In many works the skulls are accompanied by other elements, they are part of a skeleton, and in others, they are centered only in themselves, as the only object of the work. Without giving place to doubts, the skulls are one subject matter preferred by the artists and fanatics of tattoos, and as we mention previously, they been present in all the styles.
The good thing about this work is that we can observe the different phases of the process of the creation of a tattoo, since it takes its reference from sketches, drawings and paintings, to an element as important as the photographs of skulls, that give us the possibility to take the reference directly from the real object, permitting us a greater degree of artistic liberty.
The photographs are thus a very valuable work that can be utilized as a source of inspiration. Finally, at the end of the book, a sample of tattoos where we will be able to see the final product of the work on the skin, that is without doubt, one of the most complicated parts of the process.

Born in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England John moved to a remote hill farm at the age of eight. “No electricity, no phone, primitive plumbing, school a two mile walk away and the local bus service ran on Tuesday.”After a private education where he accidentally set fire to the school, John went to University in Newcastle and then became a chemistry teacher for eleven years. “I got bored. Nothing I taught was developed after 1920.” In 1980 he got his hands on a computer and was immediately hooked. At that time things were changing rapidly and John changed to teaching Information Technology. In 1997 John started talking to Shelia on Internet. A cross Atlantic relationship developed and Shelia came to the UK in December of that year. The following year John went to the US. “We would have lived in England or the US but neither country’s immigration department would co-operate. We ended up as illegal immigrants in Canada for three years. We made our living selling Web pages but at times we were completely broke. After getting married in 1999 it took another two years to get back to the UK.”John returned to teaching in 2001. Shelia sat at home getting bored and started writing. “She asked me to help her with a book she was writing about nanotechnology and gene therapy and again I got hooked in something new.”The first draft of ‘A Vested Interest’ was completed in 2007.So what’s it all about?The series is based on the need for mankind to move outward from the Earth if we are to survive as a species. At our current level of technology that’s actually possible but two things need to be changed. First, we need to extend human lifespan dramatically. Using genetic technology that really is possible! The first person to live to 1,000 is probably alive now. Second, we need to stop squandering our resources and efforts on fighting and killing each other. The Earth’s population as a whole don’t actually want to do this. In the series we postulate that a secret organisation of powerful people are the cause of much of the strife. This cabal control governments and make more money by having the world at war. A Vested Interest suggests that the only way to turn things around is to have a more profitable enterprise for this ‘Order’ to turn their efforts towards.
