About Becoming Starlight: A Shared Death Journey from Darkness to Light by Sharon Prentice PhD

The Shared Death Experience (SDE). Most people know of or know someone who has experienced a Near Death Experience (NDE), but very few have heard of the SDE. The SDE is similar to the NDE except that it occurs not to the person who is dying, but to their loved one who is physically well. That person could be sitting right next to their loved one, or sitting across the room, or even across the globe unaware of the impending death of someone they love. Location or activity level is of no consequence to the SDE. That person, the loved one, is “invited along” to witness the aftermath of physical death. The invitation extended has no RSVP–the person accompanying the dying individual can neither accept nor refuse–they are just “taken” or “given” the experience by powers outside of their control.

Becoming Starlight is one of those stories. It is a story filled with the type of pitfalls that accompany much of mankind on the journey through existence. I am a 27 year old father, that has a variety of hobbies and passions. Let’s talk about what got me into writing though. A few months ago about 06/2018 I had received a job that was my dream job. As time progressed, I learned that my grammar, writing, and speech needed a bit of improvement. In learning this, I took courses on those very subjects for about a full two weeks, day in and day out. Once I had finished, I thought, “How can I practically apply these teachings so that are not just words.”

I started writing. At first, I enjoyed that I was applying the practices. However, quickly within two days I learned I really loved creating a magical world with just my words. I grew increasingly excited as each day passed. Before I knew it, my novella was written and I felt a relief in my heart.

Then came about another 3-4 weeks of editing. I learned a lot during those times, made friends, and joined communities so that I could grow as a writer. At this point, I was serious about publishing my piece. Now that I have done that, I will finish my last 4 books for the series, and I hope that I can inspire and motivate all the minds that read it.

My most prized hopes are one day that I can turn the series into a movie so I can sit down with my wife, and daughter and say, “I made this movie, I produced the idea behind it, and it came to life.”
