When I was 14 years old I had a dream, the dream started with me standing on the edge of a cliff, it was dark, storm clouds all around. I look down to see the white crashing waves below me, smashing against the rocks.

Lying on the ground next to me was the body of a beautiful blonde girl. I remember thinking what a shame it was. She was beautiful. Her throat was slit and her blood smothered her neck.

A voice spoke through the clouds saying “Throw it into the ocean” , “Are you sure ?”, I replied hesitantly knowing somehow this was the voice of the dead girl whose body lay near me. “Yes” the voice replied. I did as the voice requested, I threw her body into the ocean.

I decided to get of the edge of that cliff and make my way inland. This place felt too real to be just a dream yet too unreal to be reality. I found a path that led to a wooden staircase which led to wooden platform, what seemed like a bridge of some kind.

Waiting by the guard rails of that bridge was a girl. When I saw her I felt like we belonged to each other yet in my mind I had no idea who she was…I walked up to her, without saying a word we kissed, I felt the world spin.. Then the dream took a drastic turn.

She became frantic, she was speaking yet I coulden’t hear her voice, she was looking right at me but I can’t remember her face. I know it’s strange but I could almost feel her speaking. She was trying to warn me about a “Watchman” or a guardian of some kind who ensures people don’t cross the bridge I had somehow crossed.

I told her I would come back for her and left. Wandering in the darkness until a butch looking lady found me, she took me to a room, told me to lie on the bed. I did, she stood outside the room and closed the door. As she did a bright light engulfed the door. I then woke up in my bed, awake. Little Bean Seeds (LBS) is a Certified Public Accountant who lives in Hong Kong. She has known herself to be a bookworm ever since she was a primary school student. While most of the other children were running and jumping in the playground during break time, she would go to the library and stick her face in a book until the bell rang. She loves many different kinds of books—self-help, detective, romance, finance, health—and more.

Ariel McMillan learned fairly quickly that life is an adventure. Of course she is a real life mermaid. Her name required it. She loves to make music on the piano and her golden doodle Butterscotch.

I sincerely believe we all have a song, book, or at the very least a story inside us that is worth sharing with the rest of the world. Unfortunately I cannot sing to save my life.
I once asked a female acquaintance to read an erotic fiction story I had written and to give me her opinion. Keep in mind this was a lady with whom I was just social friends with. After a few weeks had passed without any response I contacted her only to find out that she was upset with me.
I still haven’t been able to convince her the story wasn’t my personal experience. I found that most flattering, to think a story I had made up could have brought on such a reaction. Jealousy maybe?
