- Bed of Bones -
Sometimes even the deepest, darkest secrets find their way to the surface…
Summer 1956
Thirteen-year-old Willie Compton and his younger brother Leonard stumble upon a mine shaft while hiking the hills of Park City, Utah. The shaft is unsealed, abandoned. While Leonard stares at the hole in wonderment, a Slinky he’s been flipping back and forth between his hands slithers through his fingers, tumbling toward the mouth of the shaft. Leonard bolts forward, reaches out to grab it, but he slips, then he falls.
Present Day
Up-and-coming filmmaker Melody Sinclair stirs in her chair, nervously awaiting the debut of her film at the Sundance Film Festival. Based on a true story, Bed of Bones tells a tale of murder, shining a big, bold light on Park City’s tragic past. A past that’s about to revisit the present.

Lionel Paxton is an author who has recently turned his hand to children’s books. He saw the need for informative picture books for children from the age of 5 to 10. Married to Mary Ellen, they are the busy parents to four boys, Simon, Will, and the twins Jack and Thomas.Books are typically the first exposure to learning and art that children get which urges one to make the very best books possible. He understands how important books were to his childhood. With them, he feels as if transported to some parallel universe, a world of grace and wonder.
Lionel said, “The boys want more than just picture books they also want to learn things they can tell their friends about. Jack in particular loves learning new things. He was sick of story books and wanted something a bit more challenging”.
As the author of a few heavy historical novels he started writing children’s books for the boys not long after Will was born. Being boys they wanted adventure and scary dragons. But after Jack and Thomas arrived Jack wanted to read ‘real’ books about ‘real’ things, not pretend stuff. Not being able to find suitable books written to the capacity of a 4 or 5 year old, he started making little flip books on his computer and using pictures from magazines and photographs in his collection.
He sent one of these books to his publisher who thought this a great idea and has since commissioned a series of books for this age group. With the help of the boys he is currently working on several picture books about our land and sea animals.
Lionel lives with his family, Billy the bitser, cats Ghost and Patch and assorted lizards and insects in Ho-Ho-Kus, a suburb of New York (Northern New Jersey-Long Island).

- Year of the Chick -
An awkward family homecoming at Christmas.
A humiliating public weigh-in, with two judging parents as the audience.
The announcement of a deadline for arranged marriage doom.
And that’s just the first two chapters.
In “Year of the Chick,” Romi Narindra must find love before her parents find her a husband.
But this is North America, not Calcutta! Who lets their parents choose their husbands?!
Easy to say, less easy to live through, as this book takes you deep inside “awkward Indian living in the West.”
To escape her fate, Romi wades through the waters of secret-dating, where self-consciousness is at an all-time high, and experience at an all-time low. It’s the sort of thing that would turn almost anyone into a man-crazy freak with romance tunnel-vision, and that’s exactly what happens to her. All the while, a lack of inspiration in her corporate job leads Romi to her love of writing, in what quickly becomes a man-quest play-by-play.
From whiskey-breath scum bags to uni-brow creeps and everything in between, Romi and her wingmen come up empty time after time.
And that’s when she meets a fellow writer.
On the Internet.
So will it be arranged marriage doom, or an Internet affair that’s not as creepy as “To Catch a Predator”?
Time will tell in the “year of the chick,” a twelve-month quest to find love.
Tick-tock.

Romi Moondi is a Canadian author who converted her 2008 blog “Year of the Chick” into novel form, and published it in 2011. Since then she’s added two more books to the “Year of the Chick” series, the most recent of which is “Never or Forever.” The latest book takes place in Paris, which is where Romi lived for six months this past year, after trading in her corporate job for an inspiration-seeking mission. The books can be described as edgy romantic comedies, where happy endings are not a guarantee, but where real and embarrassing moments are in good supply.
Romi also writes screenplays in her spare time, and her screenplay “Best Before” made it to the semi-finals or better in eight international screenplay competitions in 2011.
She’d like to see her books adapted into films one day, with the crown jewel of Canada a.k.a. Ryan Gosling as one of the male leads. Naturally.

Very few people are fortunate enough to be mentored in fine wine. I was lucky and the instruction I received over many French lunches and dinners opened my eyes to the
complexities of fine wine and how the choice of the right wine for a particular dish elevates the experience from mere grazing to hedonistic delights.
I wanted to learn more about wine and decided to go and make the vendange in which is
arguably one of the finest areas of wine in the world – the Haut Médoc – north of Bordeaux. What started as a ‘one off’ visit turned into an annual pilgrimage covering seven years during which I found out everything I wanted to about the subject.
Vendange isn’t a dry book about the wine making process – more a collection of anecdotes gathered in my pannier along the way. It started in the autumn of 1979 and
finished in 1986 and during that time, the wine industry changed forever. I was lucky enough to witness the changes.

One is from extreme poverty, the other from incredible wealth. One is of European decent and traces his American roots back a few generations. The other is a minority and his parents are first generation Americans. One is a womanizer and an atheist, the other a devout Christian with old fashioned values about marriage and family. One overcomes tragedy, and his circumstances to rise to the top. The other is seemingly gifted beyond what is fair, yet struggles with internal demons. These two become friends and business partners not because of what is different between them, but because of what they share. Their passion for baseball, business, and competition forge the foundation of a relationship that will not only change the world, but will change one of them in ways he never believes is possible.
This is an American story of self-made and re-made men and women. A story of heartbreak, forgiveness, and redemption, but most of all it’s an American story.
It is a story that can only happen in an America that most Americans still long for. An America where good triumphs over evil, faith and hard work are rewarded and expected. It is a story about the American dream and how fulfilling those dreams make America exceptional.

- Becoming Anorak Nid (Book One) by Alix B Macey -
About Becoming Anorak Nid (Book One) by Alix B Macey:Hurrah!
This is the first in the Becoming Anorak Nid series by Alix B Macey. Perfect for 8+ children + reluctant readers.
Psst.. she’s not fussy, she’ll even take (reluctant) 38 year olds!
But hey, stop…you don’t want to read about the fact that it’s a fictional children’s story that will propel you full pelt into the sporadically funny, celestial life adventures of a persecuted, orphaned spider called Nid – with a fantastical fantasy twist and funny (not entirely ha ha) scrolls? You just want the facts – right?
I bet you don’t even care that ever since Great Aunt Wince got flushed down the plug-hole in the upstairs lavvy and was never seen again, Nid avoids water at all costs – in whatever form it takes; puddles, ice-bergs, baths, even spit – do you?
In the face of all this, for goodness sake don’t spill the beans, but Nid has a job to do – will he be able to pull it off though?
Somewhere a cat barked, a dog meowed, and Trevor the Webber persecuted.
Purposefully, with a touch of mysterious silence, lurking in the corner of Mr. Busy’s bumble sale – underneath holey socks, smelly jumpers and odd knickers, is the magical answer to all of Nid’s bonkers thinking – that could change his life forever…
Joined by his astonishing mute ant friend, Sile Ant – who for obvious reasons has no speaking part (quite odd in a book really?), Nid heads off on one of the most challenging adventures he will ever have to undertake –ever, in the whole world of England.
But just exactly where did he leave his oomph?
Why is that rascal Trevor the Webber having his ear sown back on?
What are these mysterious scrolls with funny bits of ribbon around them?
What about Cricket and his mysterious missing self?!
Why is Anorak Nid called Anorak Nid?
Why am I asking so many questions?
And hey! Why is there a light, the size of a freckle, groaning underneath the kitchen window?
You won’t find the answers here… you sausage! You have to take a look inside….

About You — According to Them: Uncovering the blind spots that impact your reputation and career:
Learn the secrets of accelerating your journey toward success by better understanding yourself and how others perceive you. You — According to Them will offer practical steps to help you leverage the perceptions of a great reputation into bottom-line success. If you’ve ever worked in an organization of any size, you’ve probably seen it: the talented geniuses with all the right credentials who don’t really seem to be going anywhere in their chosen careers. Sometimes that “talented genius” is us, and we are hard-pressed to understand what’s blocking our ability to advance. In this book, Sara Canaday draws on her years of corporate experience and research to not only explain WHY smart people can end up with stalled careers, but also HOW they can fix the problems (or avoid them in the future). The timing for this insight couldn’t be better, given today’s increasingly competitive work environment. You — According to Them deals directly with the blind spots and perception disconnects we all face as we navigate our own sometimes-winding career paths. Sara identifies nine different “syndromes” using very distinct characters and case studies from her 20 years of work on the subject: Don’t Fence Me In Intellectual Snob Frozen Compass Dust in My Wind No Crying in Baseball Safety Patrol Faulty Volume Control Passion Pistol Perpetual Doer In each chapter, Sara describes one of these blind spots in detail, along with a list of “quick fixes” for fast response. She also closes the chapter with a long-term action plan and specific exercises to guide readers through the process for conquering that particular syndrome. “Once we understand the power of our personal reputations,” Sara says, “we can begin to see how others’ perceptions of us can impact our ability to compete in the marketplace — for jobs, for raises and for promotions.”

- Perfect Need – Seven Tales of Love and Passion by Barbara L.B. Storey -
About Perfect Need – Seven Tales of Love and Passion by Barbara L.B. Storey:Close your eyes.
Fall in love.
Stay there.
~ Rumi
Rumi knew about love. It’s a mystery, a thrill, an adventure – every time.
You never know who you’ll fall in love with, or why, or whether it’s a good idea – ask Rowan in “A Star, A Stone”. How could you ever anticipate the pure wonder, the inspiration being in love can bring – “An Unbearable Brightness” explores that light. A sudden rainstorm – “Stormy Weather” – or even an exercise class – “The Queen of Heaven” – can be the spark that creates abandon and exhilarating passion between two lovers. In “Dolce”, a full-course Italian meal prepared with love whets . . . other appetites.
The short stories in Perfect Need are explorations of what love and passion can become, how they can affect two people for a moment, or for a lifetime. When they close their eyes, literally or not; when they tumble into a love they never expected; when they decide it’s worth the risk to stay . . . or not.
Please Note: This erotica collection contains adult situations and language and is intended for a mature audience.

I was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. Reading was my escape from the legendary Buffalo winters and probably contributed to my becoming a writer. My first novel, Realities, was published in hardcover and paperback in the United States, England. It was a selection of the Swedish Book-of-the-Month Club. The physical setting of the Giffort Street stories –the houses and the elm trees— is very much like the street on which I grew up. But the people who live the Giffort Street houses are characters of my imagination.
