Already unstable, attempted therapy opens old wounds and she absconds while on compassionate leave to her sister MICHELLE’S funeral, and returns to the scene of the murders, a caravan site by a river in Belgium, where she realises finally what she has done and connects with her past life. Her psychiatrist, DR BRUCE, abusive ex-partner FEDO, children JULIETTE and CHRISTOPHE, fellow patients and charge nurses all feature in the work
Brought back to the hospital, she longs to die rather than face the emotional consequences of her actions and a lifetime of imprisonment. Eventually she succeeds in ending her life. This drama has hope at its core despite the ending, as the nursing staff, ELSIE, TREVOR and KEN give Jane the security and care she has never known. It also addresses the issues of madness and sanity, when being sane is to feel the impact of one’s acts of madness, so that a retreat back into madness or death is sometimes the only escape.
This book would interest anyone who has worked with mental illness, or anyone wanting know more about criminality and mental health. Despite the bleak subject matter, it highlights the positive relationship between Jane and her carers, and presents a possibility for future care.

MARY WILLIAMS, also writing as Valentine Williams, is a writer and poet who gained a late MA in Creative Writing at Edge Hill and was then commissioned to write two self-help books for Sheldon (SPCK). Trained in psychotherapy, she worked in Mental Health and allied fields most of her life, having failed to keep order as a teacher and bored to tears by banking, her first two career choices.Published in many poetry anthologies and winner of several prizes this year and last, Mary keeps tabs on the Liverpool poets she met while on her MA, and helps run a writers’ and poets’ group in her home town.
When not at her computer or kitchen sink, she can be found on her allotment or in the local flea market. Married with four adult sons, she lives in Shropshire in an inconvenient cottage full of paintings by friends and family members with her art-therapist husband and tries to stop the garden getting into the house.
She has recently won awards for poetry, and has had three other books published in the last three years: The Poison Garden of Dorelia Jones, The Marsh People, Child With No Name, and Losing It.
She has worked in prisons and other institutions and is glad not to be inside one herself.

He has no idea what that ‘thing’ is, but sets out to find out the connection his grandfather had to this mysterious woman, and what she thinks Jack has that she wants.
My Grandfather’s Pants is a lovely, heart-warming read. It’s full of so many things going on that it’s hard to classify its true place within a single genre. This story will make you chuckle. It will make you sigh. It will also keep you turning pages as the suspense builds to see what will happen next. There’s romance, too. And the grandfather’s magical pants. My Grandfather’s Pants a fabulous read. Tegon tells a wholly believable tale which plays on most of the emotions. At the very heart of it, this is a family story and shares the importance of family history.

Do you believe in UFO’s? It’s almost impossible not too.When I was twelve I lived close to Norton Air Force base. They carried out training exercises on a regular bases doing what was called a “sac run.” Giant planes called Starlifters that roared from the sky one after the other to have their wheels touch down for a brief moment and then take off again.
At that time there was a road at the end of the runway you could park and the planes would pass no more than thirty feet over head. Their power as they floated by shook me to the core. It filled me with fear, trepidation and excitement that has lasted a lifetime.
Then, late one afternoon as I sat on the hood of my father’s car, I saw it. It gleamed with the brightness of unimaginable silver. It was stunningly thin from tip to tip with a recognizable bulge at its center… a saucer. It floated in place, hanging stationary in the air like a balloon and my heart jumped to my throat in surprise. I stared in disbelief as several minutes crept by and it inched closer, inched its way to the ground and to me.
My heart beat as never before and my mind filled with every Sci-Fi movie, every book, every abduction story I had ever been exposed too. I couldn’t breath, I couldn’t move. It was clear… they were coming for me.
At that instant I crawled backward over the roof of the car to stand on the truck. I was about to scream in terror and the craft turned slightly banking to the right.
It glided softly toward the runway becoming a Star Lifter once more as it roared over head.
My father and I laughed wildly but to this day the image burns in my memory.
I like to write quirky characters and all my stories are chock full of them.
I saw it for myself and real or not I believe.

An author and a musician, David Haskell lives near Tokyo, Japan with his wife and their nine year old daughter. Prior to living in Japan full-time, he split his time between Asia and America, drumming at Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea on trashcans and other assorted ridiculous instrumentation, as well as similar gigs at DisneyWorld and Universal Studios. He attended the University of Massachusetts where he studied music under the guidance of Dr. Peter Tanner and percussion guru Thom Hannum, and around that time he also lived for a year in Concord, CA while performing with the Blue Devils drum corps under another amazing teacher and drumming legend, Tom Float, who incidentally created the trash can trio gig at Disneyland that spawned the groups he was so lucky to be a part of in Japan.
David was born and raised in the Boston area, but left home at an early age because it was way too cold. He does travel back to Beantown as often as he can, preferring to plan those trips for the summer months. On the traveling front, he has been around America quite a lot back in his drum corps days, mostly small towns and rural communities. He has also been to Hawaii and Guam, and several cities in Canada and Mexico. Abroad he’s been around Japan quite a bit, as far afield as Okinawa. And he has also spent short amounts of time in Hong Kong and London having an absolute blast hanging with friends there.

I grew up in a rambling house overlooking the Mediterranean. My earliest memories are of listening, enchanted, to fairy stories at the knee of my half-French half-Italian governess Zula. When I was seven we came to an agreement: for each story she told me, I would invent and relate one of my own. That is how my love for story-telling began.Later, at a convent school, while French nuns endeavoured to teach me grammar, literature and maths, I took to day-dreaming and wrote short romantic stories to satisfy the needs of a fertile imagination. Having no inhibitions, I circulated them around the class, which made me very popular among my peers and less so with the nuns.
After I graduated with a BA in French literature, my international nomadic years commenced. I lived mainly in Switzerland, France and England, where I had friends and family, and during holidays I travelled to Mediterranean countries like Italy, Greece and Spain.
I met my husband in London at a drinks party: it was love at first sight, just like in the romance books that were my constant companions. He brought me to his large Georgian rectory in Kent, surrounded by grounds and forests. After my children were born, between being a mother and running a property business, there was little time for day dreaming, let alone writing.
Then, once my children had flown the nest, I decided after so many years of yearning to write, write, write it was time to dust off the old manuscripts I’d been tinkering with for a lifetime.
Today, I am living the dream: I write full time, splitting my time between my homes in Kent and in the South of France, where I dream up romances overlooking breathtaking views of the Mediterranean.
My first novel, Burning Embers, is a vivid, evocative love story set against the backdrop of tempestuous and wild Kenya of the 1970s, reviewed by one newspaper as ‘romance like Hollywood used to make’. About The Legend of the Red Ghost:“As quickly as I emerged from the bushes I turned and there, running toward us on the dirt road, was the most gruesome creature I had ever seen in my life. The creature was red and looked to be 10 to 12 feet tall and ran on four legs. On his back sat a human skeleton. Behind him sat the large, red setting sun. It looked as if the monster was riding out of the sun. The skeleton’s jaw was agape as if he were laughing at us, jeering at us, striking fear into our hearts. The creature careened toward us at a frightening pace. I was almost frozen in fear.
‘Run, Joseph, run!’ I screamed. I reached over and grabbed the frightened boy with one hand and began to pull him along behind me as quickly as my legs would carry me. We ran back into the woods. The twigs and branches of the bushes and trees snapped as we plunged into the forest. The briars and thorns tore at our clothes and our flesh. Joseph emitted a scream.
“Run faster!” he shouted. “It’s right behind us!”
The thunderous hooves got louder as the creature picked up speed and bore down on us.”
The Legend of the Red Ghost is inspired by actual events as told by 16-year-old Kip Young.
Kip craves adventure and an escape from the uneventful life in a frontier boom town. Kip’s life is anything but idyllic. His younger brother, Charlie, suffers a congenital heart defect that threatens his life.
One evening, a strange creature appears in the countryside terrorizing the townsfolk. It was described as running on four legs and covered with red fur. Most ominous of all was the spectral rider that sat on its back. Witnesses described a human skeleton that brandished a sword.
Some townsfolk speculated the monster was one of the horsemen of the Apocalypse, a beast from the final days.
Charlie soon becomes convinced the monster is the incarnation of Death itself. Charlie overhears several townsfolk discussing the monster. They refer to it as one of the seven horsemen of the Apocalypse. Others refer to it as the devil’s stead. A tribe of Hopi in the region label the creature “The Red Ghost.” Certain he is going to die, Charlie becomes depressed.
Kip decides to track down the creature to discover its true origin and protect his brother.
The story is told through the eyes of the 16-year-old Kip. the Legend of the Red Ghost is the first in a series of books that follow the life of Kip as he grows to manhood and travels the world experiencing many wonderful adventures.
Kip later traveled to Alaska where he took part in the Alaskan Gold Rush and encountered a ghost ship.
He was in England during World War I and took part in the hunt for the Red Baron.
He battled Pirates in the Middle East, and helped hunt down a Wild West outlaw, Kip became a journalist and traveled the world covering historical events as they occurred.
The series is an action packed rip-roaring adventure series with strong Christian values. The series is suitable for young adult readers.
