About Eat Green Make Green:

In the summer of 2015, broke and defeated after two years of failing at my first startup, I moved out of my Boston apartment and back home to Mom & Dad’s. With the pressure of rent and food no longer plaguing me, I had time to reflect on the previous years from both a business and personal standpoint. Where did I go wrong? What could I have done better?

I decided to start reading and experimenting more with diet and exercise, maximizing productivity, improving my relationships, and bettering myself as a whole. I soon found out that one of those (diet!) drastically impacted all the others.

Through trial and error, I learned that eating whole plant foods and avoiding meat, dairy, and processed foods had me feeling invincible. As I gradually made a transition to becoming vegan, my life started to change.

At the end of 2015, I sold the majority stake of my business to a venture capital firm in Singapore. I literally went from living and running my business in my parents’ basement to selling it to an entity on the other side of the world. What’s crazy is, I truly believe that adopting a whole food vegan diet was the catalyst for it all to happen.

When I was sixteen years old, I was reading “Billy Budd” by Herman Melville for my English class. My friend and I were pretty much bored out of our minds. My friend said to me, “We could probably do better than this.” To which, being sixteen, I agreed.

Thus I embarked on becoming a writer. My first attempt was laughable, a James Bond clone that proved one thing only: I could conceive of and write a story from page 1 to page n but that didn’t make it a good book. Thus, Ian Gemini (yep, that was his name) was laid to rest.

Over the course of time I improved, stealing less and creating more. I went to school at Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland and studied English with a Creative Writing focus. I learned from published authors. I had to keep my mouth shut while my peers ripped my work to shreds. Most importantly, my writing continued to get better. I wrote a novel as my thesis and at some point I may go back, pull it out of mothballs, and see if it stands up.

At some point I decided to shift away from thrillers and write fantasy. I found my creative juices tended toward more of the fantastical, of magic and monsters. I found an amazing writing group willing to give me feedback about my story and characters.

I found my voice, and as a writer that’s a critical component.

It’s clear that at sixteen I was full of hubris. And now, I am full of humility. To Mr. Melville, both an apology and a “thank you.” Without “Billy Budd” I would not have become a writer myself.

I’m from Alexandria, La, but I’ve lived in Lafayette, La where I attended college. I’m a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a Bachelors of Science in Apparel Merchandising/Business but writing and music is my passion. I used to be really shy. I was actually voted for most bashful, shyest girl, back in high school. To either be read or not. Now, here is a small quote from the story.

“NO! It wasn’t actually in a day, but the passing of it. When the sun took its last breath and the night gave a kiss goodbye. There her eyes flickered passed mine. Still, she sat partly propped-up, smiled wider and wider. Every second, became a moment, felt elapsed… … …”

Author Bio:
I am not the best proofreader, but I am a find damn writer. I am an even worst marketer. I have won rewards when I was younger in creative writing: Poetry and short stories.

Having a background in Graphic and Web Design, and being an Artist helped me design my own eBooks. From time to time, you will see some of my own artwork displayed in the stories. Even sometimes the stories are based off of the paintings/drawings. Even so I am not perfect, yet; I am still doing it. Improving slowly, but improving.
