In the name of God: prophets were transformed into politicians, only some are God’s children, millions were and are murdered, and meaningless rituals were and are synthetically born.
In the name of God: The one world was divided into multiple, people are pitted against people, segments of the earth are holier than the whole, and buildings have more value than the Master.
Or perhaps, I’m mistaken, and God truly did inspire the many divisions between religions and the many denominations within. Maybe, I’m mistaken, and God truly did inspire evil things like the crusades, the spiritual decimation of the First Nations, the Spanish Inquisitions, Euro-centric motivations, the attack on the Americans, slavery, doomsday predictions, and forceful conversions.
Religions have behaved corruptly and that’s led many reasonable people to walk away from religion. However, as they turned their back, they unwittingly walked away from The Great Architect. Unable to distinguish between religion and The Formless, before examining the other religious doctrines to possibly fill-in the blanks created by the corruption, they claim that the entirety of religions are out-to-lunch and this idea of God must also be a false construct.
Religious corruption has inspired many persons to the cave of the agnostic. Some managed to crawl back out and others are still stuck in the darkness. Until a Divine intervention or thoughts reach an absolute conclusion, the cave will remain a truth within the mind of the betrayed.
To provide the first is not in my power, but with the second, I think I can help. Thoughts at a near-end tend to interpret the corruption as separate from the heavens, and the division provides a much more reasonable perspective. Religious practices and doctrine examined after the partition have the potential to reveal The Great Architect. “Secrets of Religion” provides ample examples of the corruption and I’m hoping those examples will frame the religious ethos that might not be truthful.

Gary Webb has filled his life with variety and opportunities for personal growth and the enrichment of others. He is a graduate of four universities and seminaries. He retired from service in the U.S. Navy in 1996 and full-time pastoral ministry in 2013. In those roles, he has counseled with hundreds of people concerning personal finances and substance abuse, marriage and parenting, career guidance and spiritual growth. His wife Jane experienced a traumatic automobile accident in 2008, giving them tremendous life challenges that continue to this day. Ironically, he had just completed his doctorate in theology a few months before her wreck. That accident also has produced greater insight into the problems faced by so many families as they address health issues. While caring for his wife during her recovery, Gary has discovered a new way to share with others through writing. It has also become a means to connect with authors around the world. Q – So, what makes the Reverend Annabelle Dixon series special?
A – Annabelle. When I set out to write these books, I wanted to create a series that featured a heart-warming, smart, sometimes ditzy, ultimately good protagonist that we all undisputedly adore. I love mysteries so there was no question this character was going to be involved in solving them and I set it in the Cornish countryside, right at the end of England, where I have fond memories of vacations as a child.
But it is Annabelle – her humanity, her empathy, her big heart – who makes the series so special. With her sometimes partner, sometimes antagonist, Inspector Mike Nicholls, they create fun and drama as the small town mysteries unfold with humor and intrigue.
If you enjoy the TV series, The Vicar of Dibley, Miranda, or Midsomer Murders, I think you will enjoy the Reverend Annabelle cozy mysteries series.
Q – In what order should I read the books?
