Ok, firstly, I have a couple of confessions to make. The first is that I used to watch Star Wars every single holiday during high school and college (Yep, every single episode). The second is the first time I played Pokemon, I stayed up until 3 am trying to level up my Charmander (I’m a big fan of fire-type). The third is that I love Lord of the Rings and sometimes I dream about being an elf but if I can’t, I’ll settle for being one of the Dunedain. And last and certainly not least, yes, I haven’t watched a single episode of Game of Thrones (I hear it’s a damn cool series!) nor read any of the Harry Potter books. Ok, before you judge me on those ones, just hear me out. The reason I haven’t, is because I’m an author and as an author, I want to independently conceive super cool ideas and characters that my super fans will love and remember. Watching Lord of the Rings was an exception though (come on, you have to admit that it was a pretty cool exception hey!). Truly, I was never the same after, “Return of the King”. But seriously, that’s why I’ve made the sacrifice. Still, I have a huge amount of respect for J.K. Rowling and George R.R. Martin for their incredible achievements. My fervent wish is to follow in their footsteps with a series I’ve written called, “Outcast of the Dark Knight”. I started writing Outcast in the year 2000. Back then, I never knew anything about publishing (I still don’t know much about publishing lol!) but I knew I loved writing from a very early age and I had this story bubbling within and I just had to get it out there. Today, with the third book on its way, I’m proud to say the journey has just begun! For me, the greatest honor I can receive is my fans enjoying reading my books. That makes me happy and it makes it all worth it!

My fascination with character study led me to my degree in Psychology and Philosophy from the University College of North Wales and then as a college lecturer in English Literature which, combined with a fascination for the atmosphere I found in Daphne du Maurier’s “Rebecca”, all drove me to become a full-time writer of character studies, atmospheric mystery and suspense, with underlying romance and family/relationships.

Of those who have sadly passed, Ruth Rendell, D H Lawrence and – particularly – Daphne du Maurier, have fired my enthusiasm while of those who, thankfully, still live, I enjoy the work of Ian McEwan and Susan Hill, author of The Lady in Black.

I suspect that my teaching of English Literature in colleges and then as a private tutor have in some measure informed my new suspense A Child from the Wishing Well.

This features an eerie music tutor, her young pupil Rosie and Rosie’s paranoid and inept father, Gerard, who nevertheless yearns to mean more to his daughter. Throughout, I think it is fair to say I was consumed with the question of whether Gerard, the paranoid father, could in the end fight his mental illness to grow closer to his daughter, Rosie, who is, emotionally, alone.

Other than being an author, I am a well-behaved ‘hubby’ and ‘ Pops’ to my dear daughter, Catherine. I confess to a passion for plump, docile tabbies and am moved by the music and life of the composer Edward Elgar, my interest leading me each year to a cottage in the Malvern Hills and to the Three Choirs Festival.

The thing is up until that point I’d always at least felt in control of my harming, the first time had been when I was about 12 years old in the Church toilets, drawing lines down my legs returning to the pew with damp thighs. But it took glue and steri strips in A&E to make me realise that maybe if my old comfort blanket truly fixed anything, I wouldn’t have to keep turning to it. I don’t want to preach, I don’t have a rule book and in the interests of full disclosure I’m probably the academic black sheep of the family. All I want is a conversation. A chance to explain all the ugliness my mind has been able to conjure over the years together in the hope that you will begin to see that you’re not on your own in this. That given the right help, you can find your own path.

Mental illness isn’t something shameful, it isn’t something to quickly sweep under the rug, it’s an illness like any other, except with this disease your bruises bloom on the inside.

For me recovery is about time and perspective, about learning to love that person in the mirror, because he/she can be your best friend instead of your worst enemy.

It’s about letting go of the fake friends and the toxic influences in your life and above all else, refusing to calculate your self worth upon the evidence of someone else’s evaluation of you.

Start with reaching out, and move from there. But remember that every little step forward, however insignificant, is progress. One foot in front of the other and one step at a time. What you’re going through is just a moment waiting to be enveloped by time, it isn’t forever.

Ok, firstly, I have a couple of confessions to make. The first is that I used to watch Star Wars every single holiday during high school and college (Yep, every single episode). My fervent wish is to follow in their footsteps with a series I’ve written called, “Outcast of the Dark Knight”. I started writing Outcast in the year 2000. Back then, I never knew anything about publishing (I still don’t know much about publishing lol!) but I knew I loved writing from a very early age and I had this story bubbling within and I just had to get it out there. What a fantastic read. Quite unlike anything I’ve read before but all the better for that. Had me laughing out loud in places and finished the book wanting more……
I re-entered a world that I had somehow forgotten over the years, where a perverse logic ruled as the author led me blindly onwards laughing all the way…….
This ebook is a light-hearted, amusing adventure. I was tickled by the eclectic mix of characters and their extraodinary dialogue, which strangely was so understandable……
A melding of Pratchett and Douglas Adams with well written, if somewhat bizarre, scenarios…..
What can I say? It’s a crazy story; it left me baffled many times. I’m so confused. Eccentric story! Just because it was so strange, it left me laughing. You’ll have to read it for yourself to figure out why I gave it five stars. Maybe even then you won’t figure out why I gave it five stars.
I can’t figure it out myself……..

Two men are on a mission – Ade to find the father who deserted his mother and Randolf to seek atonement for killing her. Not a good way to start an adventure but things can only get worse.
The two friends leave the Minor’s Arms to follow in Ade’s father’s footsteps, but as neither man has ever been much further than the car park, they are soon lost, weary and hungry.
Meandering across the Minorian landscape they are joined by Rover and Rufus, two of the meanest dogs with the worst breath since Lassie passed away. How can two dogs and two men get it so wrong as they manage to upset every dragon, creature, god and dancer they bump into…. Which is a real shame as Ade is doomed to save most of them.
Also Ade’s can’t quite get out of his mind the nagging feeling that he’s in someone else’s tale. He’s just one chapter in a story that’s already been told…… but never quite like this.
This is the true fable of a cruel and long journey that will finally lead the four companions to the Dragon’s Mountain and the heartbreaking end to their quest. It is a story with the breadth and sweep of a dead dog’s tail.
