Well…where to really begin? Hmm…if I started with anything I guess it would be my love of books and writing (to me, you can’t write without loving to read). To this day, I can remember picking up my first short story set that had side stories from Charlaine Harris’s Sookie Stackhouse tales. I loved the feeling of amusement and enthralling tales that took me to another place. That was probably a turning point for me…I knew I loved to write, but I realized most all that my tales and scribbles were more short stories and novelettes.

Writing stories and publishing them seemed to be the next step in life as I’ve been scribbling stories and thoughts in journals for as long as I can remember (a piece of me that has passed down to my two oldest daughters). I am a mom to four beautiful and sometimes rotten children. My stories tend to be inspired and written late in the night when everyone is deep in dreamland. I spend way too much time on Pinterest looking at office ideas for a writing studio and author notes, tips, and good book suggestions…along with a thousand other things! I read…a lot and that about sums it up.

I love front porches, the big wrap around kind where friends and family can sit and enjoy cool lemonade on a hot summer’s day, while the kids play in the front yard. I had visions of those moments while I was growing up in South Chicago, where there were no front porches, only front stoops. During the summer months, the parents would sit out on those stoops, sucking down beers while they watched their kids play on the cracked sidewalks. Ah, those were the days!

Just yesterday, while I was ripping through my closet trying to find something to wear, I came across three pairs of heels I have yet to step into. What? How can that be? Plus one ball gown, two dresses, a pair of dress pants and two tops that still have price tags. My husband says it’s because I write too much. My friends say it’s because I don’t go out enough, and my cat says . . . oh wait. She doesn’t actually talk, but if she could, she would say it’s because I plan to attend an event and then something dreadful happens. Several weeks later, with Weston well on his way to mending, Song and Olive host a dinner party at Snowy Moon to celebrate Weston’s recovery. Vile City was published by Caffeine Nights recently under my full name Jennifer Lee Thomson to fulfil a promise to my dying dad who passed away after a long battle with cancer. I also write as Jennifer Thomson (self-help books) and Jenny Thomson (my other fiction).

Vile City is the first in my Detective in a Coma series featuring Detective Inspector Duncan Waddell who thinks he’s losing his mind when pal and colleague Stevie Campbell who’s in a coma starts to talk to him. Is the pressure of trying to find women who’ve gone missing in Glasgow making his lose his mind, or is something else going on?

I wrote the Crime File series of books (as Jenny Thomson) – also referred to as the Die Hard for Girls books – because I was sick of reading about women who were victims in book. The books are published worldwide and books 1, 2 and 3, are out now. In order, they are – Hell To Pay, Throwaways and Don’t Come for Me. It’s also available as a box set.

When I’m not writing fiction, I write self-help books (as Jennifer Thomson) on bullying, dog care, vegetarianism and dating. In my spare time inspired by TV shows and movies like The Walking Dead, Z Nation and Dawn of the Dead, I plan how to survive a zombie apocalypse. My obsession to zombies led me to write a zombie novel.

A while back, I decided that my life needed to be one of purpose and meaning. I knew that to tackle the changes I wanted to bring about in my life, I would need to embrace and accept an inevitable transformation within myself.

I set out to seek answers. In order to heal, in order to change, I needed to find my truth, my passions, and myself.

– Who was I?

The task was harder than I had initially thought. Everything seemed jumbled into a big ball of yarn and unraveling it seemed to be impossible. I was or had been so many things to so many different people. Along the way, I had worn so many different hats and played so many roles during my life.

Who was I truly?

When I looked past the layers of my physical and material life, what lay hidden inside, that was fearlessly fighting to be brought to life?

The journey of the Self is a result of my tenacious desire to connect to the infinite wisdom that lies within each one of us. By creating a deeper connection with my intuition, I discovered a process that helped me beyond all expectations. Asking myself the right questions and allowing the answers to reveal themselves was a test to my patience and a lesson I needed learn.

This intimate interview with myself allowed me to release judgment, to find understanding, and discover limitless compassion for myself and others. It assisted me in healing and releasing what needed to be let go. I gained the confidence that I needed, by empowering my self-esteem, to forge forth in my transformation with irrefutable faith and determination. The perspective towards my life changed and the path before me became perfectly clear.

My wish is that this journey inward will help others who are looking for answers, truth, and transformation. I hope it will change your life in the same meaningful way it has changed mine.

Once, on New Year’s Eve, when we lived in India, in a city with the magic name Arambol, the children asked to tell a story before going to bed. So I started creating a story about three mice.

Children liked the idea! I was telling it to them for a whole month, every night. The idea to write a fairy tale came only at thirtieth day. I did not remember all the stories, but I recorded 11 stories and the first book “Bag with mice” turned out this way.

In Arambol I drew a picture of a bird, which later became the cover of the Russian edition of “Magic colors of Rinia”.

Then new fairy tales appeared and the children took part in them. They invented names.
When a woman gives birth to a child, she seems to become a storyteller.

My family is a family of travelers. We have been traveling in Asia for several years. I am a happy woman, a mother of a wonderful girl Veronika, who draws a lot, laughs, enjoys life and says that she has a rainbow in her! My son Nikita is a bright and sunny boy. The incomprehensible immensity of our universe inspires a deep sense of awe—and inspires as well many questions. What’s really out there? Is there life anywhere else? Clearly, the number of stars in our universe is beyond the mind of man to number, but what about planets?
As of late 2016, NASA has verified the existence of over 3400 exoplanets, that is, planets orbiting other stars in our Milky Way galaxy. “It’s very exciting,” said NASA’s Dr. William Kinney. “It opens up the universe. Now we know that we’re just one of billions and billions of small worlds that are very much like ours. If you extrapolate that to our galaxy as a whole, the calculation based on the Kepler data is that there are around 40 billion planets like earth.”
The 40 billion planets “like earth” is the number calculated to be in our galaxy alone, and the Milky Way is only one of the estimated two trillion or so galaxies. This makes a rough estimate of the number of planets in the known universe to be 80 sextillion (an 8 with 22 zeros behind it) (JPL/Caltech, 2016). To offer a frame of reference for that number, picture all the grains of sand on every beach on earth, multiply that picture by 16, and you may get an impression of how many planets are out there.

If you let a fat person live in a thin man’s body for a day, he will never want to go back.

I know exactly what it’s like to suffer from a lack of confidence. You think about food and what you put in your body differently, making better choices in your life to feel better and perform at your best. Lack of confidence about my body, after experiencing it for many years, has really created many challenges in my life. I learned ways to get rid of fat with diets, healthy eating, and workout routines.

Not so long after starting my fitness journey, I eliminated fat and gained muscle. It took me over a year to overcome overeating and binging.
