   I was born in the middle of skin-walker territory, practically on the Arizona Navajo Reservation. I grew up with my several siblings in suburban Idaho. The neighborhoods north of our house had a few great bike jumps, hockey courts, and even a safehouse for sneaking video games. Open fields spread out to the south, which, back then, looked surprisingly similar to the magical land of Prydain, littered with streams and trees. It was out there that my brothers and I, in one way or another, actually lived the adventures you’ve read in my books. Then I accidentally grew up. On accident—I mean it. Lucky for me, I still find adventure here and there—in places where it’s easier for adults to see it. Like Xi’an, Cusco, and Stonehenge. Being a grownup also meant I had to become a productive member of society, so I decided that writing adventures would be the next best thing to living them. That’s what I do. And I’m glad you could join me—we have some exciting things ahead of us.

5. Weekend in Weighton by Terry Murphy -

   I live in Cheshire, England and started writing as soon as I could jab a pencil at a piece of paper. I wrote my first proper story about a huge tsunami hitting my primary school (ahead of my time, I know!), which was imaginative given that we lived 30 miles inland. I killed off the headmaster's daughter at the end, while saving family and friends, which of course led to my first bad review. I wrote my first novel in my late twenties - a rites of passage type of thing - and it was terrible. After that I wrote the opening to a Chandleresque detective story transposed to Northern England but gave up after seven chapters. Then I got married, had a family and didn't write another creative word for twelve years. My return to writing was a story for my children - 'Warwick The Wanderer and the Battle of the Bands' - and this will soon be my second book published through Amazon. After another lean period, I went back to my detective story, re-wrote the opening, got some invaluable feedback from the Authonomy community and spent a year completing the full manuscript.     Stefan Duncan is a full time artist and author in Charlotte, NC. He was born in Fayetteville, NC and spent his childhood summers at Lake Waccamaw, N.C. Stefan’s dream has always been to become a successful published author. While working a variety of jobs for novel research, Stefan became the editor of two weekly small town newspapers. Stefan completed Basic Law Enforcement Training. As an investigative reporter for the Washington Daily News, he rode several nights a week with the k-9 unit sergeant. He covered murder trials, participated with drug raids, and the apprehension of wanted criminals. He won an Associate Press Award for best investigative reporting and taught creative writing at community colleges. In addition, he had signed a six book/movie contract with a casting agency in Wilmington. Unfortunately, he had a near fatal auto accident that left him in a coma for weeks. His parents were asked to donate his organs when it appeared he was dying. During that last minute of life, Stefan woke from his coma. With a dozen broken bones, head injury, and seemingly permanent nerve damage to his legs, writing became a great challenge. As a result, Stefan’s dream of becoming a successful writer was side tracked. Stefan’s path to becoming an artist is an interesting story. He discovered from a talking goose that he was destined to become an artist as his means of expression. Gradually he made his transition from writer to artist. What he had lost in concentration with writing seemed to have doubled on his art side. Weeks after joining a local art guild, he received attention over a "glory tree" painting. He thought that the tree was like him and that he had just discovered what he was destined to do. He was meant to do “works of art that would give the world more Light.” Now Mr. Duncan is also a novelist in the fantasy genre. His published works include several books in 2013 along with short stories and poetry. His debut novel "Swordslinger - For The Glory Of Love" reached #1 on Kindle's E-book Contemporary Epic Fantasy.
