Texas girl by birth, child of the world by choice.

While I was born in Texas, it was a momentary layover on our way back to Venezuela. My dad was in the oil industry which allowed me to have my backyard in countries like Norway, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. We came back to the U.S. every summer and that made for interesting communication challenges for my grandparents. The first four years of my life, I only spoke Spanish. My mother would have to leave flashcards for them whenever they babysat.

I’ve ridden elephants in Thailand, shopped in the souks of Morocco and skied on the slopes of Switzerland. Even though I consider myself having an idyllic childhood, it wasn’t without some turbulent moments. In Venezuela, we barricaded ourselves in our house while a political and military coup raged around us in the streets. When we arrived in Malaysia, the first few weeks in the hotel were wonderful. Overnight, the cultural climate changed when too many seats in parliament were held by the Chinese. The situation exploded, and we were finally evacuated in an armored truck with large soldiers and even larger guns. On a side note, Peter Jennings was in the hotel with us and used my mother’s typewriter to write his story while cars burned and shots were fired through the windows.

I was lucky enough to have grown up on an airplane with adventure at my fingertips. The one thing I had not experienced was living in my home country. When I was seventeen, that changed. I was dropped off at Tulane University in New Orleans. Talk about culture shock!

I earned my undergrad (French Literature and Education) and grad (Early Childhood Development with a focus on social isolates) degrees. As soon as I finished, it was back off to Malaysia to teach. I met my husband on an airplane and the rest is history. It turns out he grew up overseas as well- I think an angel put him in that seat just for me. We now have two kids and hop planes whenever we can!

Journeys, whether inner ones or across continents, have been a mainstay of my storytelling from the beginning. Based on my life and education, it’s not such a big stretch to understand why. My very first book was written in London on a large stack of hotel stationery when I was fifteen. It was terrible, but the bug bit and I’ve dabbled ever since in writing romances with characters searching for their happily-ever-after.
I have won several writing awards like the Holt Medallion, The Emily, and The Maggie for some of my other books. My favorite hobbies are sketching, cross stitch, cooking, and decorating!

Few of them were published and I have got self-published my remaining writings. I could make some profit also. Until this moment, I wrote only in my mother tongue Telugu.
Before I turned forty, I took a masters degree in English Literature. Reading English novels is one of my hobbies and I started reading them at my twentieth year itself. Wilber Smith, Sidney Sheldon, Irving Wallace, James Hardly Chase are some of my favorite writers. That gave me sufficient command over English language, confidence and courage to take up studying post-graduation in English literature.
Writing in English was in my mind for a long time but I have started it only after completing my post-graduation in English literature. I stopped writing in my mother tongue completely and devoted myself to write in English. I have completed five novels in writing in English and my initial idea was to get them self published just like the way I did for my novels in my mother tongue. But by the time I completed my fifth novel, the paperback reading is drastically decreased with the advent of e-books and the various available devices to read them. I was compelled to consider whether it would be better to get my novels published as e-books rather than take them out as paperbacks on my own. I have started searching for perfect platform to put my novels as e-books and for sometime I have considered launching my own website also to put my novels as e-books. The whole story of the novel ‘Laughter in Darkness’, with a length of 106000 words, happens in a single day starts at 6-00 am the day before and ends at 5-00 am the next day, in the inside part of a big palace. The characters in it comprises one middle aged female doctor, one middle aged male doctor, one psychologist, one other middle aged woman, two young girls and two young boys. The main story revolves around an old woman who was bed ridden and in coma in the beginning of the novel and so in the end of it also. Hallucinations, disembodied voices, imaginations, split and multiple personalities. Thrill, romance, suspense and sex are main elements.
The characters were in the palace itself came from a faraway place at the beginning of the story and they remain in it at the end of it as well, planning themselves to go away from there fast, unsettled themselves with the bizarre and eerie experiences they had in the palace. But comparing with the beginning there had come lot of changes in the mindsets of the characters at the end.

It made him remembered all of his past also. But as Rose worried, as feared all the while, it had the expected effect on him. But Liza could save her husband, saved his mental balance, saved her marriage and proved herself a perfect psychiatrist and a wonderful wife.
There is heavy dosage of sex in this novel. If you are not a matured adult or not like open sex it is requested to you not to read this book.

I started imagining at a very early age itself, that is, at my tenth year I think. I imagined my own stories after hearing stories from my friends, teachers and my parents. All my imaginations used to be similar to the stories I have heard. That imagination gave me a sort of happiness.

More and more disappointments! But I did not stop writing. In fact, I could not stop writing. I addicted to imagine and write. Without bothering about getting published, I continued imagining and writing for children. I sent all of them to the children’s magazines. Some of the stories were published. That encouragement boosted me a lot.
I became an adult, twenty five years old. My writing also got adulthood and I started writing novels for adults and sent them to weekly magazines, monthly magazines and some publishing houses for publication. Few of them were published and I have got self-published my remaining writings. I could make some profit also. Until this moment, I wrote only in my mother tongue Telugu.
Before I turned forty, I took a masters degree in English Literature. Reading English novels is one of my hobbies and I started reading them at my twentieth year itself. Wilber Smith, Sidney Sheldon, Irving Wallace, James Hardly Chase are some of my favorite writers. That gave me sufficient command over English language, confidence and courage to take up studying post-graduation in English literature.
Writing in English was in my mind for a long time but I have started it only after completing my post-graduation in English literature. I stopped writing in my mother tongue completely and devoted myself to write in English.
