When J. A. Cipriano was in second grade, his teacher gave everyone in class a journal to write down whatever they wanted. Their first subject was to write about something they didn’t like. J. A. chose to write about why he didn’t like writing. His reasoning was simple. He had bad handwriting. Even then, he was destined to be an engineer due to his messy scrawl.
Unfortunately, he found through the course of this little adventure that he actually liked writing. That year was sort of the high point for his writing career because he won a writing contest for the state. He got to go to a big dinner and his teacher was all dressed up.
He kept writing little stories, year after year, and in sixth grade, won another contest. In seventh grade, he broke his arm and got the cast signed by both Dean Koontz and Stan Lee. It is, by far, the coolest cast he’s owned. That was about the time he found video games and anime. His writing turned mostly toward fanfiction until about ninth grade when he wrote his first novel, a small book about twenty thousand words called Revelations. In sophomore year, he wrote two more books to complete the trilogy because he saw Star Wars that year and learned trilogies were the cool thing to do.
He rewrote Revelations during his senior year, and his wife swears it is the best thing he’s written. J.A. is not so sure. Every time he reads it, he cringes, but then again, he hates everything he writes, so there is that.
It was about that time, he got heavily involved in a fanfiction writing group, but that isn’t one hundred percent accurate. It was a world based on a popular anime but everything was created especially for this world. It made it so that every story someone wrote was unique.
Imagine writing a Star Wars novel set 1,000 years after A New Hope, where everything that happened was a distant memory and you get the idea. You have the force, some distant memories of the past, and that’s pretty much it.
He wrote about a million words (863K to be exact) for them before he decided to do his own thing. He wrote another novel. He put it in a drawer. He wrote another one that eventually became the basis for The Hatter is Mad. His next novel was Kill It With Magic, his first real novel. It’s not bad, but it’s bumpy. This is unfortunate because the books get loads better as the series progresses.
Since then, he’s written six more novels, four of which are in the Lillim Callina Series, and one in the Abby Banks series. The other is stuck in a drawer for time undetermined. He’s writing his next book now which is about werewolves fighting mummies in Ancient Egypt. After that, he will move onto Abby Banks 2. The Spy Within will come out in June or July.
J.A. also has three chinchillas. Two of them are grey, and because of this, they are named Slate and Cadmium. The third is named Jet because he’s black, and Jet is old English for black. See, creative. He also has a cat named Turtle. This does pose problems for his two-year-old from time to time.

In school, starting in kindergarten, I excelled at reading and writing. As I got older, history and science became my strong points. My sophomore year in high school, my algebra grade was 110 out of 100 (not a typo). Unfortunately, I was pushed too hard to perform well. When it came time for college, I was completely burnt-out on school, joining the workforce instead.
I’ve worked in manufacturing, housekeeping, security, bars/clubs, and spent about four years total “finding myself.” Which translates to being a bum.
My childhood was mostly good. Lower middle class, never abused, Eagle Scout by age 15. There is always dark moments in everyone’s life, though: drugs, gang violence, money troubles, prison terms, hospital stays. I won’t go into details for privacy’s sake.

My father (EEW III) worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, drove trucks, and was even a racecar driver.
My grandfather (EEW II) also worked for the railroad, and built racecars.
My great grandfather (EEW SR.) was a Texas Ranger. I’ve grown up hearing stories of the men he arrested, and the famous Rangers he worked with. He knew the men who shot Bonnie and Clyde, and the famous Ranger who stopped an entire riot by himself.
I’ve personally traced my family lineage back to the Revolutionary War. Patrick Henry’s mother was a Winston. His best friend and cousin was Judge Edmund Winston. That’s where my name originated.
Judge Winston became the executor of Henry’s estate when he died, and married Henry’s wife as well. Henry’s wife was a cousin of Martha Washington, making me obscurely related to the First President.
I’m currently working a day job to pay bills while trying to get my writing off the ground. I have way too many hobbies. I’ve been in sports memorabilia for over 20 years. I collect books (focusing on signed copies), movies, video games, gold, silver, and gems. I’ve built guitars, set stones in jewelry, and I smoke cigars. I wrote my first book in high school and passed it around campus. It was received well. It was a collection of observational humor that, when I look at now, isn’t funny at all. I’ve dabbled in photography, which resulted in putting another embarrassing book out there.
I’ve built several websites, including this one. I’ve met countless celebrities and sports stars. My favorite authors include: Clive Cussler, Nelson Demille, Dan Brown, Joseph Finder, Catherine Coulter, Michael Crichton, Peter V. Brett, and all the classics.

Geoff started writing in 2003. He penned his first novel between Thanksgiving and Christmas that year. He had high hopes for it, of course, but errors plagued his first draft. He was driven to create an epic fantasy next, Juxta, Magi. Then he crafted a military sci-fi, R.A.E.C.E. Genesis.
He spent hundreds of afternoons during his formative years dueling over a hot box of dice playing tabletop wargames such as Titan and Axis&Allies. These games have strong military components and fantasy elements.
Geoff taught himself to program computers as a young pup. The first software Geoff developed professionally was a Chemical Weapons Attack Simulator for the USAF. He did it in Visual Basic 3.0 in Win3.11, on a 386SX16 processor. Since then he has built websites professionally and browser based multiplayer kingdom games.
When he first started writing, he had no clue how to find publishers or submit stories. He didn’t know how to fix all the errors in his manuscripts. It kind of hit him like lightning one day that Sinclair Community College in Dayton, OH might have an English class worth taking. He discovered a plethora of writing classes, including the most awesome class ever, Text Editing. Geoff learned under published authors: Ed Davis and Tim Waggoner, among others.
As of 2015, Geoff has written eight novels and a novella. Most of them were self published. They were largely never sent to publishers, and he’s hoping to change his methods. He penned over fifty short stories. Fifteen of his shorts have been published.

I wrote a play at age ten, and some friends and I put it on for my fifth grade class. It was then that I caught the writing bug, so to speak. My fifth grade teacher encouraged me to continue writing, and so I did. My younger years were filled with short stories, plays, and then finally poetry. When I got into high school, I took a creative writing class which helped me build on my skills. The teacher was very supportive, and helped me see where I needed improvements. I learned a lot from him, and am very grateful to have had his influence in my life. In 1995 I wrote my first book entitled Life Is Funny That Way. Despite people telling me to try to get it published I didn’t. In fact, not until after I published The World Inside Stephanie’s Head in 2014, did I do anything with it. Though I wrote Life Is Funny That way years earlier, it is the second book I published in 2014. In January of 2015 I published my third book Destiny’s Mark. In July 2015 I will be publishing The World Beyond Stephanie’s Head. This is the sequel to The World Inside Stephanie’s Head. Many things happen within the pages of my books, not unlike life itself. In my books dreams are found, love is discovered, adventure is had, and betrayals happen. My books span many genres, though best to say most are Romance, action, young adult, fiction. My current project has a bit more of a serious tone, and is geared for a more adult audience.
Besides writing, I help other authors to get the word out about their books through my Author’s Round Table chats, as well as a page dedicated to authors and books I have really enjoyed. This book has some very sensitive topics but sometimes these topics need to be addressed. The author wrote a wonderful crime thriller that kept you on your toes every minute. I couldn’t put the book down. It just kept those pages turning and turning.
Abbie Adler, the psychiatrist in the book and the main character was very realistic and you just had to like her. My problem with her was, why did she keep going on with these clients who totally didn’t want her help, they were playing games. They didn’t give her all the information she needed. I think she was just too good for her own good. Maybe she was trying to help someone who had gone through what she had. Hoping that it wouldn’t happen again. That to me is unrealistic. It has happened for years and will continue to happen. There are those people out there that are either sick, demented or just get off by these horrible acts. Some don’t want help. Some take the help but don’t improve. The characters seemed to click together. There was this bond between some of them.
The ending was nothing like I expected. I was truly surprised and amazed. Another good Brier Hospital Series book.
