But we all know Jess wrote it herself.
In the interest of seeming professional let’s all pretend she didn’t.

J.D Evergreen comes from the land down under and lives along a coastline, filled with all manner of creatures that twitter and cheep in the early morning light, as they frolic through the trees and sing their joy to the world as a new day dawns over the endless ocean.
But most people say Australia on the Mornington Peninsula.
She spent her childhood writing small short stories and inventing worlds that were all her own. When she became an adult, she put her efforts into more adultly things such as acquiring a Bachelor in Primary Education, and a Post-Graduate Certificate of Ancient History.
Eventually, she became bored with life as an everyday adult and returned to her writing where she could live in her own worlds and share them with others.
Now a certified procrastinator of adulting, mostly because they wouldn’t let her return her subscription to adult life, Jessica spends countless hours crafting worlds that inspire the imagination. Worlds that make you love or hate a character, cry for their sadness and joys, worlds that immerse you so completely that you can’t put it down.
Well at least that’s what Jess thinks about it.
Every so often Jessica steps back into the world of adulting and teaches at her local schools, but she is quickly reminded she doesn’t like adulting and always returns to her writing.

Special skills.
Jessica can turn just about any song into a song about food and will often sing (badly) at the top of her lungs about the things she is doing. Frequent renditions of “Everyday I’m editin,” and “I will always love food,” are an everyday occurrence in Jessica’s household.
Jessica knows every Disney song ever, and she knows the words to all of them.
Except for the opening song of the lion king, but then does anyone know what the real words are? Jessica lives under the suspicion that there are no real words and on the day of recording the person just sang sounds into the microphone.
Jessica likes to build things out of useless items and then puts them around the house, so her housemates have to live with them.
Items may include:
A 4ft snowman made of plastic cups,
A plant holder made of soft drink bottles
And,
Rainbow glitter sneakers that leave a trail of glitter everywhere she goes, and everywhere she doesn’t.

Writing roots
From a very young age, Jessica told stories to her sisters and cousins, making them up as she went. Her family became so enthralled with her stories they encouraged her to tell them again and again.
Growing bored of retelling the same story, over and over she wrote them down and gave them to her cousins so they would leave her alone.
And thus Jessica’s first books were born.
As Jessica grew older other things began to take up her time, like schooling, friends, and dating, but she always managed to find her way back to writing. At the age of twenty-three, Jessica decided to write her first novel Shadowsoul, and she shared it amongst her family and friends. Their responses to her book gave her the motivation and confidence she needed to continue her writing and so she started another novel, Celestia.
Celestia is the first book Jessica was brave enough to publish, she published it because it felt selfish to keep it all to herself.
Also because retelling a three hundred page story over and over gets old really fast.
Jessica writes stories filled with magic, adventures and powerful story lines.
Mostly because those are the kinds of books she likes to read.
And if she is going to spend 12+ hours a day working on them for free, she is going to enjoy the story.

Cats and their everlasting ability to make all humans believe they are beneath them.
Vegetables she grew herself, yum yum.
The colour green!
Making pointless things, because it’s fun.
And googling random things, like how to talk to giraffes.

S.A. has been “A life-long Sci-Fi nut!” I got started on his path by my older brother Carlton. I am 8 years his junior, and just wanted to fit in. By just walking into his room uninvited was usually resulted in an adventure in pain. But on a rare occasion when I snuck in I saw on his b/w TV a man with pointed ears. I bravely asked, “Who is that?” He turned around in his chair both upset and thrilled.
He was upset I once again forgot to knock on his door. This time I avoided the mandatory brother butt kicking by actually being interested in something he loved. He took the time to explain what he was watching and what is was about. Then he gave me news I just could not believe, it was on every night at 7pm. I was hooked. As you have probably figured out by now it was Star Trek and my voyage to where no man has gone before was just beginning.
This one show took me on a journey I have yet to get off of. I have done my 5 year mission and signed on for a lifetime. I have been introduced to many more shows by my family. My mother called me to her room one night in 1977 and said to me, “S.A. you’ve got to see this curly haired man with jelly babies!” I was like, “Mom, what in the world are you talking about?” That was my journey into the world of Doctor Who!
Being the younger of two children and also being so much younger than my brother it gave me the opportunity to be the only child in the house. It also gave me many years of alone time. Having sci-fi filled that void and I thank him for introducing me to it.
Next to help me was my dad, Charles (Joe) the quiet one. I would go down and sit with him, in the kitchen, while he made dinner every night. Yes my dad did cook! He was a short order chef in college and my mother dared not go into his kitchen. I soon realized that you can learn a lot while watching sci-fi not only did he get me hooked on my next show he also taught me how to cook! But what in the world would a man who lived and died American Football and had no time for Baseball love so much? The answer a little known sci-fi show called Space 1999! It was a short lived, but awesome, sci-fi show that just needed a real budget to be great.
With all that great sci-fi I wonder why I picked that topic to write about. I will always love the “Doctor” more than life on Earth. But the show that got me the most was Babylon 5! This series was kicked around on TV for time slots but was so good! Just one thing pay attention carefully because things you find out in year one you don’t get the answer to until year four and I love that. I have many many others I have yet to name.
To all those great writers I thank you! All of you have molded me into the sci-fi nut I am today! One rule they taught me that I make sure is in all my books is just when you think you are going one way I make sure you realize that boy was I wrong. He made me think I was going this way but he actually to me that way. To me that is the best feeling of all! Never ever let someone figure you out.
Sci-Fi allows me to take you to places that will blow your mind. I was always taught to stretch your imagination make it your own. Mine is now being shared with you. Being a writer allows me to take my readers on a wonderful journey to places never before seen or imagined I hope you jump on and enjoy the ride!!!!

She was always encouraged to write, read, rhyme, play, act, sing, dance, and be as creative as possible by her parents. She feels her books bring in many of the favorite ways kids learn. I have been cooking since I was 13 years old – frying potatoes, doing some trivial things. And I always knew more than my friends. However, I built a further career consciously. Even while studying, I realized that I prefer cookery to the confectionery business. Then she worked with Japanese and Mexican cuisines. Now I’m actively learning Italian cuisine. I cook pasta with mild cheese and basil pesto sauce. People are surprised when they try it. But it’s very tasty. I do not regret spending time preparing food. I have an Nh.D. It’s similar to a Ph.D., except with an N. This one means Doctorate in Nursing Homes. I got it at the University of Experience. One day my mother moved into a nursing home. On another she died there. What happened in between changed my life.

There’s No Place Like (Nursing) Home – Stories of Dementia, Dying, and Peeing on the Christmas Tree is a book for my friends, almost all of whom I haven’t met. There are 80 million of them across the country. They’re called Baby Boomers. They, like me, are getting older. So are their parents. Many, my friends and their parents, are or will end up in nursing homes. Most who do will die there. Whether my friends learn to smile in between can change their lives too.

The book is a short folksy memoir, a compendium of stories, real ones, filled with heartbreak and agony, as well as laughter and mirth. Shudder as judge and jury shout out their daily verdict – guilty as charged – for daring to take mom from her home of fifty-plus years. Listen as she painstakingly tells us, day in and day out and in no uncertain terms, that she wants to go back. Sit in the mortuary as – still in shock over the ‘new normal’ – we begin planning her funeral, long before she dies. Hold your nose for stories about diapers, hers, and sons learning to parent their parents. Hold your ears as a gentle and loving mom curses in words that would shame a sailor and which, B.D. – Before Dementia – she would have been embarrassed to hear, much less say. There are stories about her ‘friends,’ from a roommate asking if we have seen her son, and asking again tomorrow, the day after, and the day after that, to a middle-aged man whose wife has likely been sentenced to decades – that’s right, decades – in her new home.

The stories are about what I saw, learned, and felt, and how I learned to smile again, then and now. An old man mistaking a Christmas Tree for a toilet will do that. Three-part dementia-inspired operas will do it as well. So will listening to your saintly mom call a white nurse a “honky.” I cried, long and often, but in learning to look in the right places, I found laughter amidst my tears. In the midst of the tempest, I also found serenity for a troubled soul. So can my friends.
