3. If I don’t make a conscious effort not to, I will drink nothing but tea morning, noon and night. Hot tea, sweet tea, green tea – I love it all.
4. There doesn’t seem to be much in life that is better than coming home to a big dog who is overjoyed to see me. My other family members usually show significantly less enthusiasm about my return.
5. Singing in my bestest, loudest voice does not make my family put on their happy faces. This includes the big, loving dog referenced above.
6. Yes, I am aware that bestest is not a word.
7. Dorothy was right. There’s no place like home.
8. All of the numerous bottles in my shower must be lined up, with their labels facing out. It makes me feel a little like Julia Roberts’ mean husband from the movie ‘Sleeping with the Enemy’, but I can’t seem to control this particular quirk.
9. I love, love, love finding a great bargain.
10. Did I mention that I hate whipped cream? It makes my stomach churn to look at it, touch it, smell it or even think about it. Great – now I’m thinking about it. Ick!

O’Malley is what really holds the piece together, though. A character with deep complexity, he is pained by a sad childhood, but driven to conquer (literal) demons. He was a fun person to spend a book with!

As an aside, the author describes some of his influences, which provided great perspective. I can definitely see the inspiration of Welles and Poe in this novel. It was a great read, and I look forward to checking out more of Musgrave’s work.”

I was born in Texas, but was raised and continue to happily reside in Denver, Colorado. When I was divorced in my late 30′s, I found myself uneducated and obese. It was my personal dark ages and I made a decision that I would create the life that I had always dreamed of living.

I went back to school to study filmmaking (my secret passion – the one I had never dared tell anyone) AND I hired a personal trainer to help me lose weight. I found during this process that I have always been a story teller, and I had spent too many years holding those stories inside of myself. In short, I discovered that I loved writing and began churning out stories and screenplays like never before.

My weight loss adventures with my personal trainer, Nate, turned into my first book, “My Fitness Butler”, a weight loss memoir and popular motivational book on Kindle. My return to school became a BFA in Film/Video and Theater from UCD and multiple award winning films and music videos. My life, with my two daughters, has bloomed into a rich, creative, happy world that I honestly did not imagine was possible during those dark and depressing times.

I continue to tell stories and make films and, quite frankly, don’t plan on stopping any time soon. My first feature film co-written and co-directed with my sister, titled “Feet”, will be released in late 2014 and my most recent fiction book release is part of a Cougar Romance series, a novel titled “The Quiet of Spring”. I developed the Cougar Romance series on the idea that many women think their life is over once they’ve reached their late 30′s. I can tell you that my life didn’t even begin until then – and the characters in the stories find themselves reawakening as well.

I tell stories because I want to inspire people to live healthier emotional and physical lives and to follow their passion in life. I continue to write helpful, inspirational books (both fiction and non-fiction) that move people through their toughest challenges so they can build the life of their dreams.
