I’m Ellen Garrison, a life-long dog lover and enthusiastic supporter of animal rescue groups. I currently live with my husband and two dog kids in a 36-foot travel trailer in the Pacific Northwest. Altuawn Nelson is a devoted father of two children, Altuawn Nelson Jr. and Jameeyah Nelson, an inspirational screenwriter, documentarian, an author, and owner of several small businesses in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born in Atlanta, GA in and was raised in a neighborhood known as Oakland City. Being brought up in the poverty stricken, but family oriented environment, at an early age, he developed a heart for people that were faced with tough challenges. Although they didn’t have much, they always had each other. They viewed one another as family as opposed to neighbors.

Paying close attention to people that were considered by society as outcasts: pimps, prostitutes, whores, sluts, strippers, drug dealers, robbers, crack addicts, and boosters, he was able to learn a lot. Most of these individuals saw something that they called “special” in him, so that led to them attempting to keep him away from most of the pitfalls of that neighborhood. Becoming an adult, he applied positive tactics learned from his hood to transition from one part of life to the next. In his 20’s and 30’s, he was placed in settings consisting of CEO’s of companies, business women and men, screenwriters, movie producers, Consul Generals, lawyers, and the list goes on. He draws from these experiences, as well as his own, and shares them with others in hopes of positively impacting their lives!

He has spoken at schools, churches, youth centers, juvenile facilities, conferences, Atlanta City Hall, recovery centers, and Consulates.
