I was born and raised in Southern Maine and Graduated from Thornton Academy in Saco Maine. After High School I attended the Maine Criminal Justice Academy and was hired as a police officer with the Kennebunkport Police Department. During my career with The Kennebunkport Police I was a Detective, Supervisor, field training officer, computer crimes investigator, senior patrol officer, evidence technician and more. I was also part of the intelligence division and was paired with the United States Secret service during all Presidential Details. I retired in 2008 and currently act as CEO of an auction company.

I enjoy reading almost anything, but I have a particular interest in crime/true crime and thrillers. I enjoy writing thrillers and have just begun my series about Detective Brian Cohen. In my spare time I coach boys hockey and girls softball and enjoy hunting , fishing and outdoor activities. I am married to Erin and have three beautiful daughters.

I work as a creative/art director for one of the biggest game development companies in the world. I love my job, it has allowed me to travel the world, speak in front of thousands of people, and develop as a person. It has also taught me a lot about writing, as all games have to have plots, characters, and trailers. But there is one thing that I have always dreamed of doing in addition to that:

Writing a real book.

Personally, I am not a big fan of cliche, predictable plots, dragons, wizards, or superheroes who can survive a nuclear blast, or outsmart entire governments. I know it sells well, and that’s what people enjoy reading, but there are a lot of other people doing that, and doing it so well, that I don’t think there is any room left on that market for someone like me. And anyway, I am rather a fan of classical literature, of writers like Maupassant and Tolstoy.

So I decided to leave my comfort zone, and write not about aliens, monsters, mutants and Special Forces, but about something more relevant to our everyday lives. About something that might actually make people think, not simply entertain them. Because I believe that literature is way too powerful to be used for… well, for whatever it is used for these days.

And since I have always been very interested in conspiracies, mass manipulation, and economy, I decided to base the plot of God’s Memory on the events of 9/11. I always wanted to know WHY. Why would the world’s leaders commit sucha terrible crime? There is no way that they are simply evil, bloodthirsty people. The world is not black and white. I wanted to imagine what it would be like to be in their shoes. How do they perceive us regular folks? What would they tell us if they had no choice but to answer our question? How would they justify their actions?

Curiosity may have killed that feline fur ball, but she or him learned a lot before exiting number nine. I too have been curious, wondering why we, I or they acted this way, looked or did it that way or were otherwise human.

But curiosity is such a casual word, and the truth is my desire to know was almost desperate. There were times in life that I felt angry when there was no one around, unhappy when life was just fine, times I had trouble with relationships for seemingly no reason, times I felt sad when…well, you get the idea.

That desperate curiosity, along with forty years of inner work, has lead to some interesting answers and some surprising books.

Also, I love talking with those courageous people who are going for a positive change, and I live to see that eye-widening moment of understanding.

Besides curious, I am also a writer who began with a column in the San Jose Mercury News, nationally syndicated. My current project is this book series, “Things That Make Life Better.”

Hello everyone:),

I was born in Moscow in 1975. Although I speak English, Hebrew, German and a little Ukrainian, Russian is still my native language, so please cut this bio some slack. Unlike my book, it wasn’t proofread by a professional translator:).

It took me about three years to write God’s Memory, because I actually have a full-time job, which is extremely time-consuming. I work as a creative/art director for one of the biggest game development companies in the world. I love my job, it has allowed me to travel the world, speak in front of thousands of people, and develop as a person. It has also taught me a lot about writing, as all games have to have plots, characters, and trailers. But there is one thing that I have always dreamed of doing in addition to that:

Writing a real book.

Personally, I am not a big fan of cliche, predictable plots, dragons, wizards, or superheroes who can survive a nuclear blast, or outsmart entire governments. I know it sells well, and that’s what people enjoy reading, but there are a lot of other people doing that, and doing it so well, that I don’t think there is any room left on that market for someone like me. And anyway, I am rather a fan of classical literature, of writers like Maupassant and Tolstoy.

So I decided to leave my comfort zone, and write not about aliens, monsters, mutants and Special Forces, but about something more relevant to our everyday lives. About something that might actually make people think, not simply entertain them. Because I believe that literature is way too powerful to be used for… well, for whatever it is used for these days.

And since I have always been very interested in conspiracies, mass manipulation, and economy, I decided to base the plot of God’s Memory on the events of 9/11. I always wanted to know WHY. Why would the world’s leaders commit sucha terrible crime? There is no way that they are simply evil, bloodthirsty people. The world is not black and white. I wanted to imagine what it would be like to be in their shoes. How do they perceive us regular folks? What would they tell us if they had no choice but to answer our question? How would they justify their actions?

Unfortunately, the details of this gem have been lost to time. Her next story featured a large black dog who was really a demon in disguise. Apparently, Tori was born in paranormal mode.

Three years later, it dawned on her that she didn’t have to wait for the teacher’s permission to write fiction. She spent the entirety of her peculiar adolescence writing weird and romantic stories which embarrassed her parents and got her in trouble at school.
