“Please…” She couldn’t get the words out. The thought of Martin Strong on the floor on the other side of her desk made her stomach churn. “I can’t go back in there!”
She struggled to break the hold he had on her wrist. He was too big and strong to win against in a struggle, but if she could manage to pull away, speed might be on her side.
“Why not?” He pushed her further into the room. “What are you hiding?”
“Nothing…”
He gave a dissatisfied grunt. “Let me be the judge of that. Something’s going on and I intend to find out what it is.”
Helplessly, Annie watched as he shined the flashlight around the small office until the beam landed on a pair of shoes. Her heart sank. The more he pushed her into the room the more she strained against his unyielding form. He halted when they were close enough to see Martin’s body slumped against the wall, the beam of light zeroing in on the nice neat bullet hole in his chest.
“Damn…” he whispered against her ear as they stood above Martin.
Unbelievably, Annie felt his hold around her wrist begin to relax. She took advantage of his momentary lapse and slammed her heel down on top of his foot. He swore a blue streak when she pulled away from him. She heard the flashlight drop to the floor but didn’t let it stop her from her desperate flight.
She almost reached the door but it was over before it began. He caught up to her in the office doorway. She let out a blood-curdling scream when his hand tangled in her hair. Before she knew it, she was hauled back into his arms.
He slammed her against the wall and pinned her there with his body. Breathing hard, he took a moment to catch his breath. “No wonder you were in a hurry to get out of here,” he rasped, close to her face. “Who’s the stiff, honey?”
“You don’t understand!” Annie cried out desperately. She strained against his hold. “I was going for the police.” She had to make him understand.
“Yeah right, and I’m Santa Claus. That’s why you were running away.”

You’ll often hear me refer to myself as a grandma who writes smut. I’m simply a mother and grandmother who discovered my passion for writing and story telling at the ripe old age of ten. Before I received my first manual typewriter, with pencil in hand, I would jot my stories down on notebook paper. Later, after receiving that desired typewriter at the age of thirteen I spent hours in my bedroom, where my parents thought I was doing homework. Writing turned out to be a kind of therapy for me, something I didn’t realize until years later.
I was born in Maine, where most of my family still live today in the small town of China. However, most of my life I’ve lived in Florida where I attended school, married and raised my daughter.
Writing is a hobby for me, and even though I’ve retired from Disney it remains a hobby. I’m happy to be just making enough “mad money” from it to be able to keep my cats fed, travel a little, and spoil my grandchildren.
I like to travel. Some of the places I’ve been to are: Greece, Italy, Croatia, Spain, Bahamas, France, and Alaska just to name a few. I don’t like to fly, even before I found myself on a plane on 9/11, but I will if I’m given enough legal drugs. My favorite vacation spot in Florida is St. Augustine.
I love chocolate, who doesn’t? And I’m addicted to good coffee and sweet ice tea. McDonald’s hazelnut iced coffee has been on my favorite list for quite some time. So has Dunkin Donuts mocha iced coffee.
For a while (many years actually) life got in the way of my dreams. A few years ago, with the encouragement of my family, I decided to get serious and I haven’t looked back!

I have always been a fan of the classic pulp science fiction genre, by which I am referring to the ‘Buster’ Crabbe Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers series. Ray guns and Rocket ships – no profanity, eroticism or hard hitting social messages which seem to pervade current entertainment. Just nice, entertaining romps into a fantastical future to entertain the brain cells for a while!
In short I wanted to write a tale which my eldest daughter (who at time of writing this is 12) could pick up and read, or could tell her friends about and suggest they read it, without any form of censorship but which would also appeal to a wider audience too.
Does this make it a children’s book? Absolutely not.
There’s political schemes, dastardly plots and undertones of larger topics such as how the different colonies interact, the rampant commercialism and much more – but I’ve tried to put it in a form which means you can take from it what you wish. If you want a deep meaningful exploration of the socio-political worlds of the 23rd Century then go for it! if you just want mis-adventure and people trying to survive against a backdrop of a solar system in turmoil, laser pistols firing, defeating maniacal robots and foiling plots of evil-doers then again be my guest.
The main point is I am just writing stories which entertain and amuse my tiny grey cells. I’m not trying to write ‘like anyone’ or claiming to be a proficient author of top notch epic tales. I just write what I like and how I like. If you like them too, then that’s wonderful! I always love hearing feedback from people who have read any of my stories as it helps me to refine and improve as necessary.
I do hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Multiple old and unique artifacts are stolen from a local museum. Policemen Davis and Wood are called to investigate, because the museum is situated in Stronghill, and the missing artifacts are part of the heritage of Wood’s tribe.
The artifacts are of special importance to the tribe, because of their use in ancient rituals. Wood feels that the crime is something committed against the very soul of his people. For the first time, Detective Davis visits the tribe’s sacred grounds, and meets with Wood’s family.
Sergeant Charlie Wood (Muraco – White Moon) is part of the Haida tribe, which is one of the Alaskan Athabascan Indian Group tribes. His grandmother (Wenona – First born daughter) is one of the leaders of their clan. The missing artifacts, an ancient totem pole, a canoe, and a number of smaller items (Chilkat weaving and ornate jewelry), are part of the clan’s history, and they are ready to do anything to bring them back. The investigation takes them deep into the Alaskan forests and high up in the mountains. Davis meets with some of Wood’s childhood friends, among them a beautiful woman, Chenoa (Dove), who wants to bring back the old ways of life.
Chenoa had just lost her father, who had been buried in the lineage grave house, waiting to be placed in a mortuary pole. Davis and Wood are present when the pole is erected and the potlatch is held to honor the deceased and to recognize his successor. The belief in reincarnation is behind the ceremony, and Davis starts to suspect that it is also the reason behind the stealing. According to the Haida beliefs, the soul of the deceased is transported by a canoe to the Land of the Souls, where it awaits reincarnation.
As it turned out, Chenoa stole the artifacts to use them for her father’s burial ceremony. She is determined to take back everything that ever belonged to her tribe and people, and is even ready to commit a crime in order to do so. Davis and Wood easily find out who stands behind the robbery, and give them a chance to do the right thing. Chenoa and her friends return the artifacts back, and the detective keeps his word and doesn’t arrest them.

The Story Starts
For the newlyweds in the silver Corolla, it was another beautiful day. The afternoon sun was shining brightly through a lightly clouded Queensland sky. The traffic was almost non-existent. And they were in love.
