Tessa Buckley grew up in the countryside just outside London. She was an inveterate scribbler, and spent much of her childhood writing and illustrating stories. After leaving school she studied Interior Design at Chelsea College of Art and spent the next few years working for architects and designers in London, before a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis forced her to give up her career. Leaving school at the age of fourteen, Owen travelled around New Zealand on a working holiday. Then at the age of seventeen joined the Royal New Zealand Airforce, where he spent eleven years on different bases including a time overseas.

I almost wish I hadn’t gone down the rabbit hole, and yet, and yet…”
“Down the rabbit hole” has become a term used for referring to a situation that is strange, confusing, or illogical, often mystical or magical, and, in this story, an encounter from which one will emerge with increased knowledge, widened horizons, enriched imagination, and a sense of greatly enlarged possibilities.
In Carroll’s sequel to Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass (1871), near the end of her encounter with the White Queen, Alice protests that “one can’t believe impossible things.” The White Queen famously retorts, “I daresay you haven’t had much practice. When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”
Unlike the White Queen, I do not advocate believing impossible things. But it is much to be hoped that this short story and the anthology that follows it will encourage the reader to consider all the possibilities and therefore believe at least one anomalous thing—perhaps even “before breakfast.”

Author Bio:
Kevin Bradley lives in England, and has travelled all over the world. He tries to bring many of his own personal observations and adventures into his novels.

The author spent all of his teenage years either at boarding school or living on military bases. The frequently exciting, and often cruel experiences from this period are clearly reflected in his writing.

Before turning to storytelling, Kevin had a successful business career and, as well as an Honours Degree in Social Economics, he also holds an MBA from the Edinburgh Business School.

When not writing he enjoys mountain biking, and road running.

About the awakening

JC Maxwell boarding school in Surrey UK; that is where Diana 15 years old have been sent, along with five of her friends. She is charged with a mission by her mother; to find the reason for some unexplained disturbance. What she did not expect to find was a series of murders and school staffs with strange behaviours. Subsequently, the parties responsible for the murders are intrigued and disturbed by those new students who not only have started to meddle in their affairs but also appear to be more than meets the eye. While the two groups are clashing, the only thing everybody agrees on is that no one is in Surrey for the reason they claim to be.
