My childhood can be simply described in one word: rebellious. Every day, my parents would want me to go outside and play with the other kids. But no. I rebelled. Instead of listening to my mom and dad about getting exercise and some fresh air, I stayed inside doing the most rebellious thing I could think of to exasperate my parents: read. Being an inquisitive child, I spent days reading books and encyclopedias.
I called it expanding my horizons.
My parents called it being lazy.

The first computer in my life appeared when I entered university. It brought entirely new worlds to me. After classes, I would search through breathtaking stories describing unseen worlds, their histories, and characters. The most lasting impression for me was the Fallout series.
I remember everything as if it was just yesterday…

At 22, I went through a pre-midlife crisis. I was finding out my place in the world, trying different jobs and directions for life. Restaurants, websites, freelance, ghostwriting — everything I did, I gave it my all. Life was like a game to me: you earn resources and gold and spend them on armor and equipment.

At the end of 2013, I read my first LitRPG book. I read all of the stories from the first LitRPG wave in Russia. It was a revelation! The two things I liked the most, internet gaming and books, were now seamlessly combined to produce heroic stories. Needless to say, I became a fan of the genre. It was like reading and playing at the same time, a game you could only dream of!

I was full of emotions and energy and purely inspired. I had so many things to say and write that eventually I put pen to paper. The story just wrote itself: a world of mystery, elaborate plot twists, and devious characters. No free hugs, no super luck, no powers and definitely no magic for free. That was the book I ended up writing.

If I’m being totally honest, sometimes I cried when I wrote the traumatizing and dramatic life experiences of Anji. I was with him, side by side, and I felt his pain as if it was my own. And I wanted to share our story with the world.

I am in awe of how fast Chrysalis has been read by readers around the world. I’m forever grateful to the people who inspired me to keep writing and for those that said I should just put a cork in it!

I’d like to thank the Litworld team for doing an amazing job at promoting my book. None of this would have been possible without you guys.

Chrysalis is only beginning, and the world is infinite and terrifying.

ADAMANT AGGRESSORS, released in 2011, is a collection of historic cases that demonstrate unassailable dos and don’ts for dealing with today’s international threats. “What We Learn From Mehmed II of The Ottoman Empire About Dealing With an Adamant Aggressor” is a distillation of one of the cases in that book.

Thatcher graduated from Iowa State College and the University of Chicago. He served in the navy and marine corps reserves, worked in marketing and management with General Electric and the Vendo Company, then founded and led a telecommunications consulting firm, TelCon Associates, for 30 years until his retirement.

While living in the Chicago area, he became involved in politics and was elected to a local high school board of education, serving a term as its President. He has taught classes at Avalon University, William Jewell College and the University of Missouri at Kansas City.

Thatcher and his wife Carol now live near New Braunfels, Texas.

On an extended trek in a closed and largely unexplored inner region of the majestic Himalayan wilderness, in an isolated valley surrounded by vast snow fields and towering ice peaks, explorer M.G. Hawking chanced on a beautiful small village where he encountered remarkable men and women, introduced to him as “masters” and “adepts.”
Our team at Wisdom Masters Press has worked diligently to compose a series of books based on Hawking’s records of his sixty-two months in that remote region of the Himalayas. Originally from Southern California, Dr. Stephen Openshaw received his Masters and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Purdue University in Indiana. On internship he helped military veterans with spinal cord injuries and other serious injuries requiring rehabilitation. He also focused on working with couples, and received extensive training in couples therapy. He worked with one of the founders of the UCLA Human Sexuality Program, at the Institute for Sex and Marital Therapy, learning to help couples with their intimate difficulties.

Dr. Openshaw lives happily in Hawai’i and continues to support our armed services as a Clinical Health Psychologist at Tripler Army Medical Center, working with their oncology programs. I was born and raised in Portsmouth, England. My background is mainly in theatre and film, where I originally pursued careers in acting, directing, producing, editing and screen writing. Most of this work was writing screenplays for independent companies, some of which were made into low budget films and others, which remained on the page. In the latter years, I realised that of all these different jobs, writing was the one I enjoyed the most and often found myself wishing that I could just write stories for a living.

After meeting the love of my life on a touring theatre production, we both chose to leave the theatrical life behind and came to live together on the Isle of Wight to combine our talents of writing and art.
