He was born in Atlanta in 1945, grew up in next-door DeKalb County, and developed a love for reading right after he discovered the school library. He read almost everything, but was especially fascinated by the fantastic tales of spaceships, space exploration, and conflict among the stars. He soon became familiar with the writers who would influence his own work: Arthur C. Clarke, Isaac Asimov, John W. Campbell, and later, Larry Niven and Harlan Ellison. He graduated from Avondale High School just outside Atlanta, and after a stint in the U.S. Army assigned as a radio mechanic to the 2nd Armored Division at Ft. Hood, Texas, he worked in the field of electronics and electronic technology. After many years of reading all of those great Science Fiction stories, he decided, “I can do that,” and wrote some of his own. In July 1981 he sold his first published story, Timestopper, to Amazing Stories. Eventually, with more of his stories reaching publication, he became a veteran writer in the Science Fiction genre.
But he has done more in the arts than write a few stories. He once thought he could draw and paint pictures, and he created and sold a few landscape paintings, both oil and acrylic. Mae Schick is a former English language teacher and language school owner who has written extensively her entire life. She was raised in Montana, and although the Homestead Acts came to a halt before she was born, she grew up among “ancients” who had a part in the fascinating era of the settling of the West. Daniel Potter has always been inspired by the mysteries of the world. His early interest lead him to become avid researcher as well as gamer and writer. After obtaining his PhD in vascular biology, he began exploring fictional magic and spiritualism using his own particular scientific lense. Daniel published the webcomic Walking the Lethe from 2010-2012 and is an active member of the East Bay Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Meet-up group. So, I began to research and learn more. I met with survivors. I even met with children and grandchildren of SS officers. But I still had no answers. I cannot say that I have all of the answers to all of my questions even now. But what I do know is that soon all of the survivors will be gone. Their message must be remembered, the sacrifices that they made must not be forgotten. And so I humbly and with the utmost humility try to tell their stories. It is painful, but I must convey the darkness and horror of the time, but I also want the world the know and celebrate the unsung heroes. I’m Louise and I’ve been gardening for most of my life. I initially spent time in the garden to be close to my mom, but it wasn’t long before I had got the bitten by the gardening bug myself. My mom gave me a corner of the garden to look after. I used my patch to grow flowers and vegetables. Once I had used up all of the space, I plastered my bedroom with house plants and started taking over the rest of the house. My mom gradually gave me more space to work with in the garden and eventually shared her entire garden with me.
Since then, I haven’t stopped learning and experimenting in the garden. The main difference is I have my own home and garden to work on and my mom has hers back!
Gardening has changed my life forever. I find it relaxing, fun, and hugely rewarding. I would like everyone to discover this too.

After a lifetime of playing soccer, I quit the high school team and unbeknownst to anyone, began writing. I was completely dedicated and had a complete manuscript in 8 months. Barking Madness was published by Pulse Publishing in August 2015.
I was born in Greenwich, Connecticut but have been living in West Newbury, Massachusetts with my family since the 3rd grade. Currently, I am a sophomore at UMass Amherst and pursuing a degree in English. When I’m not doing homework or writing, I can be found on my Xbox, at the gym, or watching a movie, as I am a huge fan of film.
