I have been interested in personal development and spirituality for a number of years and have recently been looking at how people use tools in order to bring about positive changes in their lives. In this book we will look at how to make positive changes in your life using a vision board. I will take you through the vision boarding processes and discuss how to use your vision board to manifest what you desire once it’s made. We will then look at creating a written vision board, as I love writing and found that a combination of visual images and written goals helped me to make positive changes in my life. I later realised that it could do the same for others and have written this book to share my knowledge.

Writing about how I wanted my life to be in five years time seemed daunting, I felt like up until I started this process I had been plodding along, taking opportunities as they came along, having fun but not really planning much of a career or life for myself which lasted long into the future.

You can create a vision board for your life as a whole or alternatively for an area of your life that you feel needs attention. We will then take a more in depth look at each area in turn and create a written vision of how you are going to get from where you are now to where you want to be in the future. I have used 1, 3 and 5 year time frames when writing my vision.

My parents both loved books, my father read detective, adventure and espionage stories while my mother read historical fiction and romance so I grew up with a passion for reading most genres and this is reflected in my novels which although set in the 20th Century are a mixture of all these. I write both military history and historical fiction and the inspiration behind my writing was my father in law, Ted Taylor.
Ted was conscripted into the Rifle Brigade in September 1939 and fought in the Defence of Calais in May 1940 after which he spent five years as a POW. Although he’d never spoken about it we finally managed to persuade him to talk on tape and received a very sanitised version of the fighting and his subsequent years in a POW camp. In 2008 Ted suffered a crippling stroke and ended up in a nursing home. To cheer him up I suggested writing up his war experiences as a book.
This was quite daunting as I had no background in military history. So I began the long process of reading everything I could about the Defence of Calais, which wasn’t much. The battle was totally eclipsed by the evacuation from Dunkirk and was rarely mentioned, even on the most recent documentaries. I knew even less about the treatment of the ordinary POW at the hands of their captors or their lives, having grown up on a diet of sanitised POW camp films and even one comedy set in a Stalag, none of which bore any reality to the truth. Like most authors I struggled to find a publisher but eventually, Ted’s story, Surviving the Nazi Onslaught, was published by Pen & Sword Books Ltd.
I was now hooked on writing military history and have written several other books, but I also wanted to write fiction because I couldn’t find anything I wanted to read. I have always been a voracious reader. I’d spend hours in the library as a child and spent all my pocket money on books, progressing quickly from Enid Blyton to Agatha Christie amongst others. I’d rush home with my latest books, disappear up into my bedroom and not come down again until they were finished. My Dad always used to say they were a waste of money because I could get through two or three books in a weekend but they weren’t. They were my escape from reality and the more I read the more it fuelled my imagination. As I grew older I read anything I could get my hands on, crime, thrillers, historical fiction, occasionally romance and science fiction and of course chic lit! The library was my second home and I would always come out with the maximum number of books I could borrow and they were always returned well before the due date.
I liked big books I could lose myself in, probably to escape my disastrous relationships. Prams, pushchairs and my arms groaned under the weight but it was worth it to stay sane. I often think the most important thing I did for my children, apart from making them independent, was to give them a love of reading.
Having finally extradited myself from the last bad relationship I spent two years on my own finding myself again and then I met David. I no longer needed to escape my reality so I stopped reading. I found books by authors I’d always loved no longer held my attention so I decided to write something I wanted to read and I had the perfect idea.
Whist writing Ted’s story I learnt that Brenda, my mother in law, had been a nurse throughout the London Blitz, and she and Ted were engaged when he went to war. Five long years later he came home and they were married. Their story fascinated me. They did not have the benefit of hindsight. Brenda waited even though she had no idea how long it would be or even if Ted would ever come home. Ted had somehow held onto the belief that he would come home even though he had no idea how long that might be. I decided to write up Ted and Brenda’s story including an element of fiction to cover something Ted did in France.
I soon realised it was impossible to fictionalise my in laws because they were real people. I couldn’t have them doing things that weren’t in character nor did I want to alienate the family and have my husband not talking to me because I had made his mum do something she wouldn’t have! So I changed their names and although the story is inspired by them and based on something that did happen, all the characters are now 100% fiction. Lives Apart: A WW2 Chronicle is in 5 books and under £5 in the UK. This was followed by Betrayed and another 5 book series, Obsession. Secret Lives is my latest series and will be followed next year by Deadly Secrets.

About Danny and the Trip to Outer Space

The story starts when Danny accidentally spills soda on one of his birthday gifts, a RC plane, and it enlarges enough so it could fit Danny’s whole family inside it. Unfortunately, Danny’s house is destroyed when the machine starts up and the family decides to travel to Massachusetts (from England). On the way, they run into Grandpa Garth’s plane and all of Danny’s relatives join Danny’s family.
Two hours later, after a nap, Danny finds out that the spacecraft has flown through the atmosphere and they have entered outer space. They land on the Moon and have a fun time there. When they come back to their spacecraft, 100 Martian Spacebattlers attack the spacecraft. The only way Danny and his passengers could survive the attack was to fire their own cannons. They eventually win the battle and head on farther from Earth and more into outer space.
Later, they go through a wormhole and meet a few oddities there, like another Earth with a hotel and a strange planet where most of it is made out of food. And you must read on to see how Danny’s experience comes together while traveling through the dangers and mystifications of outer space.

Alec Mustafayev is a self published author from Rhode Island. He published his first book, Rebellious, at the age of 15. He has said that the struggles faced by characters in his books are usually expressions of his own frustrations in life. He was inspired to write his own books by authors like J.K Rowling, among others.

Life: Alec was born on August 6th, 2002 to Aydin and Natalie Mustafayev. He initially attended a private Christian school, but was kicked out after frequently misbehaving. He became an Atheist later in life. In his early years, he was diagnosed with ADHD. This led to him receiving a 504 plan in middle school. Alec says that this is what inspired his character Ms. Garcia. While in middle school, he preformed in many school plays, and at one point wanted to be an actor. During his first year of high school, he wrote a first draft of Rebellious, which eventually led him to changing his goals and becoming a writer. He currently attends Classical high school in Providence, Rhode Island. After being questioned, Alec confirmed that the abusive parents depicted in Rebellious were not based on his real life.

“We all have family problems, but my parents and Parker’s parents couldn’t be more different. I just thought ‘What could be worse than bullies at school? Bullies at home!’ and wrote that into the story.”

Rebellious is the first book written by Alec Mustafayev. It follows Parker, a teenager who attends the fictional Johnson high school in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The name of the school caused some confusion, as there is a similarly named Johnston high school also located in Pawtucket. Although the location of Johnson high school is never explicitly mentioned in the book, the names of the streets it is located nearby in the story imply that it is in place of Charles E Shea high school.
The book describes Johnson high school as being considered “the worst high school in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.” Parker is forced to go to this school by his parents after going to a protest against police brutality behind their backs. His parents lie to the school that Parker has a mental disorder as punishment. Due to this lie, Parker is given special help from Ms. Garcia, causing bullying from other students.
The book caused some shock for its depiction of minors in dangerous situations, such as fighting, using guns, police brutality, drug dealing, and addiction to the fictional drug megalómano. Alec has said that the political issues depicted in his book are not meant to reflect any similar issues in real life. This was likely said to stop any speculation that the police protests in his book are based on Black Lives Matter.

Amir Bavar was born in 1968 in Iran. One day, in 1978, at the age of nine, he was rushed out of school by his mother and found himself boarding a plane for Italy. The Iranian Islamic Revolution had arrived, and although he didn’t understand it at the time, it was the beginning of his exile.

Life for Amir became an adventure, from going to school in an ancient castle in Firenze and playing tennis on the famed lawns at Wimbledon, to dribbling a soccer ball on the white, sandy beaches of Brazil. However, what he did not realize at the time was that his roots had been permanently up-heaved, that the life he knew and the family and friends he had left behind would only live in his memories. It was a new start, and although fortunate to be among the ones to get away, he was unwittingly catapulted into a new sense of identity and a lifelong journey in search of that ever elusive feeling of belonging.

After high school in Brazil, Amir moved to the U.S. and majored in computer systems engineering with a concentration in creative writing. He met his future wife in engineering lab and got married soon after graduation. Together, they moved to Brazil and started a successful post-production and desktop publishing company.

In 1999, Amir wrote his first feature screenplay, Shutdown, which was considered for production by New Line Cinema with Harrison Ford as one of the attached actors. He then wrote several other screenplays which were very well received and published his first novel, Az – Revenge of an Archangel, in 2015.

In 2016, he wrote an episode for the sitcom Last Man Standing called, My Truck Needs a Wash.

In 2017, Amir’s second and third novels, Samantha and Kiss Me at the Finish Line, will be published.

Bradley is an Aboriginal Studies, Marine Studies and History teacher who works at a specialist high school specifically tailored for mentoring and working with indigenous, At-Risk youth. I almost wish I hadn’t gone down the rabbit hole, and yet, and yet…”
“Down the rabbit hole” has become a term used for referring to a situation that is strange, confusing, or illogical, often mystical or magical, and, in this story, an encounter from which one will emerge with increased knowledge, widened horizons, enriched imagination, and a sense of greatly enlarged possibilities.
In Carroll’s sequel to Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass (1871), near the end of her encounter with the White Queen, Alice protests that “one can’t believe impossible things.” The White Queen famously retorts, “I daresay you haven’t had much practice. When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”
Unlike the White Queen, I do not advocate believing impossible things. But it is much to be hoped that this short story and the anthology that follows it will encourage the reader to consider all the possibilities and therefore believe at least one anomalous thing—perhaps even “before breakfast.”
