorism, and the do-what-ever it takes spy mentality. Anyway the attitude of President Jack Canon is to make things right, No matter what! My hope is to have people read the stories and let me know their thoughts. My dream is to write full time and return to beautiful Maine in the Summertime while spending winters in Florida. I probably share that goal with a lot of people.
