Born in Cuba and raised in Central America, R.J. Pineiro spent several years in the midst of civil wars before migrating to the United States in the late 1970s, first to Florida to attended Florida Air Academy in Melbourne. There, RJ earned a pilot’s license and high school diploma in 1979, before heading to Louisiana for college.

R.J. earned a degree in electrical engineering from Louisiana State University in 1983 and joined the high-tech industry in Austin Texas, working in computer chip design, test, and manufacturing.

In the late 1980s R.J. began studying to become a novelist. Reading everything from classical literature to contemporary novels, R.J.’s love of storytelling became uncontrollable. Using an aging personal computer, R.J. decided to launch a writing career.

He wrote the first one in ten minutes, all because it was due the next class period and he’d completely forgotten about it. That story was greeted with laughter and applause by his classmates and teacher. His subsequent assignments garnered even more positive responses, and Ben began to seriously consider writing as a hobby.

A native Floridian, Ben attended Florida Southern College, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, double-majoring in Secondary Education. Ben graduated in 1998, and has been in education ever since.

About The World Through My Dyslexic Eyes

This is my story and my life. I have a goal and dream I have been chasing for over six years now. It all started back on August 6, 2011, when I started writing, and that night I decided I want to become an author. I believe I have a unique story, and I think the world needs to hear it. Just like the world needs to hear all of our stories. I had my struggles and ups and downs just like everyone else. I was definitely down for a long time. Over the years I have found a way and kept battling to make it through my dark tunnel. Even with my learning disabilities, I felt like everything was against me. I realized everything wasn’t against me, I was using it as an excuse and being lazy.

I’m not saying I’m better than anyone else. What makes me different, or at least my opinion Is I finally decided to do something about it. I stopped feeling bad for myself, and letting everything get to me and decided to make a change. I created this blog and website to share my story with you, and try and give back and help people. Mostly kids to not make the same mistakes that I did for years. Wasting this precious gift that we call life, I wished my childhood away and now I’m 28.

I’m still working and trying to figure out what my purpose is and what’s next. I think now I can finally say after all of this time, I’m starting to understand life and the direction I’m heading. I’ll admit, Peter A. Harrower is not a household name YET. If you’re going to have a dream and goal, then you should make it big enough that it scares you. It should be worth fighting for. If nothing else hopefully I can give you that little extra push to keep going and keep fighting.

Ever since I was a boy I always thought, I was different. Well, it’s because I am. I have a Learning Disability and Dyslexia. Most of the time I felt like I wasn’t normal. I don’t think I’ll ever be normal because I had trouble reading and writing, you name it. I sucked at academics in school.

I tried to be normal like every other kid, but I couldn’t be, I’m not normal. Compared to everybody I felt like an outsider. Kids would always ask why are you in those extra classes and getting extra help? This led to a lot of unwanted attention. That led to more unwanted feelings, embarrassment, and a lack of confidence in myself, which still affects me to this day at 28.

As time went by I was always looking for answers and trying to figure out this game we call life. That is when the depression and anger started to come around. There was no light at the end of the tunnel for me. It was pitch black and went on and on. As the tunnel kept going, I started to get a little darker and deader inside.

In the last few years, I have started to see light at the end of the tunnel. Whatever is in my way, I need to face it head on like a man. I can run away with my tail between my legs, or suck it up and fight back for once in my life.

I hope this book will help kids or young adults that feel lost or even think they are different or an outsider like me. I was put in these situations because I know first-hand what it’s like. Sharing my story and being this vulnerable is a small price to pay for the greater good.
Average or below average has been what I thought of myself my whole life. I’m now aiming for something bigger and better than average. In the last four and a half years I have read 48 books and in the last seven written three books. I decided to turn the page in my own book and turn my lack of skills in reading and writing into a strength. Life is not a guarantee and life is short. I’m Dan Eitreim and I worked as a professional photographer running my own photo studio for over 20 years. I’ve never apprenticed or worked for any other photographers. Because of this, I’ve had to learn and develop my photography skills on my own.
