I endeavor to make the heros and heroines true to their time period. That means that many women may seem weak at first glance, but they soon find their inner grit. Unlike today’s heroines, the Regency heroine could not openly defy convention at the time. Instead, she had to find a way around the convention. That is half the fun! Likewise, heros were expected to be chauvinistic. In fact, the etymology of chauvinism shows that the word chauvinism did not appear until the late 1800’s and then was a pejorative term the English had for the French who continued to be slavishly patriotic to Napoleon. What we call chauvinistic, the Regency called masculine or virile. I will always choose to make my characters as historically correct as possible, even if that means they seem a bit politically incorrect to today’s audiences.

I am a meticulous perfectionist who taught AP English for 20 years at the high school level before moving to teach at a community college because I was disheartened by the decline in American education, especially the decline of the reading level. Be forewarned that the longer sentences in my books cause an upward trend in the reading level, which settles at about seventh grade, instead of the fourth grade level found in newspapers and many, so called, adult books. An occasional typo may slip by me, but is usually caught by my editor, who is a fellow teacher, or by my Beta and ARC readers who are marvelous. You can expect long sentences in my books, just like they were in yesteryear. You may even learn a few new words. I hope so! I guess I am still a bit of a teacher at heart.

A long time ago, on a warm summer day, I was born in Galesburg, IL. Later, while still very young, I was moved by my parents (without even asking!) to Quincy. Bouncing from parent to parent, and house to house until at 16 I was given a broader tour of the state courtesy of foster care.

At 18, I voluntarily left for Phoenix with a high school friend. For three years I lived there and had many many adventures, before once again returning to Quincy. After getting my life once again settled, I went to college and earned an Associate of Arts in Psychology, with a minor in Art.

Over the years I have held many jobs, but never quite found the right one. I’ve written poetry and short stories on a variety of subjects from raising children to finance for online publication. In 2015 I published my first book, and since then I have added many more over a variety of subjects.

I am the mother of five children, all grown and gone, except my youngest. Which I am sure is trying to drive me mad (as all teenagers do) and have plans to write another book in the future about their childhood, much to their anticipated dismay. I currently live in my hometown, in the house I love, and at the center of the chaos, I enjoy so much. I’m often surrounded by my children, my loves, friends and the strays (both two-legged and four) I take in. Even now, I continue to seek out new adventures, misadventures and new mistakes to fill the pages of my next book, laughing as I go.

Kenneth Jarrett Singleton is a thirty-four-year-old poet, playwright, and author. Prior to, “Nicu II and Victoria’s Incestuous Romance,” he had four books published. His first book was a science-fiction/horror novel called, “The Cadaver Factory.” It was published in (2004) when Singleton was twenty years of age. His second novel, “The Donner Society,” was published in (2005) the same year as his first play, “Angelica and Francesca.” Singleton’s first book of poetry, “Exotic Neurotic,” was released in (2016). He currently resides in the state of West Virginia.

Malikah R. Harris, born and raised in Newark, New Jersey is an author,
writer, producer, director, vocalist, comedian, and a motivational speaker, who
started her career in writing as a blogger and for magazines. She has written
everything from positive quotes to historical events. Her style of writing became a
hit within the public eye because of her poetic play on words.

After moving to Orlando, Florida and landing a role in The Festival of the Lion
King Show at Disney World, Malikah ended up co-writing a musical entitled “Blood

JA Huss
JA Huss never wanted to be a writer. She originally went to school to become an equine veterinarian but soon figures out they keep horrible hours and decided to go to grad school instead. That Ph.D wasn’t all it was cracked up to be, so she dropped out and got a M.S. in forensic toxicology just to get the whole thing over with as soon as possible.

After graduation she got a job with the state of Colorado as their one and only hog farm inspector. After a few years of that, she got bored. And since she was a homeschool mom who actually loves science, she decided to write science textbooks and make online classes for other homeschool moms. She wrote more than two hundred of those workbooks and was the number one publisher at the online homeschool store many times, but eventually she covered every science topic she could think of and decided to pursue other writing topics.

In 2012, she decided to write fiction instead. That year she released her first three books and started a career that would make her a New York Times bestseller and land her on the USA Today Bestseller’s List eighteen times in the next three years. Johnathan McClain is her first (and only) writing partner and even though they are worlds apart in just about every way imaginable, it works.

Johnathan McClain’s career as a writer and actor spans 25 years and covers the worlds of theatre, film, and television. At the age of 21, Johnathan moved to Chicago where he wrote and began performing his critically acclaimed one-man show, Like It Is. The Chicago Reader proclaimed, “If we’re ever to return to a day when theatre matters, we’ll need a few hundred more artists with McClain’s vision and courage.” On the heels of its critical and commercial success, the show subsequently moved to New York where Johnathan was compared favorably to solo performance visionaries such as Eric Bogosian, John Leguizamo, and Anna Deavere Smith.

I’m an author of spicy Regency romance with alpha heroes and independent heroines, layers of emotion, and lots of sizzle. I fell in love with historical romances and all things Regency—and especially all those dashing Regency heroes—while living in England, where I spent most of my time reading Jane Austen and getting lost in London (especially the getting lost part). I have traveled around the world, both as a tourist and as a volunteer with children’s organizations in Peru, Ecuador, Thailand, and Mexico. I love to hike and fly airplanes, adore all things chocolate and coffee, and am a Doctor Who fanatic (everyone says my house *is* bigger on the inside!). I am a terrible cook who hopes to one day use my oven for something other than shoe storage. In my spare time, when I’m not writing or teaching, I enjoy tending the roses in my garden during the summer and reading historical romances during the winter.
