As a professional Trainer, I have held up to five different exercise and nutrition certifications, and have been coaching others for almost a decade.
In an effort to continually develop my skills and grow personally, I have made myself a student of leadership, management, sales, communication, relationships, and, of course, exercise and nutrition. I had a dog named,”Snoopy.” My nickname for him was Snoopy, Professor of Bones. Its great to have a pet, and for me, dogs make wonderful pets.
I have read a lot of children’s stories to my children and grandchildren and I came up with an idea to write a book/coloring book because I noticed after reading a story, children just love to draw and color what they read.

My Alaska connection
Have you ever wanted to visit Alaska? I was fortunate enough to have been born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska.
As part Alaskan Athapascan Indian, I heard stories while growing up in Alaska.
Story telling has been a part of my family for hundreds of years. My mother Feodoria,
an Athapascan Indian (who was once the chief of our village) was born in 1925 at
Point Possession, Alaska. And over the years I heard the most wonderful and
heartbreaking stories about her family.
I’ve heard stories as far back as I can remember, I’m so proud of my mother and my great heritage, I feel so enriched being a descendent and this has made my life so interesting.
My father Simon Samis (Big Sammy) was a soldier in World War I. Worked on the Alaska Railroad as a car repairman along with my mother who also worked for the Alaska Railroad. I
love to ride trains. He was Greek and came from a large family. The meals he cooked were so good and he made the best coffee. I learned a lot from both of my parents.
When I was 11 years old, my mother Feodoria “volunteered” me to start babysitting the neighborhood children. I was the youngest of 8 and was the one that cared for the nieces and nephews.
When I was a senior in high school my first paying job was an afternoon child attendant at the “Montessori School” and I loved it!
In 1967 I met by future husband, Mike when I was a dancer on a live teen dance program called “The Varsity Show.”
The program was a local version of “American Bandstand” except all the main crew
positions were run by high school students. The owner of KTVA TV wanted to help
local youth get their start by working “hands on” and earning a scholarship.
Those 3 years were very educational and helped prepare me for working as a background actor in television and movies in Hollywood. I’m in a lot of TV shows. You’ve probably seen me. I’m somewhere behind or around the main actors.
So there it is, that’s my story.

At the age of 15 in 1955 I went to sea as a midshipman, and travelled the world including some remote islands such as the Galapagos and Pitcairn’s. When I came ashore London was in the grip of the swinging 60’s and I made my living as a singer/guitarist and met many of the people who went on to become household names such as Diz Disley & stephan Grapelli, Billy Conelly and Gerry Rafferty, Paul Simon, Elton John Eric Clapton and Brian May, and many others.
My music agent got me an equity card and I did a lot of film and TV extra work. One day while working as an extra, the main actor grabbed me by the throat to throw me to the ground, but he put a ‘choke hold’ on me, unfortunately for him I was fully trained in unarmed combat and threw him over my shoulder. The Director was not best pleased, but the Stunt Co-ordinator asked me where I had learnt the move. When I told him, I joined his stunt team an worked on many shows like Moonstrike and Z cars, plus several films including ‘The Thin Red Line’, with Kerin Moore in Spain.
Most summers I headed for the coast and worked as a Life Guard on a beach or racing some rich mans yacht for about £7.50 a week.
One day I was asked to lay some mooring for the local boatyard. He paid me £400 and I realised that diving paid better than singing so in 1964 I became one of only 200 Officially Registered Commercial Divers working in the UK.
In 1966 the Offshore Oil Industry required divers and for the next 40 years I travelled the world, and dived up to 750feet and did saturation dives that lasted over 43 days. During that time I worked and lived in 38 different countries as far apart as Borneo and Brazil, Norway and South Africa, most of the Middle East and the Carribean.
I started writing in 1974 during an exceptionally long 43 day saturation dive. Having read every book on the rig, I decided to write my own. It was in long hand, ran to 100,000 words and was a load of rubbish. When came a shore, a close friend Benita Brown suggested we both join the Kartherine Cookson Northern Writers Group.
I had some early success selling 3 plays for TV and writing articles for local papers.
However divorce; the pressure of work, and the amount of travelling I was doing did not give me a lot of chance to seek publication though I continued to write for my own pleasure.
I retired to Majorca in 2010 and was asked to start a creative writers circle; the sheer enthusiam of my members gave me the urge to look at some of my old work again.
Since then I have published nine books.
Writing has always been my way of relaxing; I find it so absorbing that everything else fades until I find myself totallty imersed with my characters and their lives.
