Micael Widell was born on the countryside outside of Uppsala, Sweden in 1983. Since a young age he has been driven by curiosity, diving into and mastering area after area. His first obsession was computers — the day his cousin showed him a Commodore 64 he decided to master computers and programming.

After high school, Micael moved to Stockholm and earned a Master of Science degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology. From age 16 to 26 he also ran a web design business on the side, building websites and communities for small and medium sized organizations. After university he then went on to work as a software engineer at IBM.

After two years at IBM, Micael quit his job, sold his apartment, and moved to a cheap rental apartment in a suburb with one year’s worth of saved money, with a mission to start his own business. Nazaire has lost part of his eyesight due to complications during a Sickle Cell Crisis, but this has only pushed him over the years to continue to draw and paint with more purpose. Having limited vision shapes his art and creativity, affecting how he sees the world and how he creates a new composition.

Today he continues to seek new ways to express his art and continues to advocate and speak publicly for the much needed awareness of Sickle Cell Disease and Science education in his community.

His hope for his new coloring book series, “Finding Your Colors,” is to be able to afford to send 50 coloring books and 50 coloring pencil sets to local Sickle Cell community based organizations around the world. so they can be gifted to a warrior fighting the pain on a hospital bed.
