Where Awesome Book Readers Meet Awesome Writers
- Connor by Dormaine G. -
I was born in New York and lived there with my family until I was eight when we moved to Mississippi. Ten years later, I went to college at Xavier University in New Orleans, Louisiana for about two years then moved to Massachusetts for life experience. Eventually, I moved back to New York where I became a registered nurse and studied forensic nursing. After working there as a nurse for some years, I started doing travel nursing and loved it. I decided to stop traveling while in Colorado to stay close by family. Shortly after, I met my wonderful husband and have been here ever since. Even as a child, I have always had a love for science fiction and enjoyed it through books, movies and comics. I have dabbled in writing throughout the years, and decided it was time to let my true self free. I took some time off from work to pursue a career in writing and recently published my first book called Connor. I plan on following up with a series of books under the Connor name and my goal is to be finished with the second book by the middle of 2014.

- Dogged Determination (A Love-Haight Novella) -
Reagan Hill divides time between homes in Nebraska and Illinois. But Reagan's heart really is in San Francisco. There could have been no other setting for the Love-Haight urban fantasy serialized novel. A world traveler, Reagan is first and foremost a fiction author, but also a journalist, writing instructor, history-buff, and avid mystery reader. Reagan switches between classical music and the Mamas and the Papas when writing the exploits of Thomas and Evelyn. A faded, glittery San Francisco T-shirt waits in the closet, and a colorful picture of Haight-Ashbury sits on the desk. Reagan invites you to look at the city by the bay in a new and fractured light.

- Assignment Zero: An Alexis Parker Short by G.K. Parks -
G.K. Parks only recently decided to try her hand at writing after leaving law school and then spending a couple of years working on a Master of Arts in Criminology/Criminal Justice. The real world is often a challenging and daunting place and avoidance via further educational endeavors seemed like a great idea. Having spent some time earlier in life dabbling with fictional characters and scenarios, the task of writing the first novel began in July, 2012. A year and a half later, G.K. Parks has two published full-length novels and has recently started a prequel novella series (Assignment Zero is the first). The days are filled with writing, drinking copious amounts of caffeine, and torturing anyone who wants to listen about plotlines, subplots, and whether or not a particular character will survive the duration of the novel. Days and nights blur together since most of the writing takes place between the hours of midnight and eight a.m. The daytime is spent working on revisions and brainstorming additional scenarios, not to mention the occasional dinner out with friends or family so as not to appear to be a total recluse. Although, when being honest, sometimes its more fun to spend time with the made up characters than actual people.

- Green River – a Shifter Chronicle -
I grew up in a small northern Minnesotan town, married my high school sweetheart, had two beautiful children and as soon as we could, we moved to a warmer climate. I have worked with my husband building and decorating custom homes for years. After loving every kind of vampire book, movie, and series, I decided that I wanted to know more. I can write a book I thought, how hard can that be? Well....very hard. But I stuck to it and finished my first book Royal Blood Chronicles Book One, Katrina, The Beginning, in August 2009.

- On a Wing and a Prayer by Jackie Weger -
I've been writing romance novels off and on for thirty years. I enjoy writing. Meeting my characters is like meeting and making new friends. I love meeting new people. I've traveled to many exotic locales from the wilds of Northern Ontario to the deepest jungles in Panama and made friends along the way. Listen, I was raised poor, married poor, had five kids, so stayed poor. I made a little money writing romance novels and found that all of the things I'd hoped one day to own no longer appealed. I discovered what I enjoyed most was destination travel--going to new and strange places, meeting people, learning their customs, their foods, how they survive good times and bad. I lived part of one winter with trappers in the Louisiana Swamps, volunteered at a sister of Mercy Mission in Colon, Panama--and had one of the most interesting conversations in my life with an old man and his dog as we sat on a bench waiting for a train in the Village of Versailles. I don't dress fancy, drive fancy, or live fancy. When I look around my life, I find my most precious possession is my passport. It carries the memories of all the wonderful people I've met thither and yon. Right this minute, I'm sitting still to write in a tiny rural community in Texas--but golly, my passport is up to date--handy for when the travel bug nips at my heels once again. Who knows? I might end up in your neighborhood one day. I adore gossip, so be ready to spill the beans.
