Dawn Chandler is an award winning author born in Coffeyville, Kansas. She recently had the opportunity to visit there with her husband, and she very much enjoyed the Dalton Museum. She always thought she should have been born in the Wild West. She moved to Idaho when she was 6 and grew up on Murtaugh Lake, where her father was the dam keeper and the ditch rider. She spent her days in the lake, swimming, catching fish and tadpoles, from sunup to sundown most days. Not hard to imagine that her first full length novel was about a mermaid. At nights she would spend her time watching football with her dad or cooking with her mom. In 8th grade she had a teacher, Mrs. Smith, who wanted her to publish one of her short stories. Looking back on it she says she should have done so. If she had, she would have been an author before now, but she was not ready to be published back then. When she first started writing in class she hated it. She had to write their way and only their way—in the correct process, outline, rough draft, and so on. Chandler has learned in the progressing years that she is a seat-of-the-pants author, but in the beginning she just thought that writing was not for her. She could not, no matter how she tried, get the outline done. She could not sit and sketch out a whole story from beginning to end. She found quickly that if she just sat and wrote, she could get the first draft out without a problem, but the teachers didn’t want her to do it that way. She really began to love writing when she met Mrs. Smith and she told Chandler that she could write it in whichever order she wanted. She understood her as a writer and didn’t push her to be something she wasn’t. She has been writing ever since.
She is grateful to have the support of her husband and children. Together they have 7. She loves them all dearly and is happy to have them in her life. Now that her kids are all grown up, she likes to spend time on the semi-truck with my husband seeing the country. She loves visiting all the small towns and is grateful to all the nice people she has met. She enjoys swimming, camping, four wheeling with her 4 X 4 group, spending time with family and friends, hiking, writing (of course), drawing, painting, reading (a vastly wide list of authors, her favorite though is Stephen King), and she loves taking pictures as she travels the countryside (if she is lucky and they are not in a big hurry and can even stop to take them). Today she is busily writing her novels, that will be released as time and her muse allows

The writing journey that has accumulated in the Life is a Beautiful Thing series began with Nanowrimo in 2011. While on its surface the series may seem shocking – both through its imagery and through its usage of multiple languages, vulgarities, violence, sexual orientations and seemingly random hallucinatory passages – weeks upon weeks were put into the conceptualization of this series. While some words may seem invented, they’re not. While some concepts may seem over the top, many are heavily grounded in reality. What the book really is, if I can say as much, is a graphic, sexually-charged, gory way to begin a discussion on machine-learning. Yes, we are a way’s off from singularity, but that doesn’t mean the topic won’t become increasingly relevant as we press forward into the future.
In Life is a Beautiful Thing I hope to capture everything from the hallucinatory prose of Hunter S. Thompson, to the techno-irony of Philip K. Dick and Vonnegut, to the sheer literary abandon of Henry Miller and William S. Burroughs and the genre-neutral works of David Mitchell and Karen Russell. The writing journey that has accumulated in the Life is a Beautiful Thing series began with Nanowrimo in 2011. While on its surface the series may seem shocking – both through its imagery and through its usage of multiple languages, vulgarities, violence, sexual orientations and seemingly random hallucinatory passages – weeks upon weeks were put into the conceptualization of this series. While some words may seem invented, they’re not. While some concepts may seem over the top, many are heavily grounded in reality. What the book really is, if I can say as much, is a graphic, sexually-charged, gory way to begin a discussion on machine-learning. Yes, we are a way’s off from singularity, but that doesn’t mean the topic won’t become increasingly relevant as we press forward into the future.
In Life is a Beautiful Thing I hope to capture everything from the hallucinatory prose of Hunter S. Thompson, to the techno-irony of Philip K. Dick and Vonnegut, to the sheer literary abandon of Henry Miller and William S. Burroughs and the genre-neutral works of David Mitchell and Karen Russell. If I succeed even halfway in this endeavor I consider it a triumph. Thank you for taking the time to read this and get ready for the ride of your life.

I first thought it would be a great idea to collaborate with my daughter and some times my necies and nephew when I have time. As a child I love paper and books. In fact, my first book I enjoyed was the Holy Bible. A child who had an spiritual experience, I always put God in my creations. That mean if one fiction book is written for entertainment than another is made for my love of the creator.
My writing did not come as easy as others. I was a slower child when it came to reading and writing. In fact, I found myself taking two reading classes and English in middle school. The love of music I started to write song lyrics. I continue to write in high school trying out a novel. I made sure Creative Writing was an elective. My contest I won was Que Pasa magazine in 1989/1990 from my favorite groups The Jets. I start getting more into poetry in Creative Writing. I done it as a hobby as I worked with children in daycares, library, hospitals, and subbing at local school district. While attending entering college course at a State College Lamar Port Arthur I was reward as an Honorable Mention for an assignment I just did to pass class.
So while raising my daughter and spending time with the little ones in my family I taught them as much as I know. More I learn I teach even more to them. Now finally people can read our books and mines on amazon. My favorite thing to inspire stories is listening to music, writing lyrics, something sweet for the tooth. After every completed book is a glass of Sparkling Welch Grape Juice. I love also writing about Texas or connecting my birth home to stories. My website I have some music I written. Many people advance different in their writing talents. I actually started by writing song lyrics and now I love it all.
