I couldn’t handle the rejections of my story submissions, and put my creations aside, believing I had an over-inflated opinion of my work, and actually had no talent. Despite this, once in a while over the years, I would fan the embers and try again… with the same result. Success and recognition came at last a couple of years ago thanks to my creations on Squidoo and Ezine Articles, when a different writing career than I had envisaged began. An online journal led to my own website, and the recent creation of my booksite, ceedee4kids dedicated to my children's stories.     I'm originally from a suburb of Pittsburgh in Western Pennsylvania. I earned my Bachelor's Degree from Seton Hill University with a major in Theatre and a minor in Art. After participating in various artistic pursuits, I applied to California State University in order to complete my Teaching Credential and Master's Degree. I've been a resident of California since 1984 and currently reside in Lancaster, CA located in the high Mojave desert. For the most part, Dominoes was written in the latter half of 2012, but the final pages were composed during the first week of January, 2013. The settings and timeline closely mirror real events taking place in the summer and fall of 2012, but the story lines and characters are completely fictional. I thoroughly enjoyed writing this novel and look forward to feedback from my readers. If you like suspense and short chapters, Dominoes may be the book for you. Too much hassle all those envelopes and trips to the post office. I always wanted better results on eBay and so I started to study everything about selling. This helped me in two ways. Firstly with my selling on eBay and also the job I started at the time which was insurance telesales. What a hard job that was. However, I stuck the job out for just over 7 and a half years. I had always remained in the top ten sales people there out of just over 200. So I didn't do so badly. If you want a good tip in selling whether on the internet or face-to-face then here it is... Don't think of it as selling. Think of it as helping people get what they want. You're providing a service. Example... If someone is struggling to buy a car but can't afford it. You could help them if you were offering an inexpensive car buying service. You shouldn't be trying to sell it to them. Instead, you would be letting them know of a solution. When I sold insurance there were different add-on products available. I didn't try to get everyone to buy them all. Instead, if I found they would benefit from having one then I'd just make them aware of it. The customer would then make their own mind up whether to have it or not. I digress. So, I left that job and began to market my own products from the internet. That is a struggle because there is so much to learn. But I did learn by sticking at it and trying everything I found. However, I certainly don't profess to know everything. Who does? I am always learning and always will. Sadly my father passed away 2 months before I left that job. As I had looked after him for many years I missed him very much. Still do. This made bury myself into the internet and making money online. So what I do now is create information products that I know will help people. Provide them solutions to problems. So many out there are only interested in selling you their product/service.     J.P. Grider (1966 - ) born in Paterson, New Jersey as Julianne Pellegrino, was raised in Haledon, New Jersey, the oldest of six siblings. Her love of writing started early in her childhood, when she started writing poetry in-between homework assignments. As part of a school work program as a Journalism major in High School, J.P. Grider worked as a freelance reporter for a local newspaper, writing feature stories about exceptional high-school classmates. She studied Television Production and Film Writing at Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey, where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Communications. Two of J.P. Grider's novels have won awards in the Textnovel Writing Contest, with her first published book – Unplugged (A Portrait of a Rock Star) – reaching Semi-finalist position. Though Unplugged is not her first novel written, it is the first to be published. Her second novel, Maybe This Life, published in 2012, was actually her first attempt at writing a novel. After completing the whole manuscript, Grider decided to scrap the whole thing and rewrite Maybe This Life from scratch. In Grider's opinion, the difference between the two was night and day. Currently, J.P. Grider is continuing work on the third book of her Young Adult Paranormal trilogy – A Heart of Honor – and continues to work on stories in the Adult Contemporary/Paranormal romance genre as well.

    I am Christine – a wife, mother, grandmother, and throughout each of these also a farmer for 40+ years. I'm a 'used to be' – Secretary, Lifeline Telephone Counsellor, Community Careworker, Student Mentor, and Tutor. Today I'm a born-again writer, after successfully completing a respected writing course back in the 1970's. One of my markers of that time suggested – ‘I fear for your work at the hands of hard-nosed editors who regard all love as sentimental nonsense’. He was right. I couldn’t handle the rejections of my story submissions, and put my creations aside, believing I had an over-inflated opinion of my work, and actually had no talent. Despite this, once in a while over the years, I would fan the embers and try again… with the same result. Success and recognition came at last a couple of years ago thanks to my creations on Squidoo and Ezine Articles, when a different writing career than I had envisaged began. An online journal led to my own website, and the recent creation of my booksite, ceedee4kids dedicated to my children's stories. At last all paths have led me to self-publishing success with my series of children's e-books, and the first book in a series of farming memoirs now in its final editing stages – to be published as soon as I can wrap my head around the requirements of submission to Smashwords, my latest giant learning curve. Several more children's books are also in various stages – one quite close to fruition, others still in my 'think tank' or in the roughest draft forms.
