- Far Forward -
Awakening on a lazy Saturday morning, Anna Katz is greeted by an older version of herself making a pot of coffee. During the ensuing conversation her doppelganger explains . . .
“The first rule of time travel is that you can never go backwards.”
While a person is never really ready to have a conversation with their future self, and I can assure you Anna is not, this leads to the obvious question . . .
“If you can’t go back, how does that explain you standing in my kitchen?”
The answer to that, and to her many other questions, will have to wait. Anna, unknowingly, is about to embark on a journey that will shine a light on many of the key turning points in not only her past, but possibly all things past.
She will not be making this journey alone. Assistance will come in the form of her very own daughter, Etta, who turns up soon after her future self makes her first appearance. Unfortunately, Etta only manages to add to the confusion. Anna Katz has never had a child.
While standing face to face with herself appears at first to be akin to standing in front of a long mirror; she’s about to learn more about herself than she bargained for. Is it possible that inside her own psyche are hidden many different people just waiting to get out? In the end, when she gazes into the looking glass, will it be her own reflection staring back; or something less recognizable? Possibly even terrifying.
“In this novel are offered alternative theories of time travel, causality, random facts about the global positioning system, postulations of a repeating universal timeline, inferences that bathroom habits may have an adverse effect on the attainable speed of light, and the possibility that the demise of the Theropods might not have been without blame. Although, to find the last one you will have to read between the lines with a microscope.
Also included, but much more subjectively, are judgmental opinions on infidelity, workplace etiquette, smoking, taking things that don’t belong to you, parenting do’s and don’ts , and last but not remotely least, the possibility of true love.
Any similarities to real persons or events is unintentional, however given this novels propensity for timeline revision, it’s not completely out of the question. Enjoy!”

C.F. Waller was born and raised in Southeastern Michigan in a small town full of interesting people. In the last two decades this tiny hamlet has outgrown it’s small town charm, but to him it will always be the sort of town you could ride your bicycle down the middle of main street on a Friday night.Like Many writers he has done a number of things to keep a roof over his head. He worked in Software Documentation and as a Book Designer. Less in step with his current situation, he also worked as a Night Club disc Jockey, a Car Salesman and more recently as a Hurricane Shutter Engineer.
He left the snow behind and moved to Southern Florida in 2001 and lives there with his wife Tina and their cat Charley. While he would never give up his waterfront view or the sun beating down on his patio (all year round). He retains fond memories of a childhood spent holding a snow shovel.
He was blessed with a father who was a school teacher and had his summers free. His family traveled the entirety of the Continental United States on it’s many back roads, toll roads and interstates. As an adult (many will argue this word does not apply to him) he has been lucky enough to travel far and wide, Including extensive stays in Egypt and the Caribbean.
His favorite authors include Oscar Wilde, Dan Brown and Michael Crichton. The first novel he read was “The Terminal Man” by Crichton and he is still the author that is most influential in his writing. Crichton’s use of cutting edge technology with a twist have brought him to most of his story ideas. His favorite novel is “The Picture of Dorian Grey” by Wilde, which inspired a bigger than life oil painting that hangs on his bedroom wall (seen in the picture on this page).

To combat writer’s block and other common ails that seem to plague artists, Jennifer turns to long walks and of course, chocolate. The best walks are those where she gets on a train and randomly selects a stop. Many surprising shops and late-night diners (and characters, for that matter) have been discovered this way.

- The Iron Beast -
No other invention in the history of mankind has had such a profound impact
on our lives. Not the computer, nor the internet changed lives as much as the railways.
In the 1840s, the new iron roads started global pollution, multinational
corporations and gave birth to the unholy alliance between government
and big business.
Many members of the middle class tried to become rich by
investing in railway stocks. Those at the bottom of society, the navvies,
bult the railways under fearfully dangerous conditions, and lived
short, miserable lives. But a handful of this blood soaked underclass
became some of the richest men in the empire. They were the friends
of kings and queens and had power enough to make and unmake
governments and crush the rights of others.
The Iron Beast is the story of a giant of a man who will stop
at nothing to build the iron roads of Britain and raise himself high
above the secrets and squalor of his early life. The Iron Beast points
out how many of today’s worst ecological practices began. It also
outlines the beginnings of the financial markets and how their
inherent weaknesses were built into our current system.

- Flames of Quiet Light: Thirteen Tiny Tales of Love and Loss by Angel Zapata -
About Flames of Quiet Light: Thirteen Tiny Tales of Love and Loss by Angel Zapata:Flames of Quiet Light: Thirteen Tiny Tales of Love and Loss.
Includes fiction previously published online or in printed journals as well as two brand new tales: “The Divinity of Grass” and “Fifth Grade.”
There used to be a fence here, around this domicile husk. The children, two by two, were ushered through the gates. Small, bare feet hovered above the earth like ghosts, touching air and nothing else. It was the large hands of strangers that swung them over the steps, set them down on the cool tile floor of the orphanage lobby.
The boy remembers that when it stormed the window shades would sway like paper arks, and all the caged animals on the curtains— two rabbits, two canaries, two cats, two dogs— would dissolve to whimpers and scratches, broken only by the sound of thunder or the creak of bedsprings in the dark room.
The girl has no memory of fur or feathers. She would listen to the rain fall and pretend the lightning bolts were a carnival of cotton candy. Her numb fingers became paper cones for electric blue curls…

Nigel Bird and his stories have appeared in so many places that it’s about time the best of them were brought together in one collection.
His work has also received so much praise that this collection should be a must for the fan of the short story, particularly those fans with a taste for noir, crime or unusual fiction.
Praise for his work and, indeed, for some of the stories collected here includes:
‘A tremendous writer.’ Donald Ray Pollock (The Devil All The Time)
‘A rare talent.’ Allan Guthrie (Bye Bye Baby)
‘I was surprised by every story. These are short, punchy, thoughtful, hard as a punch, but sometimes they dig in and squeeze. It’s dirty stuff, done beautifully.” Anthony Neil Smith (Yellow Medicine, Psychosomatic, Hogdoggin’)
‘It won’t take long to realise he is also one of the best writers out there on the noir scene’ Ian Ayris (Abide With Me)
‘So nice to read a story with this much heart in it.’ Patti Abbott (Discount Noir, Monkey Justice)
‘Great Stuff.’ Charlie Stella (Charlie Opera, Johnny Porno)
‘Brilliantly razor-sharp, jagged slice of life.’ Paul D Brazill (Guns Of Brixton, Roman Dalton)
‘I sought out everything I could from him. I dare you to read and not do the same.’ Chris F Holm (8 Pounds)
‘Took my breath away…Powerful.’ Kathleen A Ryan (Playing With Matches, Women Of Mystery)
‘Nigel Bird continues to amaze,’ Naomi Johnson (The Drowning Machine)
‘Nigel Bird screamed onto the crime scene with his story “Beat on the Brat,” winner of last year’s Watery Grave International competition. And with good reason. It’s a sharply written tale about the cost of loyalty.’ Chris Rhatigan (Watch You Drown)
‘Grim, but really good.’ Ian Rankin (Inspector Rebus)
The work here has found homes in some of the finest places around and has passed through the gates of many great editors. It’s a stunning collection that deserves to be savoured over and over again.

- Manifestations: Life after Death -
About Manifestations: Life after Death:For Like-Minds who wonder, why they’re here and where they go after they die…
Manifestations, Life after Death takes you on a journey into this afterlife. It explores a new plight of existence, an existence that presents complex challenges; challenges that cannot be mirrored on Earth.
The Narrator
It begins with its narrator who is clearly a higher power: God, Allah, JA, Yahweh, Jehovah, The Great Spirit, Amen, etc.
The narrator does not dwell on that; for clearly, as you will read, it is beneath it to mention; for the logic of the narrator cuts through the concept of true religion and traditional worship.
Once the deity establishes itself, you will find yourself giving it leeway to discover what new scientific or spiritual information it has to offer.
The narrator does not let down.

Serene gave up her condo on July 31, 2012 and has been traveling the U.S. trading, spending time with many souls, and actively practicing what her soul sought to learn during this time period.Recently, she has landed in Northern California, where she will continue editing her next book, “Mastery of Thought: Uplift Your Thoughts, Transform Your Life,” which builds upon her first book, “Mastery of Intuition: A Guide to Lucid Living.” Her books are laden in practical tools and practices that serve in awakening the heart and mind ever more deeply through active and consistent practice. To teach yourself any truth – to realize it for yourself, you must actively practice that truth every day – these are age-old tools. However, what is shared, and how it is shared in these books is how Serene has directly received and experienced these truths.
Serene has asked God questions all along the way, and she expresses the tools/teachings that are shared in her books, as her “Answers from God.” If you do not like the word God, feel free to substitute Love, Truth, All That Is, Great Spirit, Jesus, Krishna, Buddha, Universal Intelligence, whatever floats your boat – labels are of no consequence, when it comes to what IS. We are all sparks of the infinite; let us learn to live in this light.
We all have something unique to offer our brothers and sisters when it comes to the teachings that abound in life. The teachings of every Saint, Master, and truth seeker of all time, are One. Perspectives are many and expression may vary, however, truth is One – many are the Great Souls who have realized and shared this truth with others.
Serene hopes that these tools may serve you as they have served her mind, body and soul in the process of teaching these timeless truths about Who We Are, to herself. - Rebel With a Gun -
He was fifteen when the Civil War started, nineteen when it ended. His parents were dead by then, their farm sold for the taxes. The girl he loved had married a boy he hated. Nothing seemed right.
So he headed for Texas with a disreputable old snake oil peddler and a beautiful blonde with a jealous husband and a dangerous secret that could get them all killed.
Even though he had ridden with Quantrill and Bloody Bill, he was not like the others. Many of them were not the only bushwhackers who flourished during the war. Men just like them had waved the Union flag and used it to cloak their crimes, and now that the fighting was over not all of them would be content to lay down their arms and return to their former pursuits. Some, like their southern counterparts, would become outlaws. Many on both sides had never been anything else, and for them the war had just been a continuation of a life of lawlessness and violence. Now they would use the unsettled conditions in the wake of the war to camouflage their activities.
Of course, many would go west, especially to Texas. For years men had been going to Texas who were wanted or not wanted in other states. There was a well-known saying— “Gone to Texas.” It usually applied to men who had gone there a jump ahead of the law.
Warning: Reading a Van Holt western may make you want to get on a horse and hunt some bad guys down in the Old West. Of course, the easiest and most enjoyable way to do it is vicariously—by reading another Van Holt western.
Van Holt writes westerns the way they were meant to be written.

What some reviewers have to say about Van Holt’s writing:“I had a feeling that Van Holt…might actually be the successor to Zane Gray, a master Western storysmith, whose novels set the style of a generation.” –Stern0
“Van Holt is King of the Spaghetti Western…” –Rarebird1
Van Holt wrote his first western when he was in high school and sent it to a literary agent, who soon returned it, saying it was too long but he would try to sell it if Holt would cut out 16,000 words. Young Holt couldn’t bear to cut out any of his perfect western, so he threw it away and started writing another one.
A draft notice interrupted his plans to become the next Zane Grey or Louis L’Amour. A tour of duty as an MP stationed in South Korea was pretty much the usual MP stuff except for the time he nabbed a North Korean spy and had to talk the dimwitted desk sergeant out of letting the guy go. A briefcase stuffed with drawings of U.S. aircraft and the like only caused the overstuffed lifer behind the counter to rub his fat face, blink his bewildered eyes, and start eating a big candy bar to console himself. Imagine Van Holt’s surprise a few days later when he heard that same dumb sergeant telling a group of new admirers how he himself had caught the famous spy one day when he was on his way to the mess hall.
Holt says there hasn’t been too much excitement since he got out of the army, unless you count the time he was attacked by two mean young punks and shot one of them in the big toe. Holt believes what we need is punk control, not gun control.
After traveling all over the West and Southwest in an aging Pontiac, Van Holt got tired of traveling the day he rolled into Tucson and he has been there ever since, still dreaming of becoming the next Zane Grey or Louis L’Amour when he grows up. Or maybe the next great mystery writer. He likes to write mysteries when he’s not too busy writing westerns or eating Twinkies.

J.P. Borders started reading SciFi & Fantasy when he was 8, but never really believed he could write fiction. After taking a seemingly inordinately long time to get a PhD in physics (while working on one of the two experiments credited with the observation of the top quark), he discovered a passion for computers that pulled him into the world of programming. He has now been developing enterprise applications in the financial world for 20 years, using C++, C#, and Java.It was almost by accident that he started writing stories of his own, and has begun an ambitious cycle of books, The Gods in Hiding. - Dalek I Loved You: Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special Edition -
About Dalek I Loved You: Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special Edition:A Special Edition ebook to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who, featuring a host of new images, interviews and updated text…
Nick Griffiths watched his first Doctor Who aged four and a bit. He would have hidden behind the sofa but it was back against the wall and his parents didn’t let him move furniture so he hid behind a cushion instead. He’s since been told by his mum and dad that they didn’t have a sofa only armchairs. So this book should really be called Behind the Armchair, but that didn’t sound right. And so began a life long obsession. When Doctor Who started getting rubbish (after Tom Baker basically) he nearly escaped into the world of music and girls until he discovered someone selling tapes of old episodes in the small ads and that was that again. Only in the last few years has an anti-social obsession become something he can earn a living from as a journalist and happily this coincided with Doctor Who getting good again. Plus he has a son now so he can claim he’s watching it for him. Oh and his son’s called Dylan not Gallifrey or Davros.
“A very funny book for anyone who grew up wearing Tom Baker underpants. I know I did.” DAVID TENNANT

- Shaking Up Public Education: One Teacher’s Quest To Make A Difference In Our Schools -
About Shaking Up Public Education: One Teacher’s Quest To Make A Difference In Our Schools:
This book is about fixing the core problems in our public education system. The ugly truth is that our public schools are failing the youth of this country. But how can this be? How can a country so rich and powerful have a public school system that ranks below countries like Estonia and Hungary? Ronald Reagan once called America the “shining light on the hill,” but that light is fading fast.
Our country has debated educational reform for decades. How are these problems getting worse? The answers are found in the erosion of the core fundamental principles that are needed to create successful schools. The foundations of our public schools are cracked and ready to fall. We cannot move forward and implement new ideas until we secure our foundations. Once we are on firm ground we can begin to rebuild.
This book will explain the complexity of the problems we face, but more importantly, it will focus on the practical solutions. Many of the solutions will infuriate the political pundits, but will resonate with parents and teachers everywhere. Individual teachers and parents feel helpless as politicians and administrators wave their magic wands and pass harmful policies and legislation. These are OUR children that comprise the public school population. The political and social elite continue to neglect our public schools while sending THEIR children to private institutions.
