David Carley is retired, but does serve as one of two shepherds at the Grace and Truth Church in Cordell, Oklahoma. He holds a BS in Radio/TV broadcasting, a BA in Theology/Speech, and a Master’s in Agency Counseling. After 35 years in the Worldwide Church of God (WCG), David resigned after coming to a realization that he had spent his youth following after a perverted gospel in an oppressive legalistic church. Since the age of 21, he believed that the WCG was God’s only true Church on earth. David served as an ordained minister of the WCG for about 25 years. He first was a pastoral assistant in Nashville and Louisville. After that he pastored churches in Oklahoma, Colorado, North Carolina, and Texas. He has authored articles in various church magazines and local newspapers. After leaving WCG, David finally found spiritual rest in a grace filled church free of legalism. I earned degrees in Physics (MIT ’63), Law (Columbia ’66) and honors degrees in both Math & Biology at Rutgers (evening classes) . Lisa Lowell was born in 1967 into a large family full of hands-on artists, in southern Oregon. In an effort to avoid conflict, her art of choice was always writing, something both grandmothers taught her. She started with poetry at six on her grandmother’s ancient manual typewriter. By her teens she moved on to pen and paper and produced gloomy, angst-ridden fantasy during adolescence. Her mother claims that Lisa shut the door and never came out until she left for university. During this time she felt compelled to draw illustrations throughout the margins that helped supplement her neglect of adjectives and consistent story lines. A much appreciated English teacher, Mrs. Segetti, collected these moody musings and sent them in to scholarship foundations.
