Gisela (Gigi) Sedlmayer was born on 19 May 1944 in Potsdam, a suburb of Berlin in Germany.
Her family escaped to the West just before the infamous wall went up. They moved around in Germany, following where her dad got work. That meant she had to change 9 times schools. In the end she never had friends again, of fear, she will lose them again.
Finally, they settled in Munich where Gigi studied architectural drafting and met Albert in 1965, marrying in December 1967. She worked as a civil drafts-person in various private consultancies in Munich.
Since her uncle was a writer, she tried to write short animal stories herself. Nothing further came of it, but she developed a love for the written word and started to consume books.
In May 1975, Gigi and her husband moved to New Zealand. Because of language challenges, she started a handcraft business. As a specialty, she made colourful parrots in several sizes of which she sold thousands in a few years.
In 1988, they decided to adopt and became adoptive parents of twin girls the year after. They lived in New Zealand for eighteen years and moved to Australia in September 1992.
One year later Gigi was diagnosed with cancer. After operations and radiation, she withdrew, thinking that she would probably soon be dead, like her friend who died of cancer, but her two little girls gave her the courage to keep going. After a few years, still among the living, her brain started to work again, so she thought, ‘Get a grip on yourself and do something good with your life’.
She remembered the time she wrote short stories and got inspired again, seeing her husband Albert writing the story of their adoption. Her English became increasingly better so she pressed on to develop her creative writing.
Albert taught her how to use a computer and she wrote many short stories. She entered them in competitions and often got very good reports back, which gave her confidence to go on writing. One day the idea for the TALON series came to her and she spent the next several years bringing the story and the characters to life.
She now loves writing and spends most of her time at the computer, developing new story lines. She also loves traveling, 4×4 touring, swimming, gardening, handcrafting, reading, fossicking and enjoys good adventure DVD’s or going to the movies.

My finger traced the outline of a little island on the map; this island was Taiwan, a tiny dot, off the coast of China. At that time, about five years ago I was on another, slightly bigger island. I was in Tasmania. I had just arrived at Little Devil’s Backpackers on an eleven-hour overnight boat crossing to start my new job as a fruit picker. It was here that I made friends with lots of Taiwanese people and vowed that one day I would visit Taiwan.
This book contains stories from my travels across the world including; England, New Zealand, Australia and Taiwan.
I spent a year living and working in New Zealand, followed by two in Australia. In Nov 2015 I made the trip to Taiwan where I spent five weeks travelling, meeting up with friends and volunteering at a yoga retreat centre.

Preforming under the stage name ‘Stiles’ for years, this young author is no stranger to sharing their work with the community. Based in Jacksonville, FL, Stiles is an eighteen year old poet and artist best known for their volunteer work, donated art displays, and performances at the local libraries and cafes.

Author Bio:
Eugene Linn came late to novel writing, and by a circuitous path.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. After that, Linn took a break from literature. A long one.

At the height of the Vietnam War, Linn entered the US Army, where he studied Chinese Mandarin at the Defense Language Institute. Upon leaving the Army, he studied at the University of Kansas, receiving a bachelor’s in Journalism and a master’s in East Asian Studies, with a focus on Chinese language and politics.

Linn went on to be a freelance reporter, working out of Hong Kong for consultant Watson Wyatt Worldwide and numerous news outlets. His specific assignments included writing an annual report on China’s social insurance system for Watson Wyatt Worldwide, and daily Hong Kong stock market reports for UPI. He also got married while working in Hong Kong, and after 31 years, so far, so good.

With the demise of print journalism, Linn went to work at the VA Medical Center in Topeka, Kansas, first as a Housekeeping Aide and then as a Human Resources Assistant. The work was hard, sometimes rewarding, and decidedly unliterary.

After entering semi-retirement, Linn was hit by the literary bug, like a long-dormant virus. He decided to write a novel. It was fun. It turned out to be a reasonably respectable product. Now he has written a sequel. He plans to write more novels in the future.
