By imagining it, we partake in a hidden realm of wonders, but we retain our sense of propriety. We don’t redraw the line between what we believe to be fact and fiction; we rather wisely suspend it, and we are entertained and enlightened. We can assume that’s what Lewis Carroll himself did. He could write his books about Wonderland and still maintain his position as a respected Oxford professor. But imagine what would have happened if Carroll had proclaimed the reality of Wonderland. What if he had launched an expedition? What if he had discovered it?
“I found myself in something of a similar situation when I chanced on the Himalayan village of Siddhalaya. I found myself in a realm that was universally legendary, yet long presumed, at least in the Western world, to be little more than mythical. And yet, there I was. And in reading this, as one of the ‘small number of people with a specialized knowledge or interest,’ you’re about to be there as well, in a world of magnificent potentials of which you’ve had visions perhaps from earliest childhood.
“The non-ordinary events and esoteric knowledge I encountered in Siddhalaya inspired me to write a book series recounting my experiences in that remarkable location, based upon the extensive chronicles I kept during that time.
