- Heirs of War by Mara Valderran -
Mara Valderran has been coming up with stories since she could talk, often commandeering her brother's G.I. Joes to play out her fictional tales alongside her Barbies. Once she hit adolescence and realized playing with dolls wasn't cool anymore, she started putting her ideas to paper. And she hasn’t stopped since. Mara has worn many different artistic hats throughout her life. She has dabbled in screenwriting, plucked guitars and basses, toyed with singing, retired from acting, and drawn some pretty mean stick figures in her time. However, writing books seems to fit her best as she finds nothing more fulfilling than creating worlds and characters she can lose herself in. Mara is more than just a madwoman with a writing box. She lives in the south with her husband and demanding cat. She hopes to one day meet Daniel Jackson from SG1, or at least the actor who played him. When she’s not writing, you can find her reading, playing video games, or spending time at her favorite local coffee shop.

- Escaping The Sexless Marriage: A Practical Manual to Bring Back Intimacy and Trust into a Passive Aggressive Marriage by Nora Femenia -
All my life I have been fascinated by people's behaviors, partly become I am a curious being, but also because I wanted to master skills that would help me navigate my social environment. I often wrestle with questions such as : Why do people do what they do? what motivates them? and the most important: how is it that they don't realize the impact they cause on others? As a child, it is natural to be pushy in having our survival needs met and lack empathy as to how one's behavior impacts others or to see that others may have different worldviews. Yet, as I developed into an increasingly introspective woman, I realized that lack of empathy can go beyond the first stages of human life. Observing my mother's disciplinary tactics was an important source of questions. I wanted to know why she did not understand that her harsh approaches were making me less likely to abide by her rules. She was unconsciously fueling my rebellion, while hoping to instill docility. And so I embarked on an intellectual journey aimed at answering these questions... My extensive study of psychology, systems theory and conflict theory have all shaped my radical understanding of today: We are all interconnected, but struggle with recognizing this bond, because relationships come with pain tied to vulnerability and emotional transparency, the quintessence of close relationships. Yet, the inalienable truth remains that human connection is the hallmark of humanity. The rise of individualism in western cultures belies this fact to our detriment, preaching that independence is the model to emulate. But our need for connection is has been demonstrated in the scientific community and manifests perpetually in society. This idea is what I try to convey to my Kindle readers, who cultivate their understanding of relationships while fueling mine through their appreciation of my craft. In particular, I explore the question of : how can one deal with a dysfunctional relationship, if being connected is a source of nurturance and joy? Some people comment that mine is the most compassionate approach they found in relationship books or coaching.

- Would You, Could You by Felicia Mires -
Felicia Mires began her writing career years ago when she became bored with what she found available in the Christian Fiction market. Hoping to entertain herself and provide inspiration to other Christians, she wrote her first novel, Diamonds are for Eden. Since that time, she has written more than 20 Christian novels (all with a bit of romance), even becoming a finalist in the ACFW competition. Along the way, she has judged multiple writing contests, edited scores of books for other writers, and discovered a wealth of fascinating Christian fiction. But, God did not create man, or woman, for books alone. Thankfully, there is relationship. Felicia has been married for over 25 years to Gene Mires, from whom she gains a plethora of hilarious and creative ideas. Felicia and Gene have three incredible children. They also enjoy pastoring Young Adults at Life Church. Ahh, the drama...and unending plot ideas. Life is full of relationship. If you need a bit of inspiration or encouragement, try Christian Fiction by Felicia Mires.

- Carb Cycling: The Secret Nutrition Plan To Stop The Diet Roller Coaster So You Can Lose Weight For Life (Carb Cycling Secrets) -
I'm Chris Oakley. I live in Austin, TX and have just begun my career as an author. I am big on fitness and desire to help others become healthy and fit. I am also a HUGE animal lover and I love to ride horses and spend time outdoors. I never thought of being an author until I was helping a friend of mine when he got a gym membership. He had asked me to work with him to lose some weight and I agreed. I have never been overweight, but have a passion for seeing and helping others lose weight, be fit and make the most of their lives. One day he said, "You should write a book to help people lose weight." After about a month of "Why should I write a book? Nobody will buy it!" he convinced me to do it. My first book, "Carb Cycling: The Secret Nutrition Plan To Stop The Diet Roller Coaster So You Can Lose Weight For Life" is now on Amazon. I am certain it won't be my last book.

- Macadamian Pliers -
Prologue : My parents met. (Prologues are never much use.) Chapter One: I am born. The world blinks. Chapter Two: I toddle. I am introduced to the works of Richard Scarry. The illustrations burn themselves into my tiny mind. This is followed by an intense interest in Winnie the Pooh and the Radio Times. Chapter Three: Beanos and Dandys and tape recorders enter my life. I read the comic strips aloud, record these performances. Leads to writing my own stories, which are mostly about spaceships or murderous snakes. Chapter Four: Santa brings a Commodore 64. Writing is forgotten. Chapter Five: Teenage nerdism strikes. Dragonlance Chronicles are read. An attempt is made to copy them. Results are dreadful. Chapter Six: Off to university to study ancient history and archaeology. Hat and whip not received. Compaints about this are ignored. University mostly a waste of time, apart from hours spent writing apocalyptic horror-comedy on 386 PC. It's great. Chapter Seven: Apocalyptic horror-comedy sent out to literary agents. None are interested. Novel not great. Mostly a waste of time. Chapter Eight: A long period filled with much writing and many submissions and plenty of rejection letters. Decide I can't stand prologues as they're never much use. Chapter Nine: Short stories accepted by Polluto, Voluted Tales and Kzine. Prompts a vigorous interest in Kindle Direct Publishing. First release is Macadamian Pliers, YA horror with an emphasis on creepy, spooky and other ooky things. TO BE CONTINUED...

- Travels on a Greyhound Bus by Beckie Henderson -
I used to work full time in the university sector. Now I work flat out in three roles--freelance writer, mother to two wonderful children, and part-time university project manager. But I love the flexibility and, more importantly, the writing. Over the years I've had all kinds of non-fiction published (a book, academic papers and magazine articles), as well as ghost writing two other books. Now I'm concentrating on fiction. I've published two novels to date: "A Matter of Degree" and "Travels on a Greyhound Bus". I'm now working on my third (and fourth!) novels. Academically speaking, I hold a PhD and an MA Honours in Philosophy from the University of Edinburgh, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the College of Law, York. When I'm not writing/working/looking after children, I really enjoy doing yoga (I've been practising for well over 20 years now, so am very bendy!) and swimming lengths at my local pool. To find out more about me, please visit my website: www.beckiehenderson.me.uk, read my blog: www.workingmum.me.uk, or follow me on Twitter: @BeckieHenderson.

- Forever Fae by L.P. Dover -
L.P. Dover lives in the beautiful state of North Carolina with her husband and two wonderful daughters. She’s an avid reader that loves her collection of books. Writing has always been her passion and she’s delighted to share it with the world. L.P. Dover spent several years in college starting out with a major in Psychology and then switching to dental. She worked in the dental field for eight years and then decided to stay home with her two beautiful girls. Her works consist of the Forever Fae series, her Second Chances series, and her standalone novel, Love, Lies, and Deception. She’s really excited to be able to experience writing in the different genres. Her reading used to consist of nothing but suspense thrillers, but now she can't get away from the paranormal/fantasy books. Now that she has started on her passion and began writing, you will not see her go anywhere without a notebook, pen, and her secret energy builder … chocolate.

- Amari -
My life had its ups and downs, like most people. Along the way, I met my beautiful wife who saved me. I was in the darkest part of my life at the time, practically lived in seclusion even though I had a roommate. I smoked, drank very heavily, believed everyone owed me something, and I had a dead end job. My life was spiraling into the abyss, until I met her. To make a long story short, she reached into a bucket of sludge, picked me up, hosed me off, and married me. She never asked me to change, but her example and my love for her made it my priority. Why do you write? I just really enjoy writing. I love the idea of telling stories and I want them to have some meaning. I think a good story should make you think or encourage you to reflect, but this should never take away from a great story. What do you write? The premise is that no matter long ago in the past or how far into the future, the human problems will always remain the same. Books and short stories should push the envelope bringing them in, placing them side by side with hero while fighting the villain.

- Angel -
Hi, I’m Alex, an author and student trying to juggle my degree with my love for writing. I’m currently studying Spanish and Russian at the University of Cambridge, which I absolutely love, despite not being particularly good at either. If I’m not in Cambridge, I can normally be found in my home town of Solihull, UK, with my family. I love reading, and I’m a huge pop fan. Pop culture is something that never, ever bores me; I love all of it, from trash TV to celeb news to Eurovision. I’ve wanted to be a writer ever since I can remember, and decided last year that there was no point just wanting to be one any more – I had to make it happen. So I penned my debut novel, Angel, and it’s now available to buy on Amazon! I also have a couple of short stories I released prior to Angel which are also available to buy. I’m always keen to hear from people who are in the same boat as me, or people who can name all the Spice Girls B-sides in order of release date. Stay tuned for the latest news on upcoming releases!
