Tessa Buckley grew up in the countryside just outside London. She was an inveterate scribbler, and spent much of her childhood writing and illustrating stories. After leaving school she studied Interior Design at Chelsea College of Art and spent the next few years working for architects and designers in London, before a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis forced her to give up her career.. At that time there were no drug treatments available for MS, so she started researching nutritional medicine as a possible means of controlling her symptoms Once she had stabilised her condition, she took up writing again, writing articles on health and nutrition and her other passion, family history.
At the same time, she started writing for children, after her ten year old daughter complained that she couldn’t find enough adventure stories to read.
