I live and work in the San Francisco Bay Area and have been here since 1999. Before that I lived many places. I was born in New Orleans and spent my childhood in Louisiana and Georgia. Since then I’ve lived in New York, Florida, Arkansas, and even Munich, Germany for a year. I have a degree in Studio Art with a minor in Technical Theatre, but later decided I wanted to help people by being a clinical psychologist. Recently, I decided to combine my passion and interest in good erotic fiction with my love for writing. My long suffering spouse is my biggest supporter. Ze along with our three dogs and two cats are what keep me sane and enjoying life.

Who Do They Think They Are?
Watching those programs on TV about different people looking into their ancestral past, and seemingly becoming very upset about certain individuals in their pedigree, he wondered about how much their emotions had been stirred by forebears, such as cousins, grandparents and even great grandparents. After all they had never met them or never even knew about their existence previous to their research. The tears, regrets and often anger that became evident on the screen betrayed how delicate feelings may often lie very near the surface.
At the same time he had been reading Winston Churchill’s volumes about the Second World War and also reading about the Battle of the Bulge, of Band of Brothers fame. It occurred to G J Griffiths: What if someone was looking into their ancestry and discovered that their forefather was involved in plot to assassinate a famous general from WW2? What if that general was George S Patton who was so vital in relieving the US troops trapped in the Battle of the Bulge? He had read that Patton often could be a thorn in the side of his senior officers at that time.
And so he created three pivotal fictional characters around this idea of unpleasant discovery; of an assassination plot involving the father of Chris Squires. The father he never knew dashes his hopes to the ground. How would Chris feel? How would he react? Once the author started writing the story the characters took over and he had to continue the tale where they took it! It became his first novel, Fallen Hero.
When GJ started writing Fallen Hero he was already well into the collection of stories later to become his second book: So What! Stories or Whatever! But the general direction of the plot and many of the characters were not properly formed at that time. Then along came the idea for Fallen Hero and that took over for the next 18 months or so!
Originally, after he had retired from teaching GJ just wanted to write and write about many of the kids he had taught and tell his readers about some of their hilarious tales. But after a while he realised that so many of the stories would be tinged with sadness or tragedy or poignant moments, and that it was not going to be just another “book of funny stories”. If he was going to include some of the difficulties that the kids’ teachers also faced, many times a day sometimes, then he had to also write about why they wanted to come into education, and more importantly, why they were determined to stay in it!
So Robert Jeffrey was “born” and his story is gradually unfolded and woven between the collection of students’ stories. Robert’s determination to become what he feels is a “good teacher” became a main theme throughout the book. There was a danger then that the book would become a continuous whinge from yet another cynical, grumbling teacher. Enter Kyle Crabbe, the bully, and some of the tales begin to have a sinister theme to them! With that stage set it meant that G J could lead the reader up a path that would allow a twist to it! Be surprised – be very surprised!
Some of the books that Robert Jeffrey had read and that had inspired him to want to teach coincided, strangely enough, with some of the list that G J Griffiths had also valued. It was a list that included: R Delderfield’s “To Serve Them All My Days”, Thomas Hughes’ “Tom Brown’s Schooldays”, D H Lawrence’s “The Rainbow”, E R Braithwaite’s “To Sir with Love”, “Neill! Neill! Orange Peel!”, plus, of course, a couple from The Master – Charles Dickens, such as “Hard Times” and “Nicholas Nickleby”.
G J Griffiths still has many more So What! Stories to tell. Until he had almost finished his second book he hadn’t realised that there was going to be another book-full to come out of his head and onto the written page –– this became So What’s Next! The third book in the So What! series is well under way and will feature the policeman from the first book: Nigel Shantra. But a few years on and the cop is now Detective Shantra!

Chuck Emerson grew up in El Paso, Texas, the oldest of three sons. He sang in the church choir and often a cappella at weddings. He enrolled at Texas Western College (later U T El Paso) before entering the United States Navy where he served four years as a Communications Technician based in the Philippines and Spain. He returned to El Paso, graduated from UTEP and went into the insurance business. Later he was blessed with a very creative son, Stephen Charles “Tzoul Shine” Emerson. Chuck took up racewalking in the early 90’s and later country western dancing.
Chuck was awarded the Navy Unit Commendation and Meritorious Unit Commendation in addition to National Service Medal and Vietnam Service Medal, two stars. He wrote a weekly editorial page column for U.T. El Paso’s student newspaper, The Prospector, for three consecutive years. He served two terms as a member of El Paso City’s Cable Communications Advisory Board, one as chair. Later, as a masters racewalker, he managed a top-ten-ranking for the entire western half of the USA two consecutive years in the 90’s.
He moved to Clear Lake City, Texas (Houston) early in 2003 and now lives a few blocks from the Johnson Space Center. Chuck has been recognized three times as Diplomat of the Year by the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce. He has published six works of fiction and one year won 1st, 2nd, & 3rd prize for short story at the 15th Annual Conference of the Bay Area (Houston) Writers’ League.

After a lifelong career as a working guy I retired from heavy construction as a Boilermaker, a commitment that required me to be available for my on-call assignments that severely limited taking time for vacations or travel. Years ago, I promised my wife, Sharon, that when I retired we would travel, even buy a camper to spend leisure time in as well as pursue whatever we wanted to do. I’ve kept that promise and now we’re enjoying the life of a retired couple and have more than made up for the sacrifices we made to get where we are today.
I also decided to finally follow the advice my high school teachers gave me when I was young and ambitious but hard headed, and that advice was to be a writer. I went from the comfortable world of old fashioned typewriters to learning the digital era of the keyboard and writing software on a tumultuous, stressful journey of teaching a computer what I wanted to appear on the finished work. Sharon dotes on family and home, loves to spend time at our place by a lake, travelling and our favorite thing to do, cruising the Caribbean. I spend time with her as well as fishing, gardening, keeping up with the lawn and a lot of other things. I also spend time at the keyboard. Sometimes there’s no writing for a while and other times it takes a lot to tear me away from it. I also have a good number of R/C planes but have little time to fly them. I like to invite others to fish with me but for the most part I like to fish alone. It’s a good time to reminisce and devote thoughts to my writing. I mostly practice catch and release unless we’re in the mood for a fish dinner.
I truly enjoy making people laugh and I seem to have a never ending way of uttering quips, puns and silly sayings. I never know what I’m going to say most of the time, so my humor is usually spontaneous and off the cuff. Leave ’em laughing and they’ll smile for a while. I enjoy that a lot. I’m also the guy who’ll strike up a conversation with someone I never met before.

I am not an athlete who can train several hours a day with a whole team of nutritionists, and the bottomless food allowance provided by sponsors. I am not a millionaire who can leisurely go to the track to work out. I don’t have a nutritionist/cook to prepare my meals for me. I am, however, a competitive runner.
I am an ordinary Joe, aged 45, with a passion for fitness. I have a full time job so I can only workout 1 hour a day at most during the weekdays and 2, sometimes 3 hours during the weekends. I like to eat takeout, fried foods and pizza; but I do this in moderation. I have finished in the podium in several local running, duathlon, and triathlon events. This means I run 6 to 7 minute miles on long distances, a lot faster during shorter distances.
It took me 4 maybe 5 years to get to this point (165 pounds). Before that, I was an overweight individual. I was 5 feet 10 inches and weighed around 280 pounds, mostly fat and flab. For my height, a healthy weight should be around 150 to 180 pounds. Part of the delay was because I did a lot of experimentation. I had a couple of injuries due to inexperience and sheer stupidity. By my reckoning, if I knew then what I know now, I could have probably done this faster and made it more enjoyable.
To be clear, this eBook is not here to show you how to run 6 minute miles. Although, that will come in time, provided you stay true to the teachings in this eBook, for say 2 years. Save that for your long-term goal. This eBook is here to show you how to get off the couch, slim down and change fat with muscle in 3 to 6 months.
This means you no longer wheeze when you walk from the living room to your garage. You no longer have to stop midway in a flight of stairs. You no longer have a protruding belly that obstructs the view to your one eyed snake. Heck, I was obese for more than 5 years! This meant that my large below obstructed by view from the waist down. 5 bloody years! Heck, I could have declared my one eyed monster legally dead after not seeing it for that long!

Hugh Joseph Lawton’s passion for photography and nature has been a life-long pursuit that has culminated in his current comprehensive, and breathtaking, collection of over 2,500 photographic images from wilderness locations on six continents.
Hugh’s first encounter with the western wilderness began in the 1970’s when he moved to Randle, Washington. In this small town in the Washington Cascades, he lived on a 79-acre homestead in Gifford Pinchot national forest. Two years later, his thirty-year quest exploring the California wilderness was set in motion. Today, of the more than 150 wilderness areas he has photographed, 65 of them are in California.
Coming from a background of manicured environments and logic Hugh was enthralled with the wilderness lands that had not been modified by the hand of man – the random beauty of nature. He experienced the Oneness in the natural world, which reinforced his long standing anthropological and philosophical interests. Following the track of the Nature Conservancy, he began his pursuit in extending “wilderness consciousness” beyond the physical boundaries of the wilderness areas. His goal is to document the wilderness vistas that were common to ancient man.

The greater part of my life has been spent in the Southwest, a good bit of it in the back-country. I grew up with the Navajo, went to school with them, and later worked alongside them, forging enduring friendships along the way. Those friendships became the inspiration for this series. My writing focuses on the people of the Four Corners region, past and present. I tend not to romanticize my characters, preferring instead to paint them as I find them. They have much the same qualities, good and bad, as the rest of us. Though this book is a work of fiction, a concerted effort was made to maintain the accuracy of the culture and people, as I have come to know them. I hope you like them as well as I do.
This story hearkens back to a slightly more traditional time on the reservation, and while the places and culture are real, the characters and their names are fictitious and any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental.

About Gorito and The City of No Return:
Gorito the gorilla is three years old and destined to inherit the primate kingdom from Gajee, his father. But he is kidnapped by Okada, Gajee’s arch-enemy and Godfather to the snakes, and only escapes with help from a friendly cobra.
