Many years ago, I remember saying to a good friend that I thought I had a book in me. It took a little time, but that book got written. In my opinion, the time was needed for seasoning and for gaining personal experiences, both of which allows me to create characters who are rich and round and true.

My Wrenn Grayson Mysteries series was launched in 2016 with Deadly Homecoming at Rosemont and followed by Designs on Ivy’s Locket in 2017. The construction of a mystery holds my values as a writer to the centerline. It is my job to keep the reader focused, on track, and riveted to solving the mystery.

You should see the wall in my office where I lay out the timeline, the clues, and the threads that wind through a story. It is not done with mirrors, but with sticky notes. They are a colorful road map, and they keep me anchored as I write. That little bit of adhesive you think you feel on a page, that’s just residue from a Post-It. A writer does what she must to bring a story to a worthy conclusion!

When I’m not keeping Post-It Notes in business, I love the outdoors. I golf, walk, ride my bike, spend time with friends, and tend to the eight or nine flowerbeds around my home. I can’t wait to see the honeybees hovering over the flowers again!
