It’s like someone spread magical potion of abandon in the air, so their soul was locked in a metal cage and couldn’t fly over the world or even make a short sound, because their guards were like a giant black snake which will swallow them if they nag.

Recently eccentric things happened every nights in some parts, people disappeared and nothing was left behind them except their bloody clothes which were found in the forest or dark cliffs, rumors were spread such as angry ghosts, dwarfs or the black dragon which were hidden under the ground since thousands of years ago and had slept for a long time and now got woke and was ready to take revenge from mankind, but who made all these rumors and published them? What’s the benefits of fear to them? No one knows who they really are except a small group of young generation.

From the billions of people only few millions remained, satellite in the space were burned out of the blue and fell to the oceans and made the quiet creatures of the seas upset with all this pollution. Sometimes they didn’t give any mankind any chance to enter the seas, and if any one entered they would be attacked by scary ground swell and directly go to the deeps.
The world was angry with all creatures, they considered them worthy of punishment; ruptured atmosphere caused many acidic rains, territories which remained from the war were divided into the one kingdom, five regions and got new names.

In Deylan, people were farming; it was the only extensive land with forests and with clean drinking water, and governments started artificial forest projects in all its parts and also in the large plains.

Violator dynasties had returned, the legendary stories that could only come out of the books had became reality, tyrants and rich people used to live in different places, far from the others and still had kept their autocracy. Every person dreamed of their facilities, governments in every part were fighting over and over and the fire of power wouldn’t turn off inside their heart. Every day the thirst of it became more and innocents got sacrificed for their never ending desires.

All electric power of the planet had destroyed except one, which rationed between cities, on every street had only one light and regular people had no right to use of the remain technology, and fossil fuel such as oil was selling very expensive, people had less access to it, and way of keeping it safe from thieves was even more harder, besides they had to handle much of disrespectful behaviors.

Producing paraffin candles have started, they have found their way into the houses again such as many years ago, chronicle of people whit lantern in hand returned, but the weird thing was that battery factory was still working, which so many people would rather help without any income to take care of the last technology which soon will becomes a memory.

Perhaps they were able to protect themselves against darkness even for few days.
Only 3 bottles of drinking water was sharing once a week between all families, art and happiness had been forgotten, oblivion ruthlessly took everything with itself, the place of music was only in dirty bars, people used to swap clothing against foods or foods against clothing.

Available money was coopers, silver and gold coins but earning it had become so hard, the value of those metallic evils were higher than human’s life but finally after destroying their habitats, they realized that living the life was the greatest blessing which they had ever got because of everything existed on the ground, the things that didn’t care about before, even kicking the flowers have punishment now.

Building houses was forbidden when they were trying to make more artificial jungles and gardens, by the hope to reborn the earth like the first day, but it was impossible in few years.
It couldn’t heal the scars that man made on his heart, whatever, trying to survive seems to be a perfect idea for them, but for the earth it took hundreds of years to bring back stamina to itself and start a new life, human broke earth’s heart, but why do they ransom the earth for all they want?!

Those conflicts were for having more lands which means fighting for seizing the earth as a personal property, but they destroyed everything. What a ludicrous and painful contradiction!

As for Jasper, he had proven to be an erudite and charming host in spite of his great age, and had regaled her with tales from before the Pogrom and before what men called the Betrayal throughout dinner, until music was heard outside and they looked out the cracked window to see a black War Wagon zoom past with its red lights flashing and its belly (presumably) full of Witch Doctors, after which a silence settled over the room and his tone became more somber. “You want to know what happened … how women became witches and men became Witch Doctors. And how the sexes became so estranged that they would kill each other on sight rather than suffer another Betrayal or Pogrom. Don’t you?”

She nodded slowly.

He dabbed at the corners of his mouth with his napkin and sat back. “Well, I told you how things were, how men and women were. That there weren’t any Witch Doctors except the kind you saw on TV, and there weren’t—” He paused, noticing how they both looked confused. “TV—television—the boob tube, squawk box, the glass teat. Nevermind. It’s not important. The thing is, men and women liked each other. Sure, they got to squabbling once in a while—hell, some might say that was half the fun of it. But they didn’t fear and mistrust each other to the extent that, that—okay, well, some did—they’d kill each other. The point I’m trying to make is: they were bumper cars that enjoyed … bumping.”

Satyena and Jeremiah looked at each other.

“They danced,” said Jasper. “And when they danced it was something to see. But over time that dance began to sour, mainly because, outside the dance hall, only one side seemed to have all the power. Now, whether that was true or not depends on your point of view, but having read all about it and lived through some of it, I’d say the case could be made. And if you’re wondering,” He looked at Satyena. “It was your ancestors that felt they didn’t have any power. So, steps were taken to even the balance, just as they were with my own ancestors, and I think most would say that those steps were successful.”

Again there was the sound of music, and again a War Wagon blew past with its lights flashing.

“The problem with human nature is, it doesn’t know when to stop. Eventually, every apparatus designed to right a wrong just becomes a new one—it has to, you see, because once created, its focus becomes its own survival. That’s when the ideologues come—like saviors, some would say, while others would say like vampires—who feed off everyone’s fear, stoking it and fanning the flames. Our Chairman Kill-sin is a man like that. Perhaps you’ve a counterpart among the witches …”
