The drunken halfling still makes the occasional appearance, though. After high school Johan did his military service in the Swedish Royal Marines. That was a bit of a heaven and hell experience for him. On the one hand, it was great fun (he loves to blow stuff up, shoot big guns and ride in cool boats). On the other hand, it was a real pain in the behind, because he discovered he is allergic to running mile after mile in full combat gear, crawling through icy mud and making hundreds of push ups. It makes him very tired and nauseous. And he doesn’t like to kill things. Not even mosquitoes. Unless they’ve drawn first blood, in which case they will be dealt with swiftly and painlessly. Still, he got a green beret for his troubles and learned how to blow up bridges. It’s always good to have career options when you don’t know what you want to be when you grow up. After surviving the military he went to university to get a degree. Since he still didn’t know what he wanted to be, he asked his parents for advice. His mother suggested teaching (she was a teacher), since Johan likes to explain things to people and can’t stop telling people useless bits of trivia they never asked for. By the way, did you know you can fly to Mars in 2-5 days with an acceleration of 1g? Amazing. His father suggested studying computer science (he worked with computers), since Johan likes to play video games. It was a close call, but the video games tipped the scales, and four years later he had his Masters degree in computing and went to work in the IT business, where he is still plodding along. The trumpets of Kaz’an? Silent as the grave. Johan still doesn’t know what he wants to do when he grows up. Maybe writing is his thing. When I was 17 years old, I had to leave my home town because I went to study at university in another town. So, I found myself in a strange city where I did not know anyone. I rented an apartment, which I shared with two roommates to pay less money. Soon my roommates became my friends. Gradually, my life was getting better.
However, there was one circumstance that really troubled me. My friends preferred eating fast food, such as cheeseburgers and French fries. I started going with them to fast food restaurants. But that junk food did not agree with my sensitive stomach, which reminded itself through pain and indigestion.
The thing is that from the very childhood, I suffered from poor health. My stomach was my weak point. So, my mother made me keep to a strict diet. Then I felt well. After moving to another town, I completely forgot about my diet, and tried to focus only on my studies. One day, after eating in a fast food restaurant, I felt so bad that I made a promise to myself I would start cooking healthy dishes. And I kept my promise.
To start with, I went and bought a recipe book. I started cooking simple dishes, such as mashed potatoes and baked fish. But my stomach was grateful for that. I treated my dishes to my friends. And they enjoyed them to such an extent that they even stopped eating junk food.

I liked the idea that ketogenic diet allows you to eat desserts, which I like so much (including muffins and dark chocolate). In addition to desserts, I also adore fatty fish (such as salmon and mackerel). So, I was full of enthusiasm and decided to try the ketogenic diet without hesitation. Hi, now what to write here. I find you can spend more time staring at a blank screen trying to write a bio than you do when you get a period of writer’s block. So where to start – staring at the screen again!

Ok, now I have it, I think! As you may or may not know I am a science fiction author and the creator of Watchers, my debut novel. I say debut, as there is a book two in process at the moment. After that I don’t know, I have a few vague ideas that could come to fruition but at the moment they are just little story plots that surface in my head from time to time, when on a long drive or alike.

Writing fiction has been of interest to me for as long as I can remember. One of my favourite things in school was when the teacher gave us free rein to write a fiction story of our choice, I actually found one of these that I’d received an A* for in my old student record of achievement file. It was strange reading it back, ten pages of A4 painfully scripted by hand in fountain pen. I am only thirty four years of age and ball point had obviously been invented, so god knows why I slogged it out in fountain pen, but I did.
