I am a writer of fantastical fiction. I’m published under the names Peggy A. Wheeler, Peggy Wheeler and Peggy Dembicer. My non-fiction articles have appeared in COLORADO SERENITY, MOUNTAIN CONNECTION, and, LLEWELLYN’S 2012 MAGICAL ALMANAC. My poetry appears in a number of small press magazines and women’s anthologies. I have a story in WOMEN WRITING THE WEIRD II: Dreadful Daughters, by Dog Horn Press. And publisher is Dragon Moon Press in Canada.

My B.A. in English Literature is from U.C.L.A.; my M.A. in English with a Creative Writing emphasis is from California State University at Northridge. While attending U.C.L.A., I was one of only twelve students (and the only undergraduate) chosen to study with Robert Pinsky, former Poet Laureate of the United States. I won first prize awards for two of my poems from an Evergreen Women’s Press nationwide poetry contest. My poetry received honorable mentions from the judges of a Los Angeles Poetry Festival and The Academy of American Poets. My poem Du Fu was nominated for a Rhysling award for Best Science Fiction Poem. I’ve led adult poetry and fiction writing critique groups and workshops in both Colorado and California.

Author Bio:
Murray Peters wrote his first story in grade three at the age of nine for a creative writing assignment. He modeled (which means “stole”) his story after the Disney movie The Incredible Journey.
Time past, and Murray didn’t write again until he reached fifteen. Inspired by Hardy Boys Mysteries, Stephen King, and Marvel Comics, he began getting ideas of his own.

An anti-suicide short story, “Mistaken Identity,” was published with the help and collaboration of his grade nine English teacher. A few more published stories – co-authored with his teacher – later, Murray put down the pen. Writing was turning into work and no longer fun. The collaboration ended.

More time past, and he would occasionally dabble on his mother’s typewriter – which he still has – but nothing too serious. Then came high school graduation, a DJ career, girlfriend, and two wonderful kids. And still he just dabbled, admitting sometimes – many times – he wrote shit.
Murray became a single parent in spring, 1991. After two failed attempts at college, he became an English Major and earned an Associates of Arts Diploma in 1995.

Meanwhile, he wrote some short stories and improved his craft until finally his story “The Murderer On Langston Road” was published in The Storyteller magazine. The story is now an e-book.
With his children grown and on their own, Murray began to focus on his writing and wrote and published 365 Fascinating Facts You Didn’t Know About Your Cat by Peter Scottsdale. He uses the pen name “Peter Scottsdale” for all his cat books and e-books.

Murray Peters loves writing but doesn’t have as much time as he would like to write due to work to pay the bills. However, he is putting pen to paper and will continue to publish. More than anything, he wants readers to enjoy his work. Happy reading!

The incomprehensible immensity of our universe inspires a deep sense of awe—and inspires as well many questions. What’s really out there? Is there life anywhere else? Clearly, the number of stars in our universe is beyond the mind of man to number, but what about planets?
As of late 2016, NASA has verified the existence of over 3400 exoplanets, that is, planets orbiting other stars in our Milky Way galaxy. “It’s very exciting,” said NASA’s Dr. William Kinney. “It opens up the universe. Now we know that we’re just one of billions and billions of small worlds that are very much like ours. If you extrapolate that to our galaxy as a whole, the calculation based on the Kepler data is that there are around 40 billion planets like earth.”
The 40 billion planets “like earth” is the number calculated to be in our galaxy alone, and the Milky Way is only one of the estimated two trillion or so galaxies. This makes a rough estimate of the number of planets in the known universe to be 80 sextillion (an 8 with 22 zeros behind it) (JPL/Caltech, 2016). To offer a frame of reference for that number, picture all the grains of sand on every beach on earth, multiply that picture by 16, and you may get an impression of how many planets are out there.

About Poetry: A book of poems

Life I have discovered is a lot like good poetry, some of the time things rhyme, make sense, and come together. Then there are the times when seemingly nothing rhymes, nothing comes together, and nothing makes sense.
In my life time I have been fortunate to travel many diverse paths commencing at the age of fourteen when I ran away from home and was promptly returned by the Houston Police Department to my, not so happy father. I got lost and could not find my way out of the city. However; the next night I made my exodus with the assistance of a map, and the journey began as did the contents of this writing.
Life deals us all a lot of hands, some winning and some destined to doom and loss. We share experiences, tragedies, good times and bad. We spend our times on the summits basting ourselves in the sweetness of success and victory, and we spend our fair share of misery in the darkened depths of the valleys where we are humbled, introduced to faith and something greater than ourselves.
These humble writings are the history and foot prints of my journey thus far. I trust as you read them, you will find a tear, a smile, a joy and cause you to reflect of your journey and all the goodness life presents.

Born December 26, 1950 to an US Army Sergeant father and a Pentecostal preacher’s daughter, David Walker grew up by the seat of his own britches and making, running away from home at the ripe ole age of fourteen.
Even though David never attended the great halls of learning and higher education, he received a degree in human nature with a minor in common sense at an early age hitchhiking across the land learning and working as he went. David’s independent approach to himself and life no doubt facilitated in the development of a character that brought him before heads of state, the world’s greatest entertainers and even the president of the United States.
David entered the military in 1969 and immediately raised his volunteer hand to go to Viet Nam to serve his country on a greater level.
