Barry L. Becker is retired. He was formerly a marketing consultant to the biometrics security industry from 1993 through 2013. He previously served as both the vice-president of marketing for Eyedentify from 1984-1986 and transitioned to vice-president of international sales & marketing from 1986-1991. The company specialized in eye-retinal technology for positive identification in high-security environments. He traveled over 500,000 miles during the period from 1985-1990.

Mr. Becker has been engaged in all aspects of sales and marketing for over thirty-five years. In 1987, he wrote an article entitled “Eyedentify counters security threat,” which appeared in the Journal of Defense and Diplomacy, Volume 5, Number 8.

He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Communication Arts and Marketing from San Francisco State University. He has completed Executive Programs at both Columbia Graduate School of Business and Stanford Business School. He and his wife reside in Portland, Oregon.

Marti Perez (La Havana 1853-1895) is so popular in Spain it’s become a proverb. It’s the first saying Jonathan remembers hearing when he landed in Barcelona with his Catalan wife a couple of decades ago. The remainder of the series showed progressive images showing the creature growing larger, and the appendages changing until it was fully erect and it was strikingly similar to the bone structure she had just looked at.

After the foraging, the host moved to a corner of the open area and there was another creature. The Mists were concerned that if their host were threatened or attacked, it would be terrible for them. Later there’s the trip in a hummingcraft and a tour around the aliens’ brood chambers, the conservation zoo and Kweezy’s science lab.
Young readers will enjoy the fun language throughout, complete with words that are laugh-out-loud to hear when the story is read aloud. Not to mention pantomimes of the ant-persons’ wiggly antennae and hilarious mis-understandings of words! But it isn’t all fun and games. There’s a lesson to be learned as well about respecting the Earth and taking good care of all its creatures. Simple references to Einstein and relativity travel add a gentle piece of education while raising a smile through their mother’s confusion at the conclusion of the story.
A great book to read alone or enjoy while sat on your grown-up’s lap!

Originally, after he had retired from teaching G J just wanted to write and write about many of the kids he had taught and tell his readers about some of their hilarious tales. But after a while he realised that so many of the stories would be tinged with sadness or tragedy or poignant moments, and that it was not going to be just another “book of funny stories”. I’m an indie writer of fiction that is sometimes -and sometimes not!- best described as romance. I write longer-length fiction that is realist and contemporary. Whilst principally concerned with relationships that are often amorous, it also has strong elements of social observation and humour.
