As a child Kathy wanted to be a writer when she grew up. She also wanted to act. After receiving an MFA in Acting and playing the part of starving young artist in New York, she taught theater classes at a small college in the Mid-West before returning home to the East Coast, where over the years, she and her husband raised two kids and an assortment of dogs. During stints in advertising, children’s media publishing, and education reform in the former Soviet Unions, she wrote whenever she could. Her love of early American history has its roots in family vacations up and down the East Coast visiting old forts and battlefields and places such as Williamsburg, Mystic Sea Port, and Sturbridge Village. At the same time, she daydreamed in history classes, imagining the everyday people behind all the dates and conflicts and how they lived.
Claiming her best ideas are born of dreams, Kathy has written a number of stories over the years. Her first published novel, Winter Fire, a 1998 Golden Heart finalist in historical romance, was reissued in 2010 by Books We Love, Ltd.
When not writing, she enjoys reading, cooking, photography, playing “ball” with the dogs, and rooting on her favorite sports teams.

A cat lover from an early age, Peter Scottsdale wrote his first cat tale, “The Cat and the Dog,” in a grade three creative writing exercise – the story of a cat and a dog lost in the woods, and the police shooting the dog for some reason. Peter drew inspiration for the story from Disney’s The Incredible Journey.
Inspired by such books as Hardy Boys Mysteries, Marvel Comics and Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Scottsdale wrote several published short stories with his grade nine English teacher.
Then life happened. Scottsdale stopped writing, only scribbling bits of story every so often. A family came along which turned into single parenthood. He raised his kids and wrote here-and-there.
Throughout his life, cats have been a welcome and influencing presence. From Tia (a Siamese) to Booties (a Tabby with White) to Rusty (an orange boy with little ears) to Sam the Siamese, Peter has loved all his felines (and still does). He’s loved all his cats so much so he started to write about them. They have inspired and delighted him to create cat stories and to find feline facts for his books.
Cat lover turned author, Peter Scottsdale published his first book, 365 Fascinating Facts You Didn’t Know About Your Cat, in 2012. He followed that with “The Christmas Cat” and “The Christmas Cat 2.” Recently he released How Do Cats Do That? on Amazon and will publish The Wonder of Cats in Fall, 2016 and “The Christmas Cat 3” for the 2016 holiday season, also on Amazon.
An English Major, Scottsdale graduated from Medicine Hat College with an Associate of Arts Diploma in 1995. He continues to research our furry felines and write cat fiction and non-fiction and hopes fellow kitty-cat people will enjoy his work.

The story itself is one of tragedy and rebirth, as the main character Horace Carver serves as both a reluctant and unreliable narrator as he struggles to find his place in the world and the voice with which he will tell his story. In a similar fashion, the secondary narrator, Dr. Elmer Ellsworth, struggles with his own sense of self as he ends a career of hope and promise only to delve into madness as he cares for the peculiar little sibling: Acquila Rose.
Though several of the characters find their origin in Greek and Egyptian mythology, they become real and flawed people, struggling to understand the lives they are living and the people who surround them. The author allows them to remain ambiguous and confused, even when the conventions of literature would demand the conflict be resolved.
The majority of the novel takes place in 2008, the last year people paid attention to each other, before turning their attention to smartphones. Written in a present and intense manner, the story will please those who demand a higher level of literary discourse as well as those who prefer a fetching contemporary read.
This novel departs from the dictates of corporate “literary” novels while disregarding the conventions of the MFA produced works that have caused a glut in modern American Literature. Read with a sense of ease and earnestness.

Ernest Gordon Taulbee grew up in a small town in Eastern Kentucky called Salyersville. He received both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University. Upon completing his MA he moved to Louisville — where he has lived most of his adult life.
Love of reading and writing has been a theme in his life. Through the decade and a half since he finished his MA, Mr. Taulbee has worked a variety of jobs, from populating a cubicle in a large corporation to making and selling mead. Throughout his whole life, writing has remained his singular professional and artistic passion.
He enjoys writing that is both entertaining as well as writing that borders on high art.
The thesis for his MA was the first 100 pages of a novel. He would complete that novel in the months after finishing his graduate degree. After additional months spent proofreading and editing, he submitted the manuscript to small publishing houses and select agents who considered literary fiction. The stacks of rejections letters became less painful, when he received an email from a small, art house, stating they would like to publish this novel. That joy was squashed about a month or so later, when the publishing company informed him an unexpected financial situation would cause the publishing house to close.
He would continue to write short stories and outline for longer works over the next few years, until he was struck with the idea for what would become his novel, A Sibling in Always, while waiting for the bus.
Once the manuscript was complete, he continued to write prose and to submit the novel for consideration by small houses and publications.
After a year and a half, he decided to join the do-it-yourself culture that had influenced much of the books, music, and art he had come to admire.
He hope you will read his currently published works. If you like it, he hope you will leave a review. If you don’t, he hopes you will be constructive in your criticism and state what you think could make the work better.
He believes that art, including fiction, is a vital part of society, so — if you are not going to produce it — appreciate it and try to improve it.

During the two years that I worked there, I lost dozens of cups of coffee because their caffeine-addicted parrot would perch on my cup as soon as my head was turned, and then would NOT let me have it back until he’d drunk it all or had tipped it over. Like Leona, I lost a pretty gold earring when their parrot decided it was a tick and chewed it off before I could stop him. I spent many lunches trying to keep my food away from their always-hungry Great Dane and, like Toni, I finally got used to opening up the big basement freezer and seeing bags of dead mice beside the ice cream! The one thing I never quite got used to? Being chased out of their bathroom every day by a very annoyed one-legged goose who was convinced that the tub was his (despite the fact that it was the only bathroom in the house, so we all had to use it!). Taking care of injured birds is a ton of work, but it was the most fun job I’ve ever had, and I learned more about wildlife than I could ever have imagined. I had a blast writing this story and reliving all of those wonderful memories, and I’m glad I can now share them with fun-loving kids. Born in Elliot Lake Ontario, Kevin developed a curious mind and a true appreciation of the natural world. He spent much of his youngest years alongside his father hunting, trapping, fishing, camping, prospecting and surveying. Kevin went on to attend McMaster University and the University of Western Ontario, earning a Ph.D. in applied mathematics and theoretical physics. Summer work terms still kept him grounded though, spent working in a uranium mine and prospecting in the North. Upon graduating, Kevin worked in the natural resources sector prior to his current position as Defense Scientist.
Kevin is an avid writer in his field having published in top physics, medical, and computational journals, the geosciences and defense. A Personal Note From The Author:
Unfortunately, I came up with the title of this book—and a pretty big chunk of the plot-line—the day I washed my face in a toilet. In my defense, we were living in the middle of nowhere, and a brutal storm had left us with no hydro, no heat, no lights and no running water for almost a week. I was cold and grimy, and by the fifth day I snapped. I pulled the top off the toilet tank and peered in. The water had been sitting there for days, so it smelled really funky. Also, every chain and bobbly thing in there was covered with a thick layer of (and here, I’m using the scientific term) bleck. Still, I was desperate. So I used the slimy toilet tank water and had what was probably the fastest sponge bath on record.
Sadly, the curry incident happened to me, too. Shortly before I boarded an eight-hour flight from England to Canada, a friend took me out for a huge curry feast. I’d never had curry, and my intestines weren’t sure what to do with the stuff, so they promptly rejected it. I developed a massive case of explosive curry farts. This book is a labor of love—but it’s laced with some of my most cringe-worthy experiences, too!

Q-This is a sexy romance set in California. The couple meets on a camping and climbing trip to Yosemite National Park. Why Yosemite? Why climbing? Isn’t that a rather unusual setting?
A-I wanted the setting to be something unusual, to convey adventure and freedom. For me being in the nature is just that. Romantic. Pure. Down-to-Earth. But I wanted it to also show adventure and something unusual. That’s when a friend posted photos of his last climbing trip and I was hooked. The sheer beauty of the Yosemite National Park, the Half Dome, sunsets, and thermal springs got to me.
The breathtaking landscapes and the exercise of climbing (and the lean, muscular, good-looking, handsome guys) would make the perfect setting for Rachel and Peter to meet.
Q- What challenges do your characters have to overcome?
A- Well, Rachel is a new adult, just coming of age. She’s the typical college student. Studying, working and trying to find her place in the world. Throughout the series she grows into an empowered and independent young woman. Ready to tackle the world.
While rich and wealthy Peter has to cope with a disastrous breakup, and too much work. He needs to trust in love again.
