Born in North London in 1955. Left school at 16 without qualifications. Found work as a trainee in a commercial art studio, left after two years to travel. That became the main passion in my life. So far, I have visited 28 countries. I would travel, return, find work, save money and then travel again. That set the pattern of my life for many years. My jobs have ranged from pearl diving (dishwashing) to English teacher. By the late 70s it was becoming more and more difficult to find work and so I looked around for a qualification that I could take with me on my travels. To cut a long story short I ended up studying for a degree in Social Science as a mature student. Because I had been out of education so long I attended a remedial class and my tutor, a published author herself, encouraged me to try creative writing. It wasn’t until I graduated that I tried my hand at it and then I sat down and wrote six pages of my first novel. Then I was struck down by a severe case of writer’s block. I couldn’t touch them for two years until I returned to Guatemala, but I took those pages with me and was able to finish my novel there.
Guatemala, C.A. has become my adopted country. The first time I visited was as a traveller. The second time was as an exchange student during my gap year and it was then that I met the woman who is now my wife. I returned to England to finish my degree, but found no work opportunities because of the continuing recession. Returning to Guatemala I became an English teacher. I also married the woman I loved and became the step-father to three children. For the next 15 years I taught English, first in a Language Academy. From there I progressed to teaching independently and went on to form my own company and employ others. A prolonged economic down turn finished off my business and with my wife I returned to England. After several years we returned to Guatemala.
When I finished my first novel I was quite surprised and pleased by the result. Since then I’ve written five more. They are all fantasy novels except one.

Currently living in Kingsley, Michigan, I am a U.S. Navy veteran, father of two, step-father to three more. Somewhere in the course of my life I set some goals that I felt if I could accomplish these goals I would have accomplished something in my life. One of those goals was to write a book. I accomplished that goal in 2014 with the publication of my first book, a short story called Rust. Rust was a story loosely based on my daughter and some of the trials young girls face in their formative years.

Three years later I published my second book, Nora’s Ark. A Novella in length, and at the time it was my crowning achievement in writing. Nora’s Ark was a story that was 11 years in the making, a story that I had start to finish in my head since 2006. When I first got the idea, I began frantically writing the book on an old computer. I managed to get a whole chapter and a half when I lost steam, and the book sat untouched for 11 years. It wasn’t until April of 2017 that I got enough courage to actually sit down and FINISH Nora’s Ark. With the constant whip cracking from my wife, I managed to finish it in early May of 2017, and I had it published on Amazon.com.

With Nora’s Ark out of the way, and some good reviews behind me, I then set upon my biggest challenge, a full-length novel kDira’s World, a post-apocalyptic adventure set one hundred years after the end of the world.

And then there is Johnny Rockett series, my tribute to all the things I love about classic science fiction, with a little humor thrown in to jazz it up a bit.

My influences are Isaac Asimov for his Foundation and Robots trilogies, Arthur C. Clarke for 2001 and others, Andre Norton for her countless sci-fi and fantasy adventures and her ability to crank out book after book, Terry Brooks for his Shannara Trilogy (and more!) and Richard Bach for his books Illusions and Jonathan Livingston Seagull. A lover of science fiction, fantasy, steam punk, I try to incorporate something of every book I have loved into every story I write.

The study of antiquity is properly accounted worthless except as it may be made living knowledge which illuminates and enriches our contemporary life. Owing to a remarkable series of events in an isolated region of the Himalayas, I encountered an extraordinary group of people and, through those encounters, was privileged to learn that much of the secret knowledge of the ancient Zhang Zhung culture has not only been preserved, it is powerful, richly illuminating, and utilized to this day. As the reader will discover, these shrouded secrets formulate the explorations in this book.
As one of their most illuminating concepts, those traditions relate that there is a group of esoteric teachings—the ‘Four Portals’—which set forth the true nature of physical reality and techniques of powerful elemental magic, or “sorcery.” The first traces of the teachings are thought to have appeared as part of the lore of the pre-Tibetan Zhang Zhung culture that arose in Tibet several thousand years ago, but may have originated far earlier. Being a forbidden body of knowledge, said to convey enormous powers, the teachings disappear from the historical record for countless centuries, not to reemerge until the 7th century A.D. in the arcane scriptures of the ancient pre-Buddhist B’on religion.
According to those ancient traditions, the teachings of the ‘Four Portals’ were formulated by the earliest known “Buddha-like” master, Tonpa Shenrab Miwoche. The B’on traditions relate this historic event as occurring as early as 18,000 to 16,000 B.C. Although still shrouded in mystery, our most recent research indicates that the extant evidence places the earliest date of the Zhang Zhung culture at about 6,000 B.C., although the date of 18,000 to 16,000 B.C. may indicate the existence of a true Zhang Zhung or pre-Zhang Zhung culture existing prior to the ‘Younger Dryas Boundary’ cataclysmic event that effectively erased early civilizations from the historical record.
Much like our most recent historical Buddha, Shenrab renounced his life as a prince of the royal family to become a monk. Over a period of “many years,” the traditions relate, he gained access to secret knowledge that had been imparted, recorded, and hidden away some two-thousand years earlier by an entity known as “Gekhoe.” With this knowledge Shenrab achieved enlightenment and “otherworldly powers,” then later composed a comprehensive body of teachings to instruct qualified seekers on the means and techniques of attaining the most elevated wisdom and power. That secret knowledge is explored in this book.

Many people believe that objects or artifacts can be possessed by the spirits of their dead owners. That is why it is always dangerous to scavenge from a battlefield.

Matt King is an American businessman in Tokyo, living the Roppongi lifestyle until the Lehman Shock brings his life crashing down. He is transferred to the Kobe office, back into the orbit of his old pal Dave, the narrator of the story. The choice given him by his company is stark. Sink or swim. He does so in the caves and escarpments at the end of the peninsula, where the Imperial Army of Japan made its final stand in the Battle of Okinawa.

Thus begins a strange odyssey into the horror of that battle and the tragedy of the civilians caught in the cross-fire on the cliffs and in the caves, which their ghosts still haunt. And into the spiritual pain in the heart of Okinawa even seventy years after the end of the war. “I had seen and I would remember,” writes Dave. “For me, there was an exit into the sunlight. But for them, there is no way out of those caves.”
