It allows me to live and work where I please. As long as I have an internet connection, I’m good to go.

I’ve worked everywhere from a hotel room in Barcelona, Spain; to a cafe in Stockholm, Sweden; to a farmhouse in Cordoba, Argentina; to a condo in St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands. As far as work, I feel like the luckiest girl alive most days.

I’m also a marathon runner. I’ve completed two full and 8 half marathons (three of them being the Reggae Marathon in Negril). I’m always training for the next one (assuming the old knees hold up).

I stepped out of bed this morning without delay excited for a Monday morning; this has been my routine since the second day of school Senior year, unlike the way I felt the day before.
The first day of school, I walked in, tired of football, girl drama, and worrying about what the future holds. I walked the hall, debating my options on the way to my elective, Journalism, which I chose as an easy option. I continued my path, a daunting task when surrounded by cheerleaders fighting for my attention. Clueless, them, not me, a talent I developed freshmen year when I started playing varsity football while fighting off the senior girls. I learned how to seem interested. I have perfected the technique; I am a master at it. I am not a jerk or even a bad guy. I have not found a girl in this school that holds my interest; it is as simple as that. Until that day first period Journalism, breaking away from the group as the sound of the second bell rings, I made my excuses, walking into the classroom as if I owned the place. Another technique I had developed which hid my insecurity in this life, to all outside appearances, I am calm and confident when I am in all reality nervous as a kindergartner on his first day of school. I plastered my best one, a smirking smile working for me as I heard the collective gasps from the girls as I strolled into the room that is until I listened to her voice, rendering me speechless.
“Good morning Mr. Raines. How nice of you to join us.”
My eyes met hers, halting me in my tracks. With a pounding heart, dry mouth, and I was utterly silent. It could not have been but a second before I heard a clearing of a throat, witnessing as she pointed towards an empty seat, but to me, it felt as if hours had passed where I was lost, caught up in the spell. I found my voice.
“Good morning. Miss?”
“Mrs. Stephenson.”
My heart did this strange flip-flop while my gut churned, causing some crazy sea-sickness feeling as I am rocking in powerful waves. I take my seat supporting my jaw in my hand while my eyes roamed over every single inch of her body while she spoke. Her shiny brown hair reminding me of the warm chocolate sauce, my mom used to make and her eyes I am guessing hazel similar to mine, but when the light hits them from the large window, I swear they are green. She is tall but not too crazy tall; athletic built with very soft curves. She isn’t dressed sexy like some of the other teachers, a simple skirt molded across her hips and legs. Her shirt looks silky, short sleeves showing off her toned arms and I watch her every move hoping for her to bend enough for a glimpse of her breasts but the shirt hugs just below her collarbone.
I shift in my seat on the hard plastic chair having to remove my eyes from grazing her body if I don’t, I am threatening to break through my zipper.
That was the first day of school, the beginning of September. It is now March, and I continue to get excited each Monday morning because I know today I will get to see Mrs. Stephenson. I see her each morning starting our day. “Good Morning Mrs. Stephenson.”
“Good Morning Mr. Raines.”
Her cheeks blush as her feet move her past me down the hall, and once again, I am content today. I am still here, previous plans intact, except I have added a new goal to my mission for graduation night, to show Mrs. Stephenson how I feel about her.

Tito has spent over 10 years as an attorney in child welfare advocating for children’s well-being, helping reunite families, strengthening family bonds and finding new homes for children without parents through adoption. As a witness to the unconditional love that pets give, he wants to share that same joy with children and families through Pooch ‘n’ Kitties.

Prior to his law career in child welfare, Tito, was first a director and choreographer of a multitude of live shows across the U.S. and abroad for many years, In 1990 Tito then enjoyed a long 10-year chapter performing on Broadway, making his debut in a musical recreation of James Clavell’s novel Shogun: The Musical. Without pause he joined the cast of Miss Saigon in 1991 having performed with Jonathan Pryce and Lea Salonga. He left Miss Saigon when offered the role of King Simon of Legree in Jerome Robbins’ “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” ballet, in the 1996 Broadway Revival of The King and I with Lou Diamond Philips, Donna Murphy, Faith Prince, and Marie Osmond. After its closure in 1998, Tito returned to Miss Saigon, this time on its National Tour as its swing and dance captain until its closure in 2000. Two weeks later, Tito began his studies in law.

Feeling disconnected from life and searching for balance, Tito reconnected with the arts – this time with a focus in songwriting and producing. In 2017, Tito launched his independent record label Visionary Quest Records, creating and producing its own brand of music. Although initially classified within the dance genres, Tito’s music catalog’s growth has expanded its reach into cinematic, modern classical, orchestral, and new age genres. Its expanding musical diversity is defined by one mantra. “There is a story in every song, but the music holding this story is not complete until it finds its significant other, the listener who will cherish its message.” He believes that this is true for all artists’ creative works.

Tito’s published works reflect his diverse background. His published works include a law review article Digital Compensation: Recording Artists’ Collective Fight for Just Compensation 31. SW. U. L. REV. 701 (2002) that was published in 2002 by Southwestern University Law School’s Entertainment Law Review Journal in Los Angeles, California. Feeling the need to reconnect with the arts and creativity, Tito wrote and designed the graphic art and photo eBook Creating Yourself to Be the Man that You Desire with Courage, Motivation, and Inspiration published in 2016. It depicts his thoughts, poetry, and process of self-healing after leaving the adversarial driven nature of being a trial lawyer. He also wrote and designed the graphic arts and photo eBook: Thinking of You: For Your Man, Your Boo, or Simply Just You also published in 2016 as a tribute to love. In March and April of 2017, in honor of his Father and Mother, Tito composed and produced original orchestral works to pave the way for his upcoming orchestral album Tears from My Eyes: Song from Soul released in March of 2017. These original musical works have been published with their full score and instrumental parts on Sheet Music Plus and Score Exchange. They can be found under the following titles: 1) Tears from My Eyes: Remember Your Feelings (For Orchestra); 2) Tears from My Eyes: Reflection and Contemplation (For Flute Choir); and 3) Tears from My Eyes: Mourning in the Rain (For Clarinet Choir). Lastly, in April 2019, Calvendo published the calendar version of Pooch ‘n’ Kitties.

Whether Tito is creating through choreography, composing music, art, or writing, Tito finds that his inspiration to create comes from his passions and life circumstances, sometimes at a moment’s notice or after a period of deep gestation.

Many centuries ago the Elders designed the world we live in, but they knew that through time and the advances in medicine and technology, the world would slowly start to die and man would ultimately destroy the planet. I almost wish I hadn’t gone down the rabbit hole, and yet, and yet…”
“Down the rabbit hole” has become a term used for referring to a situation that is strange, confusing, or illogical, often mystical or magical, and, in this story, an encounter from which one will emerge with increased knowledge, widened horizons, enriched imagination, and a sense of greatly enlarged possibilities.
In Carroll’s sequel to Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass (1871), near the end of her encounter with the White Queen, Alice protests that “one can’t believe impossible things.” The White Queen famously retorts, “I daresay you haven’t had much practice. When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”
Unlike the White Queen, I do not advocate believing impossible things. But it is much to be hoped that this short story and the anthology that follows it will encourage the reader to consider all the possibilities and therefore believe at least one anomalous thing—perhaps even “before breakfast.”
This charming fantasy will have you and your children engaged and laughing. Even better, it will leave them with the message that they have within them all the spirit and magic they’ll ever need.
