My Journey and Passion Throughout the years, I’ve heard many explanations as to why relationships decay. Some popular themes seem to be, “Sometimes it just isn’t meant to be,” and “You really just have to get lucky.” Rather than believe a couple’s happiness is largely based on chance, a more logical reason seems likely. I believe the reason many of us have problems in our relationships is because no one ever taught us how to create and sustain intimate ones. No one ever taught us how to truly connect with a partner. We may have been told what qualities and morals to look for, and that things like communication and honesty are key, but no one ever showed us, step-by-step, how to do it. I wanted to change that. I set out to create a blueprint that people could follow to achieve the most intimate connection possible with a partner. An easy to understand, universal step-by-step manual, that most any couple with the will could apply to their specific situation. It would teach them how to connect at a CORE level with one another. In doing so, their happiness would be based on their will, a deliberate choice and not left to chance. I found my passion and purpose in life and was eager to begin. I enrolled at the University of Central Florida. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Master of Science in Criminal Justice, and Education Specialist degree in School Counseling. After all these years of specialized education, years of counseling individuals, and personal experience, I am happy to announce that there is way to do it! I’m in love with life and I think it’s magical. I’m a big kid and a dreamer. I do what I love, I love what I do, and I don’t see it as work.

I love and enjoy reading (anything and everything, from spiritual literature, literary classics, and expert books to SF and romance novels), music (I perceive music very emotionally so I listen to whatever moves me), volunteering (my favorite was therapeutic horseback riding), long walks in the woods with my Labrador, Rose, long conversations with loved ones (if they are combined with long walks then you can’t shush me), laughing (especially with loved ones during long conversations combined with long walks), dancing (to 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s rock music, until the early morning hours), good tea (my favorites are Yogi teas, all tastes and types), rain (especially walking in the rain, but it’s not bad under a blanket either), snow and snowflakes (and again, there are those walks but also a blanket, especially with a good book or good music and a cup of tea)… and the list goes on.

Michael Mangold M.D. is a doctor, educator, and father of many. After graduating from Rosalind Franklin University of Health Sciences/ Chicago Medical in 1990, he embarked on a 23 year career in primary care medicine including 15 years as an Emergency Physician. His medical interests include wilderness and travel medicine, addictionology, and trauma psychology. Recently, he has turned his attentions to education and and teaching students through the internet.

Winding down his career as an ER physician, Dr. Mangold went to Nicaragua in 2013 to teach medical English to the med students in Puerto Cabezas. His plans changed though, when the medical director of the school could not obtain funding so he was forced to look for other sources of income in Managua first, then San Juan del Sur, his adopted home. While in SJdS, Dr. Mangold published three eBooks: “How to Think Like a Doctor,” “Cómo Pensar Como un Doctor,” and “Barefoot Doctors.” He wrote all three with the intention of bringing quality medical knowledge and practice to underserved areas of the world.

His mission was cut short over the Thanksgiving weekend that year when he was mugged five times that Thursday and Friday night. By the fifth mugging he was left for dead. Why would any sane gringo be out after dark in a large Central American city? He was trying to find his son Ben, who (as he later found out) was being hidden by the American embassy there. Hello and welcome. My name is Patrick Leifer and I am a passionate author with a unique focus on nuanced storytelling. For me nuanced means something a bit different and a little bit the same. Subjects such as difficult moments in time are a specific focus I enjoy exploring.

Attempting to illustrate this point I will give you some context behind my first book and why I like to write. In Bedtime Bubble Rhyme it immediately drops the reader into the story of Oli (a young boy who is seen going through the troubles and the triumphs of being a young child and learning the basics of what it means to begin growing up). Over the course of the book the reader sees Oli go through his bathtime and bedtime routine as the story progresses. Leading up to the end where they eventually see Oli drift off into sleep for the night. This idea came about because having talked with families of young children I found that taking certain difficult subjects and making them fun and relatable to young children may help those children develop with more ease.

Conceptually it may seem simple but that is my goal in writing. It is to find the nuances of storytelling and develop a new way of delivering information. My other goal in writing is to develop a community. For me in my personal life I really love connecting with people whether it be at work or recreationally. Going with that idea I want to continue creating a community of readers whom I can connect with as I continue to craft new stories. That is what leads me to my final core tenant in my life and my writing. I have a strong belief that our happiness isn’t something experienced alone but rather a journey best enjoyed together.

I’m Dan Eitreim and I worked as a professional photographer running my own photo studio for over 20 years. I’ve never apprenticed or worked for any other photographers. Because of this, I’ve had to learn and develop my photography skills on my own.

My first attempts were dismal to say the least…so I studied, practiced and developed my photo skills and along the way I not only learned how to put the “wow” into my photos, but I’ve also learned how to teach others to do the same!

I’ve been writing since I was eight years old. Back then most of my characters were named after LOTR characters or based on the personas I made up for my dolls. I love stories in all their forms, be it TV shows, movies, books, plays, musicals or videogames. There are a few authors and stories that have majorly influenced my writing, including Tamora Peirce and her use of semicolons, Emily Rodda and her originality and tone, Avatar: The Last Airbender’s sense of humor while still having serious parts, and the entire Fire Emblem videogame series, which has the best characters ever – interesting, creative, deep, touching.
